SIMPLE STRIPS! Today's card layout was inspired by a thank you card sent to me by Laura Radebaugh, a member of my Stampin' Pretty Pals Community. I absolutely loved it and could hardly wait
I had my first play with the wonderfully colourful Full of Life dsp today. I used just one pattern but there are so many different colours and shapes, a lot of fun to use.A couple of other new products I’ve used here are Spotlight on Nature dies and Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder. The focal point of each card is an image from Attention Shoppers, I’ve gone for all greens on the pot plant card, the cardstock is a returning colour, lemon Lime Twist. The strip of dsp on the cake card has lots of
I wanted to play with the Hey Chuck Bundle again and have more fun with DSP strips. I did them in a different pattern this time.
When someone asks for ways to use up designer series paper (DSP), I answer with "use it like crazy!" Today’s card is a perfect example of how to cut DSP into 1 x 3 strips for a classy screen card "thank you" as well as dress up an envelope flap for a coordinated and impressive delivery! WHAT I
Wow... I just have to say wow. I received a card similar to the cards above a couple of weeks ago and I immediately put it on my 'to-do' list for card making. These cars feature 1' strips of Masterfully Made designer paper from Stampin' UP!, but you could try it with any pack of paper. I've included the dimensions below for you. Thanks to Allison D. for the inspiration!! I used the same dimensions as the sample I received from Allison, but you could also alter this for any size card. It was so fun to play with lots
Today I would like to share with you my cards I made with this month’s SheetLoad of Cards by Call Me Crafty Al. Each month Alicia from Call Me Crafty Al designs a fun template to create multiple handmade cards. Her designs are always fun and easy to use. They include a list of the types of products you need along with measurements to help you cut each piece. For this set of cards I wanted to show you another one of the free products you can get during Sale-a-bration (Jan 4 – Feb 28, 2022). The Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper is free with any $50 order. I love how Stampin’ Up is adding free products that coordinate with other products. This beautiful paper coordinates so perfectly with the Rainbow of Happiness Stamp Set & coordinating Brilliant Rainbow Dies. However, for this card I wanted a couple hearts to go along with the greeting so I also pulled in the Sweet Conversations Stamp Set & Sweet Hearts Dies. When I was thinking about this sketch, I realized it was a great layout for scraps. To illustrate this idea, I decided to cut each pattern from the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP and create 6 different cards. I love finding new ways to use up scraps from other projects. First, add all the stamps you want to use on to one clear block. Ink & stamp. Then add the coordinating dies and adhere in place with a little washi tape. Run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. To quickly make more, stamp again, and do not remove the dies from the first piece of cardstock. Just lay it over the stamped images and hold in place with washi tape. Repeat as many times as you want. I have shared and talked about these cards on my YouTube Channel, so check them out. Do you have trouble tossing those small pieces of Designer Paper left from a project? I sure do! There has to be a way to use them, right? Well you can use them easily with this technique! See? It's quite eye-catching isn't it? I kept the cards very simple to highlight the paper. Each one features the Celebration Tidings stamp set. The card above features the Plaid Tidings designer paper; it's on sale right now too! Watch the video below...
My favorite way to use 6" x 6" paper for making quick & easy cards!!! See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper is the paper of the day!
Once again, all you really need is the DSP (and a sentiment)!! So many of our papers are just gorgeous and can stand alone on a coordinating card base with a sentiment! This sample uses the sheet that has printed borders on either side. Cut correctly, you can get 6 awesome cards with floral backgrounds! I took those pieces and created cards, cutting those pieces apart (but you can just as easily just adhere them to your card base!) For this sample, I cut 3 pieces in varying widths, and then reassembled them onto a Mossy Meadow layer. Add a sentiment, and those darling butterflies, and voila, you are done! Measurements: Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" , scrap Dainty Flowers DSP (N): 1/6 border print (4" x 6" pc, trimmed to 3 3/4" x 5") Mossy Meadow: 4" x 5 1/4", scrap To Make This Card: Trim DSP into 3 pieces of varying widths. Mine are approx 1 1/2", 1 1/4", 1". I had to shave off a little paper to allow for a narrow border. Attach these to Mossy Meadow piece, then attach to folded White card. Stamp sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto scrap of White. Punch out with smooth oval, and then mount onto scalloped Mossy Meadow layer. Attach this to card with Dimensionals. Finish with scattered Brass Butterflies. WOW! This is a clean & simple card that I made last night. I love the way it turned out! It is bright & cheery & could be used for many different occasions. The black in this DSP just pops with the splash of colors added to it with the flower/leaf images. This DSP is the Daffodil Afternoon DSP that is a Sale-a-bration choice & you can get it for FREE with a $50 product order. How did I do it? Look how I layered the words........ 1. I stamped them onto a 2" strip of Very Vanilla card stock & punch it out using the Tailored Tag Punch. 2. I then used Basic Black card stock & punch out 2 Tailored Tag pieces. 3. NOTICE how I cut them using my scissors. One of them I cut in half vertically. And one of them I cut in half horizontally. 4. I then layered them behind the words. This is what it looks like from the back side when all layered together. *NOTE that I did snip off a little bit of the Basic Black card stock from each end of the Tailored Tag Punch once I got it layered together. This way there are even edges all the way around the layered words as shown above. I added the DSP strip along the inside edge of the card & it shows from the front then when the card is shut. Here are the supplies & measurements. stamp set: 'Special Moments'- Sale-a-bration choice & FREE with a $100 product order card stock: Old Olive- 5 1/2 x 7 1/2"- score at 4 1/4" & fold for card base Old Olive- 3/8 x 3 1/4" Basic Black- 2" strip- punch out 2 pieces with the Tailored Tag Punch. Cut & layer behind the words as shown above.
