This was one of the Sale-a-Bration sets that I thought I wouldn't want or need, until I took a closer look at the sentiments. There are greetings that cover love, friendship, thanks, and sympathy....quite a spectrum. So, I went ahead and chose it for my free SAB item. It wasn't even in the house 24 hours when I needed to make a sympathy card. (Gosh, there have been a lot of those recently.) I found that when using the DistINKtive stamps, I get a much better image if I ink the stamp using a sponge dauber, rather than pressing the stamp on the ink pad. Because they are so finely detailed, the ink tends to get in the grooves and mess up the details. A light inking with a sponge dauber works quite well for me! For good measure, I huff on the stamp before pressing it on the cardstock. The soon-to-be-available Rectangle Stitched Framelits were used here, but I shortened both the image and the greeting panels. How, you ask? Easy! After cutting the image and the greeting (with both of them placed close to one side of the Framelit), I popped them out and then moved the Framelit over to cut off the part I didn't want. You can feel when the "teeth" fit into the previously cut stitches, so it lines up perfectly. Feed the cardstock through the Big Shot with the part you want cut off going in first. You only need the make sure the first part goes through (don't crank it all the way through!), then back it out. Here's another tip: Cut a mask by stamping on a sticky note and trimming just inside the edges of the image. Make sure some of the masked image is showing when you stamp the next layer because the stamp won't reach right up to the mask, leaving a gap as shown between the two larger lilies. I did better when I stamped the smaller lily. As pretty as this card turned out, I sure hope it's a long time before I need to make another one. Today I made some beautiful sympathy cards using the FREE Lasting Lily Stamp Set. Yes, it’s FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $100 order. Aren’t they just gorgeous?
Hello there! We only have 2 weeks left to Sale-A-Brate, and this week I'm going to be focusing on the gorgeous stamp set Lasting Lily as my PRODUCT OF THE WEEK. This is a Level 2 SAB reward that you can earn for FREE with a $100 order. This is a larger set with 16 stamps and features the amazing detail of the Distinctive design. I started with a Highland Heather base and ran it though the Big Shot using the Subtle Embossing Folder. I then stamped 2 leaves in the background using Pear Pizzazz ink onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped 3 lilies with Daffodil Delight ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut them out with Paper Snips. I then stamped 2 leaves and 3 stems with Old Olive ink and cut them out with Paper Snips as well. The coordinating Lily Framelits have sold out, but these images are easy enough to cut out the old-school way:) I added a bit of shading to the center of the lilies with Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry Watercolor Pencils. I then went over them with a Blender Pen to blend the colors slightly. I added the middle lily to the center with Dimensionals, and added the leaves with Glue Dots. I tucked the other 2 lilies behind the center one with Glue Dots. I then attached the 3 stems to the flowers with Glue Dots and trimmed off the excess at the bottom. I looped a piece of Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon in a zigzag fashion and secured it in place with Glue Dots. I stamped the sentiment with Old Olive ink onto Soft Sea Foam Cardstock and used the Lily Framelits to cut them out. You could easily substitute ovals or another label die or punch that you have. I'll offer a substitute in my video later on today. Click on the Facebook link to the right to see it. Next, I tucked a piece of a Pearlized Doily under the ribbon and attached it with Glue Dots. You can get 2 packages of Pearlized Doilies as a SAB reward with a $50 order, but only for 2 more weeks! I layered the labels and attached them with Dimensionals. I finished it off with a few sequins from the Iridescent Assortment, using tiny drops of Liquid Tombow. My DEAL OF THE WEEK is the Old Olive Linen Thread from the Occasions Catalog. You'll get a roll for FREE with a $30 order through Sunday! If you bump up your order to $50 you'll earn a SAB product of your choice in addition. If you bump up your order to $100, you can pick the Lasting Lily stamp set for FREE! I'll be sharing lots of ideas all week long to give you inspiration:) If you place your $50 or $100 order online using HOST CODE: TFUBXAMU you'll earn a 💗 or two, helping you to earn a $50 Shopping Spree! Read all the details under the Rewards Program tab above. You can browse the catalogs by clicking on them to the right and you can shop from my Online Store by clicking on the 'Shop Now' button. Stop back tomorrow for another project featuring the Lasting Lily stamp set! Thanks so much for coming by:)
