Last holiday season I posted a tutorial on how to make glitter ornaments. The questions about that tutorial keep on coming - and it's now about the ornaments so much as the bow on top! So today we're talking all about how to make the perfect (double) bow. Silhouette School weekly contributors Becky and Glenna from My Paper Craze are here to share their expertise in the bow making department! What's an ornament without a cute little bow for flair? Today, we'll show you how to make an easy double bow in less than a minute with nothing but your fingers and some ribbon. It's not exactly a Silhouette tutorial, but it is definitely need-to-know for crafters! First, you need some thin ribbon, preferably double-sided. I specifically chose not to use double-sided ribbon, just in case you were wondering what the big deal is. Measure out about 32 inches, give or take a little. You can always trim the excess. Now grab your ribbon and follow along! Pinch the ribbon about one-fourth of the way down and drape it over you fingers. Take the longer piece of ribbon and loop it back around your two fingers. Pay close attention to the photos and how the ribbon is looped around each finger. On the second time down, you'll come back to the front of your fingers instead underneath. Loop back up around the tip of your finger and loop to the left. Now tuck the end of your loose piece of ribbon through your two fingers, where they come together at your hand. Pull the loose ribbon end around the back and tuck it under where the ribbon crosses (kind of like tying your shoes). At this point, you can cinch it up and pull the loops together to make the bow. Now just slide it off your fingers and fluff your loops until you're satisfied. If it doesn't come out the first time, don't despair, you can actually untie this and try again with the same piece of ribbon! Can you see the difference with not using the double-sided ribbon? It's not a huge difference, it's more personal preference, but double-sided ribbon is recommended for consistency in the design. Now on to more crafting, you have to make ornaments to put all these bows on! Note: This post may contain affiliate links. A Star Fold Card for almost any Occasion: To make this 6" card, you will need to start with a piece of paper measuring 12 X 12. Laying it on your mat you can easily find the center of one of the sides. Mark the 6" point and draw a line down the paper for about 2". Now you can draw a line from the corner left to the center line, making sure it is 12" long, do this again of the other side from right corner to center at 12" point. Now you can trim off the corners using your paper trimmer. Sometimes it helps to cut of the excess at the top of the triangle, also you can now erase your pencil line. You will now find the center of each side of the triangle. Using those lines you will now score from center point on one side to the center point on the other side. You will do this three times. When you have finished scoring it should look like the picture above. Now using the score lines you just finished place this score line on the 1 3/4" line on the trimmer and score a second line, do this on the other two sides. When all score lines are finished it should look like this. Now with the paper laying flat on the table top fold in all score lines nearest the center, and the second score line on all points should fold out . Points or triangles will interlock together. Here are a few more examples of this card worked up. I used two different paper packets for these projects both were from CTMH, Florentine was one and the other was Mayberry, also the color Blush was used for the last card. Thanks for visiting today......have a great crafting day....:-).....Joanie

Want a real wow for your next summery card? How about a beach, with real sand! I'll show you how simple it is to add a real ka-pow technique to your card in this easy mini photo tutorial. I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set for my saying and my fun little canvas beach chair. The ink colors are Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide, Soft Suede and Soft Sky. First up, let's talk about the background of this...
One of the simplest ways to add flair and creativity to your bullet journal is to use a different heading.
