Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today we over at Just Add Ink have a fabulous inspiration picture challenge -Just Add Ink #716 | Inspiration Picture Challenge. I felt that the Inspiration Picture for this weeks challenge had a very European/Mediterranean feel and vibe, so for my card today I used the products from the Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Blooms Suite to incorporate that vibe. I was also drawn to the blue stairs in the inspiration picture and thought that the blues in the Mediterranean Blooms DSP was a perfect choice to go with those blue stairs. I've used this DSP in a few projects and have so far teamed it with Basic White and Night of Navy so this time I wanted to try it with Crumb Cake and Night of Navy and I think it they go quite well together. I turned the large die from the Citrus Blooms Dies on the side so that it is positioned across the card rather than up and down. It just adds a different look with the die cut and to make it more versatile in it's use. Got to love more versatility in the Stampin' Up! products! I finished the card off with some die cut circles, the fussy cut lemons, the die cut foliage and flowers, the embossed sentiment, some ribbon and trim, and the Opal Rounds. I love all the layering and different elements for a pretty birthday card. Just an FYI - the Night of Navy Linen Thread comes from the Stampin' Up! 2024 Sept - Dec Mini Catalogue, from the Nests of Winter Suite, available to purchase on 4h Sept 2024. Happy new month! To mark the end of possibly the longest January in history, I held a lovely relaxing craft class on Saturday. I called this my Birthday Bash event... which in retrospect was not the best name as several people have asked if I was my birthday (they didn’t send cake though, sadly). But no, the idea was to create a set of six cards ready for all those birthdays that spring up on you in the new year. It was also a great opportunity to use the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Everyone received a quarter of a pack for their six projects, giving them lots of versatility and choice. We began with this fun fold card – although I’m not sure everyone found it as fun as I did! It's made from a full sheet of A4 cardstock; the piece you cut off can be trimmed down to use as the belly band – and in fact provided the belly band for the second card, too. Download the FREE tutorial here (opens in new window) This is what the card looks like when it’s opened out. Plenty of space to write. The second card was a simple Z-fold, where you just score the front at the halfway point and fold it back on itself. I set out to make this a masculine card but failed miserably. Never mind – we can always use more floral cards, can’t we? Our third card utilised vellum to tone down this lovely but bold Designer Series Paper. By offsetting it a little, you can add interest. The front is decorated with flowers cut out from the Paper Blooms pack. When using vellum, you don't want your adhesive to show, so make sure you only apply glue or tape behind your elements. I quite like the way the vellum then sits loosely on the card but if you need more security, add a glue dot and cover it with another flower or rhinestone/pearl. Our last three cards were from a three-in-one pattern, which is fun to make and really speeds things along. Basically, you cut three pieces of DSP to the same size, then cut them up in exactly the same pattern – I used a guillotine-style cutter so did them all in one go. Then you mix up the designs to create three different cards. You don't have to follow this pattern, you can do it with vertical or horizontal strips, or use your imagination! If you would like to follow this pattern, however... You can download a free tutorial here (opens in new window) You can earn this gorgeous Designer Series Paper FREE during Sale-a-Bration, which runs to the end of February. This is one of your choices when you place a £45 order. Please message me via my website. Hello my crafty friends and welcome to my blog. Today I am using the Designer Series Paper, Bloom Where You're Planted which is part of the Bloom Where You're Planted Suite of products. I have made cards before just by using Designer Series Paper. This is primarily using dsp but I added the stamped sentiment which is from the Sentimental Rose Kit. I also couldn't resist using the leaf die (again) from Artistic Dies. If you don't mind a little fussy cutting, this is a simple card with only 2 layers. As you can see, I have raised the flower pot to give the card some depth using a dimensional and tied some white twine around it. The foliage piece I also cut from a different sheet from the pack of DSP and adhered it just underneath the top of the pot using some liquid glue which I placed a small amount at the bottom, where the stems are. That way, the foliage is free to move and I think it looks more realistic. Originally, my card stopped there but you know how obsessed I am with THAT die and I still had some left over from a previous project so I added some to this. The gold foil against the