Do you love a colorful Christmas! If so, you will love this Fun Fold I made for the BackStage Swaps in New Orleans! This is the same Fun Fold I did for Fun Fold Friday recently and you can watch the video on how to make this fold there! I made one for a UK Christmas and the Merry is for the USA stampers! I made 10 of each. For the ornament I embossed the snowflake with White Embossing Powder and then used my Wink of Stella to color the stripes. This Fun Fold opens up twice! See video to see it in action! Kindest Gnomes, Christmas Card,Xmas card, Fun Fold, Waterfall card, Mini Catalogue July-Dec 2022
Heart of Christmas Blog Hop: Mistletoe Magic Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the fifth Art with Heart Team Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2022. So glad you are joining us. Here are two Christmas cards using the same layout but different colour combinations: Firstly, I need to apologise for my photography. I had numerous delays in creating my card for this Blog Hop and by the time I was able to photograph the projects the sun had moved and I needed to move my table to the edge of my driveway to have sunlight rather than shade. I will try to re-photograph in-between rain over the next couple of days. I am part of the Stamping Cove Design Team and created the green card for the Christmas in July challenge. At that time I tossed up whether I would have a green (Soft Succulent) or a red (Cherry Cobbler) base. As I initially chose the Soft Succulent colour combo, I thought I would create with the Cherry Cobbler base for this Blog Hop and show both cards. I started by gold heat embossing the bottom and a side of the Cherry Cobbler card front using the larger mistletoe stamp from the Mistletoe Magic Stamp Set. I blended over the edges of the card front with some Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' ink using a Blending Brush. The effect is minimal so think if I was re-creating the card I may use Merry Merlot Classic ink. Some White Craft ink was splattered over the card front before being mounted on some Merry Merlot card-stock and then centred onto the Cherry Cobbler card base. The two mistletoe stamps were gold embossed with Versamark ink, Gold Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun onto Shimmery White card-stock. (Have you seen the Stampin' Up! heat Embossing Additions Tool Kit on page 49 of the July-December Mini Catalogue. It is brilliant to use.) The mistletoe was water-coloured in Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green inks with a fine Water Painter. They were die cut using the Mistletoe dies. A detailed mistletoe die, cut some gold detailed mistletoe from Gold Foil. The mistletoe was arranged and adhered with Mini Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Glue Dots - all of my favourite adhesives. A bow tied with Gold Satin Edged Ribbon and Gold Elegant Trim was added with Glue Dots. A white heat embossed sentiment from the same stamp set was fussy cut and popped up on Mini Dimensionals. Gold Festive Pearls were sprinkled around as the finishing touch. The card inner was gold heat embossed with the smaller mistletoe stamp and a small piece of Gold detailed die cut mistletoe was added over the top. A thin strip of Cherry Cobbler card-stock was adhered on the right side. A Basic White C6 Envelope was also gold embossed with part of the larger mistletoe stamp. CARD 2: The Soft Succulent card was created in the same way. The blended emboss resist background used Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen inks over the gold heat embossing. The mistletoe was water-coloured with Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron inks and the berries with Calypso Coral ink. Some gold die cut mistletoe, a multi stranded bow (using White Glittered Organdy ribbon and Gold Simply Elegant Trim) and Iridescent Pearls added that touch of lusciousness. With this card, I forgot to add the white splattering and some water sprinkles till I had almost finished the card. Undeterred, I splattered and sprinkled BUT Murphy's Law prevailed and the splattering of white craft ink added a huge splat. I didn't have time to re-do the background so tried to fix it. For me the error is still noticeable. Certainly disappointing. I did remember to splatter the background of the Cherry Cobbler background before adding the mistletoe, etc! It is always a delight to see everyone's creations and I am sure there will be gorgeous Christmas projects on show so don't miss checking out each blog. I just received some swaps back in the mail today - yippee! Always a fun treat to find swaps in the mailbox. As I was swooning over them, I was immediately drawn to these three card made with the Delivering Cheer stamp set, new from the 2021 Jul-Dec Mini Catalog. This set reminds me of paper dolls (hmm...that dates me, doesn't it?) Check them out... On Wednesday afternoon I hosted a private Crafternoon Tea party for a group of 9 ladies who work together. There was a mix of experienced crafters, casual crafters and total novice crafters so coming up with a project to do in 2 hours, along with a cream tea was a bit of a challenge. I turned to an old faithful project which I first shared in Sale-A-Bration 2014 and I even have a video on how to make it which you can find HERE This is how the card looks before you open it, almost like a little book tied up with our lovely Real Red Stitched Satin. When you open the card you get the full wow factor of the Concertina style. We used the Candy Cane Lane papers, the card uses one whole piece of 12x12 paper plus a little card for the layers and then I cut up one of the pieces to add the little images onto the design. We have also used the Stitched with Cheer stamp set for the little background stars which currently has 10% off until Monday 28th November. I thought you might like to see the set up for the event that I ran. I love setting up my tables with the vintage china and making it a special event for my customers. I don't love the washing up quite so much! I called upon my friends at Tarte and Berry (look them up on Google) to supply some gorgeous Mince Pie Slice and Salted Caramel Brownies to add to the usual scones that I supply. They went down very well and everyone seemed to have a great time. Thank you for visiting me ladies, hope to see you again soon.

