Today's card is another one I made using the 'Tile Effect' technique and was made for Michelle, a member of the card swap group, for her birthday last week. The top section of a Whisper White panel was scored at 1cm intervals to make the tile effect and lightly sponged with Crumb Cake. The flowers from Stippled Blossoms were then stamped using Raspberry Ripple and Pink Pirouette with the leaves in Old Olive. A sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes was added and a knot of Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin ribbon tied around the panel before matting onto a Raspberry Ripple card blank. The Stippled Blossoms flowers have a sort of vintage-y look about them so I think they really suit this technique. Have you had a chance to browse the new catalogue yet? What a lot of lovely new products there are and my 'wish list' grows each time I look! If you would like to purchase anything (and take advantage of my free p&p offer) then please get in touch and I'll be happy to help. Until next time - Happy Crafting Margaret x
Love this sentiment from the stamp set Trust God--"Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God." Such a good reminder to do what we can and stop worrying about what we cannot control. I made this card this weekend at my scrapbooking retreat, using the Stippled Blossoms stamp set. "Stippled" refers to the way the image is made up of hundreds of little tiny dots, like an Impressionist painting. Stippled Blossoms is also a 2-Step Stampin' set, which provides the beautiful color variations you see on this sample... and it's SO EASY! You stamp...

She's chosen some beautiful colors for us to play with: These colors seemed so pretty and feminine that I had to pull out the Stippled Blossoms set: I used the faux letterpress technique of sponging directly on the embossing folder before running it through. Makes for such lovely depth and dimension: Sorry for the short post, friends! Not to mention they are cutting into my craft time. I was able to find time to make a card for this week Retrosketches challenge. Here is my card. I just received my new PTI order and I'm so in love with the new The Sweet Life set. I can't seem to put it down. There are so many color combos you can do. We're going to a wedding this weekend, and I think I'm going to re-create this card and make a wedding card. This card wasinspired by Sandi MacIver. Really love the color combination and the fabulous florets stamp set she've used unfortunately i don't have the stamp or else i'll CASE it. I treid with other stamp but it did not look great as hers so i decided to use stippled blossoms and choosed rich razzleberry, pretty in pink, certainly celery and early espresso for my color. i also used versamark and white embossing powder. My paper is the same as hers very vanilla and crumb cake. Here's her youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CRDTXkQcxo&feature=youtu.be
The retiring set, Stippled Blossoms, is showcased in today's post.

I saw a video HERE on how to make this "card in a box" card and I just had to give it a try. How fun is this! It did take some time and I don't think I would make a lot of them but will be making some more with different stamp sets and papers. Stamp sets used are: Stipples Blossoms, Papillion Potpourri, and Bring on the Cake. Papers used are: Coastal Cabana and Very Vanilla cardstock and Afternoon Picnic designer series paper. Best thing about this card is it folds down flat so you can mail it. The one thing I did different from the video is when she has you cut the paper to 6", I cut mine to 5-1/2" so it would be the size of a standard card to fit in the Medium Envelopes that Stampin' Up! sells. I used the Envelope Liners Framelits Dies to line the envelope with a piece of designer paper from the Afternoon Picnic paper pack. Happy Stampin'- DeAnn

Yesterday I shared with you the video for this quick and easy card above and in the video I mentioned how you can stamp a full sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" whisper white card stock and cut it to make 9 cards. I wanted to show you exactly how to do that when you stamp a one sheet wonder! You can create 9 note cards with just half a pack of the note card and envelope sets, 2 sheets of island indigo card stock, 1 sheet of whisper white card stock and less than half a spool of crisp cantaloupe thick baker's twine!! If you do the math, that comes out to very little per card... what a great gift...
Ohhh there is bee in my bonnet today! Been going crazy looking at my photos on blogger. Wondering why why why do they look so horrible? I spend so much time photoshopping to get the whites white, and the colors just right only to find out that Google has just added a nifty little feature called "Auto Enhance" . Did you know about this? Well if you're a little late on the memo like me, all you need to do is go into Google Plus. Click on home in the upper left corner. A drop down menu will come up. Next click on Settings and check the box for Auto Enhance "off" if that's your preference. Now the proof is in the pudding. Have to wait and see how the pics look when they post - see if the contrast is turned way up like on the last ones. So frustrating!!! Ok .. vented... deep breath... A new challenge starts today at Fusion Card Challenge! This one is right up my alley! Look at the pretty purple flowers!!! Purple not your thing? Well... you can work with just the sketch if you like. Sometimes I like to think I'm clever and try to put them both together, but not this week. I started with a white card stock base. I stamped some leaves, and yellow flowers, and then embossed only the left side of the card. I thought the embossing would look pretty peeking out from the flowers. The side with the sentiment I left untouched. I've had a few friends going through a hard time lately - health issues - not looking good. Thought maybe a little note from a friend might bring a smile. I sure hope so! This set doesn't have a matching die so I just fussy cut them! It was easy since the flowers are large and easy to hang on to! Want to see more projects from the rest of the design team? Just click on their names below to jump to thier blogs. Happy Sunday Peeps!!! Today I am excited to share that Lesley from The Paper Players asked me to fill in for a month while one of the Players was on vacation!! I was honored and happily agreed! This week the challenge is a sketch from Lesley: I pulled out another favorite new Stampin Up sets called "Stippled Blossoms". This set is gorgeous which makes it easy to make a pretty card, and you all know love flowers. This time I used a couple of retired things along with some current. I stamped the flowers with wisteria and concord crush (retired) inks. The leaves are done with luck limeade and artichoke. I then used my trusty paper snips and cut them all out. I added them to the white embossed piece with some dimesionals. Just arranging til I got something I like. The DSP on here is the other retired item on my card, it comes from the Sweet Shop paper pack. The sentiment is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set. I added some wisteria bakers twine and a few basic pearls to finish it off. Be sure and visit The Paper Players Blog to see what the others did with this fun sketch. Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!! Vicki
You've all seen it... cutting beautiful designer paper at an angle, and placing 2 coordinating patterns on the card base... so this probably isn't anything new.. but.. can we just talk about how gorgeous this Sale-a-Bration Softly Stippled paper is!? OH MY GOSH!! You practically cannot go wrong by selecting any 2 patterns from this paper pack and combining them on a card! Instructions / Dimensions: What do I mean by Sale-a-Bration paper? I've been playing with my Stippled Blossoms stamps again. I hadn't thought of using these flowers in this type of layout until I saw this card by Lesley of Always Playing with Paper. I was demonstrating this stamp with some friends on Saturday and this what came of it. I love how easy this is to "paint". I stamped the solid flower in a very light pink and used the Stamp-a-majig for placement to overstamp the outline flower in Regal Rose. Then I used my Aqua Painter to color the dots. It shades automatically. Darlene DeVries has a wonderful video here if you'd like to watch it done. I masked the flowers and used the same technique for the leaves. The sentiment is a NBUS. Since I was very recently introduced and invited to join Word Art Wednesday, I thought I'd enter there. Thanks so much for the visit. Enjoy! ********** Card Recipe Stamps: Stippled Blossoms, Trust God Ink: Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose (retired), Pistachio Pudding, Wild Wasabi, Tuxedo Black (Memento), SU Marker (Chocolate Chip) Paper: 110# Solar White (Neena), Basic Black, Shimmery White Other: Aqua Painter, SAMJ, Moonshine Sequins (SSS), Simply Scored, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted
