This important passage in scripture shows us that Jesus is not that same as you and I. He is the Son of God. As he is transfigured, Peter puts his foot in his mouth again. I love Peter. I can relate to his humanity. In the end, the Father tells us that Jesus is His...Read More »
I totally ripped this one off a German Sunday School lesson site. Anyways, I refined it so that you can make the least amount of cuts (in case you, like me, are in charge of preparing crafts beforehand.) This one teaches the story of Jesus healing the paralyzed man really well. As I said, I did rip it off a German site, but I added the verse in English at the top. You need: cardstock, scissors (or cutter), Exacto-Knife, and crayons (optional) First off, you want to cut the "ribbon" part away from the main part. You can do this with scissors...or you can do it with my new favorite office tool: The paper cutter! Cut one: Cut two: (Throw the right-hand portion away.) Next, stack all your "main portions" on top of each other so they are perfectly even. Then, very carefully, and with your non-dominate hand pushing down on the top of the stack (and your thumb out of the way!!!), pull the Exacto-Knife through all four cutting places. If your stack shifts during the cut, restack and press the stack harder with your non-dominate hand. Cutting through the stack like this kills several birds with one stone. First off, you can cut through 2-4 pieces of cardstock at a time--saving time. Secondly, you don't have to worry about cutting through to your table when you do it this way. Okay, here is how you thread the "ribbon" portion through. Remember to thread it through all four slits. The first scene you should see is the man being let down by his friends in the top window, and Jesus looking up in the bottom window. Keep pulling and you will see the man and Jesus interacting. Finally (and don't pull too hard here or you will have to re-thread!), you will see where Jesus healed the man who is now holding his bed. Template: The End!

Our continuing Exploration through the Life of Jesus Has brought us to the time when Jesus performs another miracle. JESUS HEALS THE PARALYZED MAN. We added NEW CARDS to our DO You Know? Wall. My Expectation is for the KIDDOS to be able to answer each of these by the end of the lesson. We had two new words to add to our WORD WALL. I chose PARALYZED and FRIEND. We reviewed the WORD AMAZED!! Those are important words for the KIDDOS to understand for this lesson to make more sense to them. Our VISUAL Aid for this lesson was literally made out of a box. I cannot even remember what was originally in the box....but, I knew I needed to keep it because of the nice "VIEWING WINDOW" it had. I'm always thinking, could I use "THIS" in Bible Class....before I throw thing away. I Just decorated the box with paper I had purchased at Dollar Tree....The box already had the plastic front, which made it great for a "DIORAMA." The people were copied out of a copyable clipart book, that we have owned for a really long time. The KIDDOS really enjoyed my using this DIORAMA while telling the story. This is the SONG we learned with this lesson. This song was fun to sing using the paralyzed man on the mat that we used for our review game...the KIDDOS loved "LETTING HIM DOWN GENTLY" as we sang the song. The song can be heard by clicking the following link. "Through The Roof" song--by Ronda Duvall Our MEMORY VERSE was Mark 2:12! To hear the MEMORY VERSE song click on this link. Memory Verse Song MARK 2:12 We Added a NEW Card to our GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN Timeline!! The Kiddo's TAKE-HOME project was a Quilt and Paralyzed man with yarn on each corner. The KIDDOS could lay the man on the quilt and lower him down. This weeks REVIEW Game was another Dramatization style game. I would have four KIDDOS answer questions from the lesson....They would then go get a corner of the "mat" and we would lower him down by answering more questions from the lesson. Then we would repeat the process until all the children had a chance to be one of the four friends. As you know, the second week of the LESSON is when we REVIEW. It gives me opportunity to correct any misunderstandings. It also, gives opportunities for the KIDDOS who missed class the first week to "CATCH UP." This is the Week we SAY our MEMORY VERSE from MEMORY and We do an ACTIVITY we add to our EXPLORER JOURNAL. This LESSON'S EXPLORER JOURNAL ACTIVITY was a variation of something I had seen....I just made it on my computer using clipart I have purchased. The KIDDOS added ropes to the four friends hands and colored their "movie strip." These will be placed in the KIDDOS EXPLORER JOURNAL. The KIDDOS take home their EXPLORER JOURNAL at the end of a TOPIC. So, this one will stay in the classroom until we complete our Lessons on the LIFE OF CHRIST. We are enjoying our continuing Exploration of the LIFE of CHRIST. I am enjoying teaching the LESSONS and I know the KIDDOS are loving learning about our LORD! Blessings, Ronda
These ten lepers coloring pages are the perfect resource for your Sunday School class or Bible lesson to share with your kiddos!