green is just divine. I hope you like today's project. If you have any questions, let me know. Hi there stamping friends! Thanks for stopping here at my blog. Today I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project #446 | #GDP446 | Sketch Challenge. It's been a white since I've played along over at the GDP but was super keen to join their sketch challenge for this week. As soon as I saw the sketch over on Instagram I had a few ideas swirling around in my head. I had just recieved an order from Stampin' Up! a few days ago with the amazing Mediterannean Blooms Suite and knew that is what I wanted to use for my card today. I've predominantly used the Mediterranean Blooms DSP for this card. I'm so loving the blue and white DSP patterns and when you combine a couple of these patterns together they make for an amazing project. Doesn't the DSP look like those Mediterranean blue-and-white tile designs? I love it! On the other side of the blue and white DSP designs is are beautiful images of blossoming lemons and oranges. These citrus fruits make a beautiful contrast to the blue and white and are beautiful to fussy cut and use on their own, on the front of your card, like what I've done here. I've layered the lemon image on one of the Spotlight on Nature circles and a foliage die cut from the Citrus Blooms Dies. Due to the busy-ness of the amazing DSP I thought the card didn't need much else other than some Linen Thread, some Opal Rounds and the heat embossed Happy Birthday Sentiment that comes from the Friends for Life Stamp Set. Did I say I'm loving this DSP? I'm sure there will be more project using this stunning paper. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Stamping! Live in Australia? Hello there stamping friends! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today I'm participating in a blog hop for CASE-ing the Catty, to kick off the new challenge for the week. If you've come here from Peta's blog welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome. To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit. And this week we are CASE-ing our choice of sketches that are found on Pg. 22 of the Stampin' Up! 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue. There are 22 sketches so I'm sure there is at least one that inspires you. If you've been following me here for a while you'll know that I love a sketch challenge. I think because I find them the easiest of all the challenges and I usually get a whole heap of different ideas flowing so its easy to get crafting with a sketch. I also say that a sketch is more of a guide or starting point and I usually end up changing something from the sketch. I try to keep the basic design principles of the sketch but sometimes things need to be changed to suit the project better. I was really drawn to this grid like sketch when trying to decide on what sketch I was going to use. I wanted to use one of the sketches that was a little bit of a different design as to what I normally do when creating cards and this was it. I've used the grid design to create my own background using strips of Basic Black and Basic White. I do love a Black and White stripe and thought that this would go perfectly with the orange colourings of the oranges from the Mediterranean Blooms DSP. I've made a couple of projects recently with Blue and White combined with the Mediterranean Blooms Citrus images, which I love but I'm also loving this black and white colour combo with the citrus images too. I've used a few layers of Basic White under the striped grid and then fussy cut the orange image to make it the main focus of the card. I love that with these images they are the 'star of the show' and you don't need to put much else with them if you don't want to. Me, of course, had to add some extra die cuts and some ribbon and trim. A card isn't a card without these things in my book. I've layered one of the Citrus Blooms foliage die cuts, Linen thread and the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check to coordinate with the card. Can't go without that Linen Thread. I finished the card off with a little 'Hello' banner with a ruffled ribbon edge and some Opal Rounds embellishments. This is where I differ from the sketch a little. A banner placed on the card like in the sketch just wouldn't work in my book but put on the card down a little bit is a much better placement. I hope that I've inspired you with my take on this sketch and make sure you check out all the sketches on Pg. 22 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. These sketches are a great way to get that crafting mojo going especially if you are in a crafting slump. Why not try an use all 22?! There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team. Next up on the hop is Michelle Strazds with her amazing take on one of the sketches. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations. We would love to have you join us over at our Facebook group to share your creation CASE-ing a project from the 2024 - 2025 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and join in this weeks challenge.
