Let’s have SNEAK PEAK at the new In Colours, one by one. In this blog, I’ll be showcasing Magenta Madness, a vibrant pink. You can see it below in comparison with some of our other pinks. When I first saw this colour, I thought WOW! It’s bright. Then a few days ago, we went for our walk round our little…
The new annual catalogue is here!! I have been enjoying the new In Good Taste Suite which features the Tasteful Touches bundle. Did you notice the woodgrain background? It's from the coordinating Designer Series Paper. This collection is perfect for collaging elements to make projects for all occasions. This card was part of a sketch challenge using this sketch: Here's another card I made with the collection. I've always been drawn to art with a lot of texture, the type that screams touch the painting even when the signs say don't touch the painting. This paper collection was made for me! CASE from the Die Bundle Section of the Annual Catalogue - pages 173-179 The card on the bottom on the picture was my inspiration using the Blossoms in Bloom bundle! I thought the colours looked amazing together and just changed them around a little bit. I was also recently inspired by a fellow Demonstrator, Tracy Held from Australia, who showed us her version of the split card technique - I'd seen it before but never given it a go. Tracy made me feel a little more confident and so I wish to give her some credit as I just went from her video and didn't look up anyone else. Thanks Tracy! I've started by applying adhesive sheet to the back of a piece of Whisper White cardstock and diecut with the Many Layered Blossoms top layer die and my Stampin' Cut & Emboss - seriously still impressed that one pass cuts all the fiddly bits out! Next I stamped the Blossoms in Bloom large flower in Basic Gray ink onto Smokey Slate cardstock. The cardstock is twice the size of my normal top layer at this stage. I've removed the adhesive cover from the diecut and placed it over the stamped image. I've then used my guillotine to chop the cardstock in half - making two card fronts from one image! I chose to rotate one of them so that my cards both placed the image on the left. I've used So Saffron cardstock to cut some of the smaller flowers with the Many Layered Blossoms die bottom layer, and then Blackberry Bliss for the matching shape in the top layer. I've attached the flowers to the card top using a glue dot. I've used Versamark then Blackberry Bliss ink and covered with Clear Embossing powder before heat setting the greetings from Blossoms in Bloom. They were punched out using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch according to their height and added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Each has a mat of Blackberry Bliss and a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock. The crew would love to see you play along. Once you've joined the Facebook Challenge page - CASE a card, take a photo and post it using the link over on the right. Next up we have our lovely leader, Rebecca

How fabulous is the Whale of a Time Suite? I bought the whole suite collection, which is not something I’d done until this year. Now I’m all over it as a concept as it’s so easy! Public service announcement If you’re shopping online and the suite is showing as unavailable or on backorder, do check the individual items. It may be that just one item is temporarily out of stock which puts the whole suite on backorder. But you can still order the individual items separately. Ok, onto the projects! Above are all of the projects were are currently making in this month’s remote workshops. Guests have had the choice of attending every Tuesday at 1pm, or coming to the Saturday morning class which was this past weekend. They could even attend both if they wished – and one lady turned up “just to watch and heckle”. 😂 Each week the ladies make two simple cards using the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, adding their own greeting stamps or using the Whale Done stamp set if they chose it as an optional extra. For eight of the cards we used Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes, with two shaker cards on a standard Pool Party card base. We began with a double whale week and, thanks Stampin’ Up!®'s fabulous co-ordination, you can punch out the large whales from the DSP. Those who hadn’t upgraded to include the Whale Punch could fussy cut them instead. We set aside one of the whale patterned pieces to use just for this purpose. I love this Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, too – it’s so soft and shimmery. Onto Week 2... which was turtle week and another opportunity to show off the gorgeous DSP... To provide a cute focal point for the projects, we fussy cut the turtles from the DSP. Again, we set aside the piece with the turtles on to use for this. The Whale of a Time Sequins make great accents when stuck down with a Glue Dot. I love these tiny translucent shells. I had die-cut a series of labels using the Tasteful Labels Dies and Stitched Rectangles Dies. All different, so I could cut them all for each person in one go. I did throw in a couple of shaker cards to mix things up a little, which meant some preparation time using the Snow Globes Scenes Dies but worth it I think as they look so fab with the sequins behind. This was the first one; it’s hard to photograph a shaker card but you may just be able to see a cut-out turtle within the Snow Globe Shaker Dome. This was accompanied by another turtle card; both show off the absolutely gorgeous Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper. This Tuesday we will be making another shaker card, this time with a sponged and embossed surround. Yes, more work for me die-cutting and embossing in advance but I really wanted to show off this gorgeous Seabed 3D Embossing Folder. We’ll also be making this fab little notecard. I LOVE this piece of Designer Series Paper, it's so lovely. Guests at this series of classes received a quarter of a pack of the DSP; of course, if you have a whole pack, you get four pieces of this, so can make lots of lovely projects. To finish off, we will be making these cards – I left these to the end because they can be adapted to suit any leftover scraps. This is a great way of using up scraps of any Designer Series paper. So are you inspired by this Suite? My customers have been loving it. If you’re inspired enough to buy it and are in the UK, you can shop the Suite here.

The Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set has beautiful butterflies with a 3D effect, and the one I chose for The Sisterhood of Crafters Design Team theme. Can you guess? It's birds, bees and butterflies!
In this blog post I have step by step instructions for a fun stamping technique with Stampin' Up! products called water lifting. It features an ombre background using Misty Moonlight ink, and I have also used the Free as a Bird stamp set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. Card by Claire Daly Stampin Up Demonstrator Melbourne Australia.
How cool is this stamp set? Phew! Its not on the retiring list which means it's made the 'cut' and into the next annual catalogue. Not far away now friends, just under a month to go. You know, one of the perks of being a demostrator is that I get to see the catalogue before it's released and even better I get to order from it early too. For a long time I used to only buy solid image stamps. I wasn't very confident at colouring my projects. As I practised and began to experiment I grew fonder of the outline style stamps, and here's a great example of how you can get colour into your images too with very little skill. It's also a great way to use up some of that DSP that's just sitting there looking pretty. Here are my cards.. The Perpetual Calender stamp set provided the perfect background image for these funny cards. Stars background for the dog running cirlces. Spotted background for the Cheese. Leaves for the bowl of Cherries and a Splat for the Cat's hairball. Here's a closer look at the fussy cutting. I added in a tiny bit of colouring with some ink from the ink pads and an aqua painter. Just a touch! Stampin' Up! Supplies Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog Thanks for stopping by today

Good Afternoon Everyone, This afternoon I'm taking part in an Ink Stamp share Blog Hop and the theme for this one is the CASE the Catalogue. Now CASE can and is interpreted in many different was, most commonly Copy And Share Everywhere or Copy And Selectively Edit - any can be right - like most things in craft it's our intepretation. I have decided to CASE a card using the Celebrate with Flowers stamp set from pg 63 of the catalogue. I have kept the principal design the same, but have switch up the colours slightly so I'm only using In Colours. Measurements Just Jade Card Stock 1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8" Basic White Card Stock 2pc - 2 7/8" x 5 5/8" Fold your piece of Just Jade card stock along the score line and burnish well. Decide which will be the front, and the cut off 1" from the width to make the card front shorter. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment in versamark ink on the inside of the card towards the right, so that it shows when the card is closed (as the front is shorter). Cover the ink with White embossing powder , gently tap off the excess and heat set using a heat tool. Add one to the basic white pieces to the inside of the card, making sure it sits behind the card front when closed. On the remaining piece of basic white, stamp the leaf image horizontally with the three colours. The way I did this was to stamp the leaves facing the same direct twice, one under the other with a small gap in between, then rotate the stamp and stamp again, this time stamping off first with your ink to create a lighter tone. I also started in the middle of my card stock to help judge my spacing. I didn't have the fancy embellishments that are on the catalogue sample, so I decided to silver emboss some of the flowers that are in the stamp set - heat embossing the same way as above. Add this panel tot he card front and you are done, it's a really simple card and I can image this would look great in a variety of colour combinations.