Parem. Continuem jogando as bexigas. Continuem jogando as bexigas. Continuem jogando as bexigas. Our continuing Exploration through the Life of Jesus Has brought us to the time when Jesus performs another miracle. This time Jesus heals Jarius' Daughter. We added NEW CARDS to our DO You Know? Wall. My Expectation is for the KIDDOS to be able to answer each of these by the end of the lesson. We had three new words to add to our WORD WALL. I chose TALITHA CUMI, MOURNER and SYNAGOGUE. Those are important words for the KIDDOS to understand for this lesson to make more sense to them. We Added a NEW Card to our GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN Timeline!! Our MEMORY VERSE was Mark 5:26! To hear the MEMORY VERSE song click on this link. Memory Verse Song Mark 5:26 This is the SONG we learned with this lesson. It is a short and simple song to learn. The song can be heard by clicking the following link. Jarius' Daughter....Song By Ronda Duvall Our VISUAL Aid for this lesson was a picture for a set of visual aid cards I purchased several years ago. I really like this picture...It had all the people that were in the house with Jesus represented and if you look through the window you will see the mourners outside! The Kiddo's TAKE-HOME project was a 3D bed with a little girl on it that they were able to make "RISE" when we practiced saying, "TALITHA CUMI." I designed the bed on my computer. Then, using various clip art I have access to I gave it a WOOD look and a quilted top. I drew the little girl a LOOOOOONG time ago...my wonderful husband scanned several of my drawings into the computer. This allows me to manipulate them for size, color, etc. If you would like to see how this TAKE HOME "works" please click on the following link. Clicking on the picture will NOT open the video. Jesus Says, "Talitha Cumi"..."Little Girl Arise." This weeks REVIEW Game was a fun BOARD GAME. We all worked together to get JESUS from the Sea of Galilee to Jarius' house. The KIDDOS answer a question from the lesson, roll a die and then move "Jesus" the number of spaces the die tells them. There are a few "bumps" in the way as Jesus makes His way to Jarius' house. This LESSON'S EXPLORER JOURNAL ACTIVITY was a POCKET "BED" and a two LITTLE GIRL...The KIDDOS colored the area around the pillow and both the front and back of the little girl. They love making her get out of bed, flip around so she is smiling and then say, "give her something to eat." I am loving teaching the LESSONS on the LIFE OF JESUS. I feel like I am learning more and more!! I enjoy writing, coming up with the crafts, activities, games, etc. It can be challenging at times....but, it is always worth it when I see the KIDDOS enjoying learning events from the LIFE of JESUS!! Blessings, Ronda
After King Solomon, the nation of Israel fell into a civil war and divided into the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah (where Jerusalem was located). Israel (the Northern Kingdom) fell to the Assyrians around 722 B.C. while Judah continued for more than 120 years. The prophets warned Judah, however, that judgment was coming for their sin. Jeremiah was one of those prophets. He spoke for God and told them they would be conquered by the Babylonians and would be in exile for 70 years. “Exile is coming,” He declared! This was not a message the people wanted to hear, but it was true and in 587 B.C. Jerusalem and the temple were finally destroyed by the Babylonians and most of the people were deported to Babylon. This Exile Is Coming! Jigsaw Puzzle will help kids understand the sorrow Jeremiah felt over the coming destruction of the city and temple He loved.
Jesus Walks on Water I have the last two lessons out of sequence. That's what happens when you go on vacation and then try to catch up! So, Jesus walking on water comes before His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. I'm not including an Easter lesson because at our church we have a sunrise service and no Sunday School that day. Here's the lesson on Jesus' Walking on Water. Print these out on card stock. I usually cut them out prior to the class because the younger children have a hard time cutting them out. Then, color your masterpiece! Ella colors her craft. Hannah, Mattison and Parker display their completed crafts. What fun!

This mini-book Bible Study for kids is intended to help teachers and parents invite kids to dwell in Scripture and develop an understanding of the life of Jesus. Seven of Christ's miracles can be read and discussed, either all at once or in separate settings. Questions to help mull over and draw connections along with space to jot down thoughts is provided. You could use this study in many ways- group study and discussion, individual time in Scripture and prayer, or ever as more of a scavenger hunt and share approach. I made these Bible Studies to use with my students specifically as a way to help them understand that Christ instituted and is the minister of the Sacraments. The Jesus of the Bible is the same Jesus that desires to know and be known by them. This group of miracles was selected because each connects so well to the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The miracle of the Transubstantiation is embedded in the character of these events from the life of Christ. Miracles in the study include: -Wedding at Cana -Large catch of fish -Walking on water -Feeding of 5000 -Calming of the storm -Transfiguration -Resurrection After reading each story, the kids are invited to consider three questions: -How did people react to the miracle? -What Bible verse sticks with you from this passage? -How does this miracle connect with ways Jesus works in our lives and in the Church today? All of these stories can point to a continuing message of the mercy of God, his desire to make His power known to us in ways we can understand, and the continuing of ministry of miracles through the Church and Her Sacraments. Click here for the four page printable: (Print two sided, cut horizontally, layer, fold vertically, staple. Order doesn't really matter- with the exception of the cover- because the questions are the same for each miracle.) Come back on Wednesday for a second Bible Study focusing specifically on the healing ministry of Jesus.