It's another day and I have another Sweet Candy Canes card, this time a vision in red. What do I love about this card? Well for starters, how about those cute candy canes? The stamps and Candy Cane dies make them so easy! And then, there's that Split Card background - OMG, what a great way to add some peek-a-boo interest! I used the Split Card Textures dies with Basic White cardstock, and layered it over a piece of the Sweetest Christmas patterned paper. Such an impact! And so easy! And look at that sweet bow! This is from the Country Wreaths dies, but is the perfect decoration for these candy canes, don't you think? So what do you think? Have I sold you on the Sweetest Christmas Suite yet? If you'd like to order any of the products mentioned here, head over to this site. And if you're not sold yet, c'mon back tomorrow - I'll have another go at you! Hello and welcome again, Firstly, my apologies for being absent for so long. In my last post I said I would be having a break for about 10 days but didn't expect it to be this long. I was going on a short holiday but after 5 days was tested positive for Covid. I still thought I would only be feeling unwell for perhaps a week, but it is now 15 days and still not over it. However today is the first day I have felt like doing anything in the craft room. I have used one of the 2 dies from the Split Card Textures Dies (#159162) to cut the Basic White card (#159228). This was attached to the Sweet Sorbet base card (#159266). The leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set (#152559) were stamped with Granny Apple Green ink (#147095) for the larger leaves, and Parakeet Party ink (#159208) for the smaller leaves. The Forever Flourishing Dies (#152714) were used to cut the stamped leaves and the Gold Foil (#132622) leaves. The Gold Foil was backed with the Adhesive Sheets (#152334). The larger leaves were attached using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108). Thinking Of You is from the Go To Greetings stamp set (#158763) and stamped with Sweet Sorbet ink (#159216). I used a Seasonal Labels Die (#156299) to cut the sentiment. This was also attached with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope you are all keeping well. “Love what you do and share what you love” lesleyjendra.stampinup.net [email protected]

Pecan Pie with Les Shoppes Fancy Fold Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week, however, we are starting with the new colours and currently showcasing the new Core colours. This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a mid brown called Pecan Pie. Pecan Pie is part of the Neutrals Colour Family and is a warm brown with a yellow base. This colour is a lovely neutral when used for earthen pots, trees, parts of buildings and all things brown. Pecan Pie is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin' Blends Combo; Neutrals Designer Series Paper as well as Earthen Elegance, Let’s Go Fishing, Les Shoppes & Glorious Gingham DSPs; plus Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon; and Opaque Ovals. Pecan Pie card-stock, ink, Blends Combo, Stampin’ Write Marker, Les Shoppes & Let’s Go Fishing DSP and Bordered Ribbon have been used in the creation of this project plus a range of non-Pecan Pie bits and pieces. As mentioned, Pecan Pie is a lovely mid brown and as a neutral could be combined with many different colours. I tossed around a number of ideas for my project for this blog hop, but then decided to show case Pecan Pie through some Designer Series Papers that incorporate Pecan Pie. The main DSP used on this project is the gorgeous Les Shoppes DSP. Buildings that include Pecan Pie in various ways were selected. I also used a map design from the Let’s Go Fishing DSP and couldn’t resist adding a couple of images from the Zoo Crew DSP to bring a touch of fun to my fancy fold card. The Designer Series Paper sale will finish at the end of this month - so don’t miss out buy gorgeous Stampin’ Up! DSPs. I have used 3 different DSPs, but there are many others to select from that are currently 15% off. The fold is a Book Jacket fold, recently demonstrated on uTube by Susan Campfield, a USA demonstrator. To me, this fold was so apt as the card was to feature a book shop on the front. The fold also is giving a sense of dimension, eg buildings on different streets. A few water-colour backgrounds were created with Pecan Pie, Pebbled Path, Petal Pink, Balmy Blue and Old Olive Classic Stampin’ inks, on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and the wide Water Painter from the set of 3 Water Painters. The Heat Tool was used to move some of the colour around and to speed up drying of the coloured panels. Before the panels were fully dry the Embossed Brick 3D Embossing Folder added some texture to the cobbled road/footpath sections. Once the panels had fully dried a Blending Brush was used to lightly apply some definition to the embossed area using Pecan Pie ink. This addition is not really obvious in the photos but at the time of applying a tad of extra colour the change in definition could be seen. A number of shops