Today I am sharing the gorgeous & simple card I am enclosing in the packets I am mailing to my customers with their new catalogs featuring the Lasting Lily stamp set. Welcome once again to the Stampers by the Dozen monthly blog hop. Stampin’ Up! is really focusing on #simplestamping and I am loving it! But - there is always a ‘but’ isn’t there? Sometimes we want do to do just that little bit more or appeal to a different more experienced cardmaker - someone like me that has a lets call it a ‘large’ stash of goodies to use and a heap of tools at their disposal. So this month we are stepping it up, we are simply Stamping a simple project and then showing you a stepped up version. So I have chosen the Lasting Lilly set and the its coordinating Framelits to work with. If you check out the examples in the online store HERE you will see a nifty bundle (so one button to press) that will net you this stamp set FREE during Sale-A-Bration. And Stepped Up version 1. And Stepped Up version 2. And the inside of all of the cards is the same - left blank to write a fitting sentiment at the time. So stamps, ink and card - makes for a lovely card that anyone would love to receive. Stepped up - version 1. Cut the white card front a different size, add some trim and some extra stamping on the Old Olive base card gives you a different look without adding to much in the way of extra supplies. Stepped up - version 2. Add in some extra tools like a Big Shot, Coordinating framelits, different trim, dimensionals and yes we have a similar card but now there is more WOW factor don't you think? I used the new Lasting Lily stamp set that will be available as a free item with an order of $100+ during Sale-a-bration beginning January 3 to create a super simple sympathy card to share with you…
The set I had to have the moment I saw it in the 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Catalog was Lasting Lily. It's just sooooo beautiful! And, it includes quite a few sentiments, most notably, some really nice sympathy sentiments. Here are a few cards that I created on a recent Stamping to Share Facebook Live, along with a link to the rebroadcast if you happened to miss it over on my Stamping to Share Facebook Page. This is a card I used in a recent swap. I love the wood textures paper on this along with the Woodlands Embossing

Hello and Happy Hump Day! I'm back with another Design Team card for The Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC368! Today's sketch was a fun chance to use the beautiful Sale-a-Bration Freebies.... Lovely Lily Pad Stamp Set, Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper, and the Lily Pad Dies! I absolutely adore this gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP! It has the most gorgeous images and colors! I used Pretty Peacock as my cardbase color and Flirty Flamingo to matt my layers of DSP. Both sides of the same sheet of paper were used in this card. Side A was used for the background panel and side B for the stitched square panel. The Lovely Lily Pad stamps were stamped with Versamark onto Thick Whisper White Cardstock and heat embossed in White. I used an ink blending tool to blend the Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green Ink onto the stamped images and used the coordinating dies to cut the images out. I added a little darker pink Stampin' Blend marker to some of the ink blended areas to add a little contrast. This card is so pretty and was really easy to create! Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings, Tina

Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Today I'm participating in a Blog Hop with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world as part of Kylie Bertucci's Demonstrator Training Group. I hope you are creatively inspired as you hop along with us! One of the hardest times to find the right words of encouragement and support is when someone has lost a loved one. My sister’s husband passed away last week, and I found it hard to find the words to express what I wanted to say to her. Sometimes there are no words that will accomplish what we really desire, to take away or ease the pain and sorrow someone is feeling. A friend expressed it this way to me: “I wish I could think of something encouraging to say, but everything that comes to mind pales compared to you losing a family member. It just plain sucks.” I’m finding that creating a card for someone not only expresses a special message in words, but it also carries a part of me along with that message. The process is somewhat therapeutic for me as I choose just the right colors, stamp set(s) and layout design. Creating a card does not have to be hard. Even someone who doesn’t think they are a “crafty” can stamp a card with a special message for the receiver. The products and tools that Stampin’ Up! offers make it so easy to coordinate colors and create a special card. With my sister’s loss fresh in my mind, I chose to use the Lasting Lily stamp set to create a card using just Whisper White cardstock, Blackberry Bliss ink pad, and Whisper White ribbon for the March Simple Stamping challenge. The Lasting Lily stamp set is a Sale-A-Bration that can be received free with a $100 order during the Sale-A-Bration