Good Thursday morning to you all! This week's challenge is a color challenge. These are the colors for our color challenge this week. DRS stamps used: 279L Christmas Pine Oval, 613P Woven Plaid (cut apart). I also used Spellbinder, Memory Box and Our Daily Bread Designs poinsettia dies. Martha Stewart Branch punch and Memory Box leaf dies. The plaid was done by using the Woven Plaid stamp (cut into three parts) one part at a time with chalk inks. Warm Red was the large section then Rouge and then Lime Green. I LOVE the way this Plaid turned out!! It made me want to do a bunch of plaid backgrounds just to have on hand! I used the same colors for my layers of poinsettia petals and for my layers under the image panel. The first mat is lime green and is so thin you can barely tell it's there, but it is. then rouge and finally red. This was really fun to make and I hope you will join the color challenge. It’s Mix It Up Monday and time for another colour combination from my In Color charts. Today I’ve stuck entirely within the 2015-17 In Color range, with Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe, all held together with some Very Vanilla. This stamp set, Summer Silhouettes, is a timeless classic, which I hardly dare hope will survive the new catalogue overhaul that’s coming our way in a few months. I began by stamping Hardwood in Tip Top Taupe onto Very Vanilla - I deliberately kept this “rough and ready”, allowing the stamp to miss the cardstock in places. The flowers and leaves are then stamped on top, and it’s all finished off with some strands of Burlap Ribbon and a tiny greeting. Hope you like it! It’s Mix It Up Monday and time for another colour combination from my In Color charts. I thought it was time I created something 3D, as there’s a bit of a shortage of 3D items on my blog. I used the Scallop Tag Topper punch to create a simple pouch for two teabags. Tea, teacups and teabags are preying on my mind at the moment in the run-up to my Teatime Treats class! I cut two 2” (5cm) strips of Tip Top Taupe and punched them, then scored about 2cm from the bottom to create the base. It’s a very easy way of making a fun pouch - the jute strands around the whole thing hold the teabags inside. And now I’ve completed all the Tip Top Taupe combos from my original chart - I’m on the countdown to finishing them all! From time to time I grab some of the garbage rubber -- i.e. rubber cut away during the carving process -- and create "garbage stamps." It doesn't mean that the stamps *are* garbage, rather they have been created *from* garbage! Here's my most recent batch: The process is pretty much the same for each of the stamps: I take a scrap piece of rubber and trim it down to a shape or size I want to work with and then I attack it with my carving tools! All in all, this entire collection of itty bitty stamps took me about...

Hi friends! Are you ready for another Mojo sketch? As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on October 4, 2020. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. For today's card, I wanted to pull together some pieces and parts that were in my stash of papers. I had already printed and colored this sweet little Cocoa's Leaf Digi, so pulled some papers from my scrap pile that had a similar color theme. I distresed the edges of each of the panels with antique linen and vintage photo distress oxide and added a bit of texture to the image panel with Copic markers. Next I created a background with distress oxide inks. I typically do my smooshing with whatever acetate packaging I have laying around. For this card, I happened to have some press 'n seal leftover on my desk from placing die cuts. I decided to try it out, since I had never used it for smooshing and discovered that I love it! {grin} It transferred the ink differently, with more spread out splatters and less blobs. I loved the control it gave me and happily just kept applying crackling campfire, cracked pistachio, and vintage photo to my heart's content! Such a fun surprise! I finished off with a bit more blending of the brown inks, then stamped the Autumn Blessings sentiment from Autumn Splendor in the corner. Alrighty, now it's your turn! Its the last Monday of the month, so that means a different shaped card for the Mojo Monday Challenge! Mine is 5 1/4" square and uses papers from My Mind's eye "Christmas Wish" 6x6 pad. I took the wreath image from Verve's "Autumn Blessings" set and dressed it up for Christmas by adding sequins! The sentiment is from the "Unto Us" set and the poinsettia is from "Joyous Noel" - both by Verve. A simple and self-explanatory card. What would I do without my acrylic blocks? Of course they are just the thing for stamping with clear stamps. But they are also perfect for creating gorgeous backgrounds! One of my favorite techniques is using my Stampin' Up markers to color them. I just ink up any old block with whatever colors suit my fancy. Then I get them super wet by misting them with water. If I'm working with card stock, I use tons of water, say 10 squirts. If I'm using watercolor paper, I use less water. In this example I was using card stock, so I drenched the block. Then I stamp it onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. I press down with force to help squish the color around. Sometimes I let it air dry, but when I'm in a hurry, I use my heat gun to speed up the process! And voila! A stunning bit of background just waiting to be stamped upon. Tomorrow I'll post some cards that I made using this technique. Give it a try!

It’s Mix It Up Monday again and time for another project made with a colour combination from my latest set of In Color charts. This wasn’t a particularly easy challenge… purely because, as I discovered, I have no Chocolate Chip cardstock whatsoever. Since Early Espresso was introduced into the range, I’m afraid I lost my love for Chocolate Chip and it rarely sees the light of day. So this card, which I intended to have a Chocolate Chip layer to break up the two pinks, has now taken a slightly different turn. Three stamp sets are used here, but it’s not a limited supply challenge, it’s a colour challenge!