were fussy cut from the Les Shoppes DSP. Potted plants, the chalk board and the “up-stairs” asian lanterns together with extra railing from the asian cafe and an extra window planter were also fussy cut. A couple of oh so cute critters were fussy cut from the Zoo Crew DSP. (I know you can only see one zany critter, but wait …) Extra colour/texture was added to a number of areas. Light splattering was applied to the blue sky and the cobbled road with a Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write Marker. Some shading was added to the critters with Stampin’ Blends Combos, including Pecan Pie, Petal Pink, Smokey Slate, Basic Black and Crumb Cake. Some Pool Party Blending was lightly applied to the Asian cafe window. Some Wink of Stella was added to the window, and some other spots. Here is a top view of the fancy fold. It was created with 2 pieces of Thick Very Vanilla card-stock, with one piece scored to create a 2.5cm square spine and the other piece included the Book Jacket Flap. It was really important to burnish the scored folds with a Bone Folder. The adhesive of choice to form the Fancy Fold was Tear ‘n Tape - strong and wouldn’t ooze and stick where it wasn’t wanted. Here is the decorated flap. It shows another shop with an artistic echidna (or hedgehog for those in the Northern Hemisphere), and look - she is painting the shop (wink, wink). All of the pieces were arranged and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Dimensionals/Mini Dimensionals. The spine of the book was stamped with a vertical sentiment from the Vertical Blooms stamp set. Pecan Pie ink was used for the sentiment. All of the panels were mounted on slightly larger pieces of Pecan Pie card-stock. The final touches included some Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon down the card spine that will enable easy lifting of a little gift - eg a long chocolate, that is to be hidden in the spine. The ribbon is tied together at the top with a Linen twine bow. I couldn’t resist a little bling, so added some Champagne Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems. Some were scattered around and others were strategically added as door knobs. Inside the card, a piece of a map from the Let’s Go Fishing DSP was adhered to the flap. To give some extra definition a line was drawn near the edge with the fine tip of a Pecan Pie Marker. So as not to add further bulk on the inner centre panel, a piece of Basic White card-stock was edged with the Light Pecan Pie Blend to replicate a sense of the mounting. A thin strip of left over water-coloured panel was adhered to the right and fussy cut books and a flower linked the inner to the book shop on the card front. A part of a shop was cut from the edge of the Les Shoppes DSP and adhered to a Very Vanilla C6 Envelope to link the envelope to the card it will hold. It’s a great way to use partial images from the edges of DSP. Thank you so much for dropping in to check out my Pecan Pie project. I hope this fancy fold brought you a smile. There is more Pecan Pie creativity to see, so continue your way around the blog hop. Just click the "next" graphic below to be taken to the blog of a special friend, the lovely Rachel Palmieri. I am looking forward to checking out Rachel’s creation. I do love seeing everyones' projects - there is always so much inspiration. I hope to see you next week when we will be featuring Balmy Blue, from the Subtles Colour family, as we continue the weekly 2023-2024 Colour Creations Blog Hop series. Stay well, stay safe and be kind to yourself and others. Hi! Wowee, Week 14 of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hops! We are well into this year's series of Blog Hops, with only 10 more to go in 2021. Have you enjoyed seeing our Christmas inspiration each week? I certainly have! This week's group of cards comes courtesy of the July 2020 Sheetload Of Cards template. I really liked this one! It's tricky to see in the photo, but the Cherry Cobbler DSP on the right side of the card is actually on the inside of the card - the card front has been shortened by an inch. The cut off section was used for the front sentiment label. Waste not, want not! Here you can see better how the DSP goes on the inside. It's from the Sweet Stockings DSP, just like the DSP I used on the front with the cute critters in the stockings. Super cute! The sentiments are from Words Of Cheer. As always, here is my group of four cards. My stash certainly is building nicely! Please do continue your way around our Hop tonight - it doesn't matter where you start, just keep on hopping until you get back to where you started. Next up is the very lovely Michele Taylor with what I'm sure will be a visual treat! All the blogs tonight will have a link back to mine, as I am hosting the Hop this week. If you find a broken link, just pop on back here, where you can pick up your trail from the links below: Michele Taylor Catherine Proctor Kate Morgan Claire Daly Rachel Woollard Caroline Manwaring Christine Blain Theresa Gerrard Andrea Sargent Ros Davidson Rosa Leyden Sharon Davern Judy May Bye for now, Tina