season. It is one of the Distinctive design stamp sets that create an impression of depth just from the ink. I used an 8.5”x11” sheet of Whisper White Thick cardstock cut in half for my card base, which when folded in half gave me my 4.25”x5.5” card front. I have never been a fan of stamp sets that required multiple colors or layers of inks to create a design, but using the Stamparatus allowed me to easily line up the stamped flowers, stems and sentiment. I stamped the lilies and sympathy sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink and the stems in Old Olive onto a piece of 4”x5.25” standard Whisper White cardstock. A length of Whisper White ribbon colored with Blackberry Bliss ink was then glued to my stamped image and adhered to my cardstock base to finish my card front. I love to show how you can use the same stamp set in different ways to get different effects. Using the same stamp set, along with the coordinating Lily Framelits Dies, and the Subtle Embossing Folder, I stepped up the complexity of the card a bit here. Instead of the Whisper White Thick cardstock, I used Blackberry Bliss as my card base. I stamped the same images, but die cut them with the coordinating thinlits. I ran a piece of 4"x5.25" Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot using the Subtle Embossing Folder, then die cut that with one of the rectangles from the Stitched Rectangle Framelits. To pick which size rectangle to use, I just laid my die cut lilies and stems on my embossed piece until I found a size that I liked. I glued my stems to my lilies and adhered them with Dimensionals to my embossed layer, added a piece of 1/8" Whisper White colored with my Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend, and adhered by embossed layer to my card base. I finished my card front by adhering my die cut sentiment with a Dimensional. Here is a list of supplies and tools used: Lasting Lily Stamp Set (149717) (Free w/ $100 SAB item) Whisper White Thick Cardstock (140272) Whisper White Cardstock (100730) Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad (147092) Old Olive Ink Pad (147090) 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon Whisper White (144159) Blackberry Bliss Cardstock (133675) Lily Framelits Dies (150771) Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (148551) Subtle Embossing Folder (143706) 1/8" Sheer Ribbon Whisper White (144172) Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends Combo (147932) My recommended everyday tools for stamping used here include: Stampin' Trimmer (126889) Big Shot (143263) Big Shot Platform (142802) Magnetic Platform (130658) Bone Folder (102300) Simply Shammy (147042) Stamparatus (146276) Snail Adhesive (104332) Stampin' Dimensionals (104430) Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (144108) Thanks for hopping with all of us and stopping by my blog today. Welcome back to another round of Makeover Monday! Meg had a card for us to make on Thursday and I just loved it! I was able to share Amy Koender's tip on how to get the leaf and stem stamps to line up with the new dies. You can watch that here. Thank you so much, Amy! Tami White has a video on how to create this card. You can pick up viewing the "how to" at about 36 minutes into the video. Here' Tami's... and here's Meg's... Because I didn't have time to make this at Meg's I decided to CASE hers and Tami's and here is my card... I am playing at a new site for me Color My Heart Color Dare #333 - TicTacToe Color Palette for "So Much Happy" and as you can see, I chose to go down the right column. My colors are Night of Navy, Mint Macaron and Call Me Clover. I cut the frame out of Mint Macaron with the Rectangle Stitched Dies, embossed it with the Petal Burst TIEF and mounted it to a Whisper White card base. The sentiment is from Lasting Lily (free until March 31 with a $100 purchase), stamped in Night of Navy on a scrap of Mint Macaron and cut out with a die from Stitched Shapes Framelits. The bigger flower is stamped on watercolor paper with Night of Navy. I used an aqua painter to blend the ink on the rough paper. The smaller flower is stamped on Whisper White in Night of Navy. I stamped the leaves and stem on Whisper White with Call Me Clover and then cut everything out with the Lily Framelits Dies. Everything is adhered with liquid glue with the exception of the sentiment, which is adhered with Dimensionals. There is no photo of the inside as it hasn't been created yet. I might use this as a sympathy card OR for a retirement card. There are no words to express how I feel about the retirement of one of our pastors. I am happy for him and his wife, but sad for our congregation. Chester loves to be in the card room with me. He likes to explore the closet where I keep my card stock. Gotta check out the embellishments too! AND he likes to occupy my chair!! Chester was trying his best to help me make this card but gave up and decided it was supper time. It's difficult to make a card on an empty stomach. He is one big boy and we love him to pieces! Thanks for stopping by and have a Magical Monday.
