Hello and welcome, It's the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI114 and this photo was chosen by Monica Formosa, I just love the earthy tones in the photo. The colour combination for #CI115 is So Saffron, Bumblebee, Cajun Craze and Gray Granite. As well as the chosen colours you may also add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory' and 'Bronze' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Crushed Curry instead of Bumblebee .... you get the drift). The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 21st February 2022 details to follow at the end of my blog. Today's card is using the Happy Hedgehogs Bundle #157983 which is on page 64 of the new Stampin' Up! Jan- June 2022 Mini Catalogue. This bundle is so adorable and I have water coloured the stamped images using the fine tip brush from the Water Painters. I think Cajun Craze works well for the colour of the toadstool. I applied So Saffron Ink using the Blending Brush to the Basic White background panel and stamped the tree directly onto the panel in Bumblebee Ink. Then I added a die-cut circle in Basic White and stamped the tree again, but this time in Gray Granite. I'm always needing birthday cards so I used the greeting from the Art Gallery Stamp Set it's my go to stamp set for lots of different sentiments. Stamping a Mirror Image is pretty easy to do with this simple technique. Pick out a stamp that is looking to the left or right. Stamp that image on a Silicone Craft Sheet using Memento Black Ink. Place white cardstock over this image and press. When you lift up the white cardstock you will have a reverse image on your cardstock or a mirror image. Color the images with markers or blends. Stamp another image onto white cardstock and you have two images, with one looking right and one looking left. How cute is this fun little hedgehog card?! It was inspired by the sketch challenge over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. This is a new set from Stampin' Up! called Happy Hedgehogs. It's not usually my go to type of stamp set, but it was so cute I couldn't resist it! This is the sketch from TSOT and the optional challenge is embossing. Make sure you check out what all of the designers made using this sketch HERE. If you get a chance to play along we'd love to see what you create! I did a little masking so my hedgehog looks like he's in front of the tree and colored everything in using Stampin' Blends. I did a few dobbers (is that even a word?!) of grass so it didn't look like everything was floating above the words. I stamped and embossed each line of the sentiment separately so I had the strips at the bottom of the card like the sketch. Happy Sunday, friends! Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players! This week, Ann is hosting our Clean-and-Simple (CAS) Challenge. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew I wanted to use the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set and coordinating Hedgehog Builder Punch! I’ve had them for a while now and it was time to show them some inky love! This is a fun little bundle in the January-June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog and I just love the sweet little nature images. *I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post. Now, the key was to make a Clean-and-Simple Card, which if you’ve visited here before you know is always a bit of a challenge for me. I decided to let the stamps do most of the work on this card and kept the cardstock to just Pale Papaya and Basic White. The little scene really came to life once I started coloring with Stampin’ Blends. I decided to pop-up the hedgehog and the little bird for some extra dimension. I went back and forth on adding the Linen Thread about 10 times. Although I think the card would be fine without it, I liked the earthy texture it added to go along with the woodland scene. The little rosy cheek on the hedgehog just make me smile! He’s just so cute with his bird buddy and that sentiment is so sweet, don’t you think? Card Measurements & Details: Pale Papaya Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4" Basic White Cardstock: 5-3/8” x 4-1/8", die cut with largest Stitched With Whimsy border Hand Penned Designer Series Paper: 5-3/8” x 1” Pale Papaya Cardstock: 3-1/2” x 3-5/8” Basic White Cardstock: 3-3/8” x 3-1/2”, stamp tree in Momento ink and color with Stampin’ Blends (colors listed in the supply list at the end of this post) Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp the hedgehog and bird images, punch out hedgehog with Hedgehog Builder Punch and fussy cut bird, then color with Stampin’ Blends Pale Papaya Cardstock: scrap to stamp sentiment in Momento ink and die cut using Tasteful labels Dies Linen Thread Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 5-3/8” x 4-1/8”, die cut with largest Stitched With Whimsy border, stamp and color hedgehog and butterfly images Finally, here is look inside the card. I added the stitched border to the Basic White Cardstock layer to keep the continuity from the front of the card along with two more stamped images from the set. I decided to forego the sentiment because this card could work for a variety of occasions.
