I used the Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Petals stamp set bundle from the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalog (that starts tomorrow!!!) to create a thank you card to share with you today.
Hi Stampers, Today’s post will be dedicated to a type of die I don’t use often. I call them the INTRICATE DETAIL dies. I have no clue what they are officially called, but to me intricate detail describes them perfectly. The type of die I am talking about is like this one from the PENNED FLOWERS DIES: It is very pretty, and when I use it to die cut the image from cardstock, I like the result, but rarely do I actually do something with the die cut. They tend to be difficult to adhere (there are solutions for this problem), and I sometimes just am at a loss when it comes to incorporating them in a card design. So, today I decided it is time for me to overcome these challenges. I am sharing my results and a few tips. First let’s take a look at the entire set of the PENNED FLOWERS DIES and the coordinating stamp set, HANDED- PENNED PETALS. These items are featured as a bundle and as part of a suite in the STAMPIN’ UP! 2021-2022 ANNUAL CATALOG which goes live one week from today (4 May 2021). PENNED FLOWERS DIES & HAND-PENNED PETALS (HAND-PENNED PETALS BUNDLE) Here are the items I used from this bundle to create today’s cards. (The floral bouquet stamp image, the outline die, and the intricate detail die.) Here are the cards. For this card I used the outline die and the intricate detail die to create pieces for the card’s focal point. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - HAND-PENNED DSP (Blushing Bride) Other Cardstock - Blushing Bride and Basic White Ink - Versa Mark and White Embossing Powder Other Dies - Layering Circle Dies and Stitched So Sweetly Dies Adhesives - Dimensionals and Multi-purpose Glue * The Happy Birthday greeting is from the PANSY PATCH stamp set. Use the Versa Mark to stamp the greeting on Blushing Bride cardstock. Sprinkle the white I die cut the intricate detail image from Basic White cardstock, and used the multipurpose glue to adhere it to the Blushing Bride piece I cut with the outline die. When using multipurpose glue to adhere the intricate detail dies I look for the largest spaces on the die cut and apply the glue in those areas in a very thin line. To avoid too much using too much glue, I squeeze a bit of glue out on my silicone craft sheet or on a scrap of paper. Once the glue has started it is easier to control the amount that comes out as you apply it to the die cut. Die cut a Basic White circle using the largest of the Layering Circle Dies, and from a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock cut a scalloped circle using the largest scalloped die. Adhere the two circle die cuts together. Now adhere the floral piece to the circles. Adhere the DSP to the card base.Use dimensionals to attach the focal point and greeting to the card. This card is similar to the card above, except it does not have the solid die cut image. The intricate detail die is adhered directly to the panel? I used the multipurpose glue for this die cut too. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Garden Green 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - HAND-PENNED DSP (Garden Green) Other Cardstock - Basic White 5 1/4” x 4”, Garden Green and Basic White for the focal point Ink - Versa Mark and white embossing powder Other Dies - Stitched So Sweetly Adhesives - multipurpose glue, dimensionals *The greeting is from the SWEET STRAWBERRY stamp set. For the next card I stamped the floral image with Memento Tuxedo Black on Basic White cardstock, colored the image with Stampin’ Blends. I used the intricate detail die cut in Basic Black as an overlay for the floral image. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - Pattern Party - black& white check Other Cardstock - Basic Black 5 1/2” x 3” plus a piece for the die cut & Basic White for the floral image Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Blends of your choice for the flower image Other - white crinkled seam binding ribbon -12-14 inches. Adhesives - multipurpose glue and dimensionals * The greeting is from HAND-PENNED PETALS Stamp the greeting with the Tuxedo Black ink toward the lower right corner of the card base. Stamp the floral image on Basic White. Use Stampin’ Blends to color the image. Die cut the image and die cut the intricate detail image. Adhere the Basic Black overlay to the floral image. Adhere the checked DSP to the Basic Black mat. Tie the crinkled seam binding ribbon around the piece on the left side, and tie a bow. Trim the ends. Adhere the piece to the card base along the top of the card. Adhere the floral piece to the card with dimensionals. This card was easy to make. It is just a Basic White intricate detail die cut colored with Stampin’ Blends. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White (thick) 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” and a piece for the die cut Ink - Soft Succulent and Stampin’ Blends (or Stampin’ Write Markers). Other: In Color Open Weave Ribbon in Soft Succulent - about 18” and Champagne Rhinestones Adhesive: multipurpose glue * The greeting is from the TIMELESS TULIPS stamp set Stamp the greeting toward the bottom center of the card. Adhere the die cut to the card. Place the rhinestones in the centers of the flowers. Tie the ribbon around the card and make a bow. Trim the ends. The card is complete! TIPS FOR ADHERING THE INTRICATE DETAIL DIES 1. Use the method I described above with the multipurpose glue. 2. Multipurpose glue and a sponge. Place the die cut face down on a silicone craft sheet (or a piece of wax paper or parchment paper). Put a dab of the glue on the craft sheet. Dip a wedge of a craft sponge in the glue. Pounce the sponge gentle over the back side of the die cut. * Stampin’ Up! discontinued the Stampin’ Sponges. A sponge dauber can be substituted. After use wash out as much of the glue as possible and let dry. I am not sure how many uses you will get from the sponge dauber. I have used the same dauber twice, and it appears I will get at least one more use from it. 3. Fine Tip Glue Pen - The tip on this glue is made for the intricate dies. The tip can become clogged if the little pin inside the lid is not inserted into the tip of the bottle correctly when putting on the lid. I use it from time to time. 4. Mini Glue Dots - Some of the intricate detail dies have areas where the mini glue dots will fit. Sometimes I cut the glue dots in half, or use the paper piercing tip of the Take Your Pick Tool to roll the glue dot over on itself (sort of fold it in half), and place the glue dot on the die cut. 5. Adhesive Sheets - peel the backing off one side of a section of an adhesive sheet. Place a piece of cardstock the same size as the adhesive sheet over the exposed adhesive. Place the die on top of the cardstock and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or other die cut machine). Peel the adhesive off the back dice of the die cut, and place it on the mat, card base, etc. There are several other die sets in the new catalog that contain the intricate detail dies. One is the Sunflowers Dies which are found in the current Annual Catalog. The Brilliant Wings Dies, which are available now as a special promotion. Here is another look at the cards I created with the intricate detail die from the PENNED FLOWERS DIES: That is it for today. Thank you for stopping by. Until next time... Stamp Happy! Jo's Stamping Spot - Just Add Ink Challenge #578 - Sketch challenge using Hand-Penned Petals by Stampin' Up! Joanne Stubbings, Campbelltown, NSW,
A get well card that should make anyone feel better. I used the new Hand-Penned Petals Bundle to create this beautiful card. The bundle includes the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and the Penned Flowers Dies. This is a two-step stamp set so I stamped the outline flower in Black Memento Ink and stamped the inside flowers in Blushing Bride Ink and the leaves in Crumb Cake Ink. I love the font on the "feel better friend" sentiment which is also included in the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set. Details: White Cardstock card base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" Blushing Bride 6x6 Designer Series Paper: 5 1/2" x 2", scallop cut using Penned Flowers Dies Accented with Linen Thread and Champagne Rhinestones
The Hand Penned Bundle is part of a larger suite, which when combined with the paper gives a soft, pastel vibe. However, if you look in the back of the catalog at the bundle index you’ll see …

I used the coordinating dies and that delightfully sketchy "Thanks" to create my card. The sweet stitched scalloped border die worked perfectly with the sketch from the TGIF Challenge this week! I know the rest of the crew has amazing creations to share - I can guarantee no two projects will be the same! If you missed Lou Kitzelman's wonderful work head back there....... Next go visit Charlet Mallett to see her delightful creations! Here's the sketch I used from TGIF............. Having new products can sometimes feel overwhelming. While I love all the new products I've ordered from Stampin' Up!'s 2021 Annual Catalog (demonstrators can pre-order select items from the new catalog now), I don't like to play favorites. Blushing Bride with Pansy Patch & Hand-penned Petals Hi. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week's Blog Hop is focussing on another colour starting with "B", that is Blushing Bride. Blushing Bride is a pretty pale pink. It is a lovely colour and is part of the Subtles Colour Family. Blushing Bride is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Hand Penned & Subtles Designer Series Papers (DSP) and Hand Penned Memories & More Cards. I loved playing with Blushing Bride so ended up creating 2 cards to share. However, in doing so I am now running short on time to write my blog, so I won't go into as much detail as I usually do. That said, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. Here are my Blushing Bride projects: Project 1: I started by playing with some water colouring on Fluid 100 paper, using Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' ink and Stampin' Up!'s flat end Water Painter. In the end I cut the piece of water-colour paper into 2 and have used the piece that was pretty well coloured all over. The 2nd piece will be used another time. Once the water-coloured paper was dry, I embossed it with a new set of decorative masks, ie the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and Shimmery Embossing Paste. I usually forget about embossing paste, but I love the effect. I'm thankful to Emma Goddard who used some embossing paste in her Facebook Live this week and reminded me to give it ago. I hadn't used my Pansy Patch bundle and thought it would be great to showcase Blushing Bride, so I die cut pieces of Basic White card-stock using the Pansy dies to form flowers, buds and leaves. I part coloured each piece using Blushing Bride, So Saffron & Soft Sea Foam Classic Stampin' inks and sponge daubers. Must admit, I used a Sponge Dauber for the leaves that had previously been used with a darker green. I tried it on scrap paper and no ink was transferred so I inked it up with Soft Sea Foam, however, the colour that transferred onto the leaves was not a pure Soft Sea Foam green so I applied ink lightly as I didn't have an un-inked dauber to use. The flowers and bud were pieced together using Glue Dots. The water-coloured panel was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Blushing Bride card-stock. Before arranging the pansies, a piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding was wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow. The flowers, bud and leaves were arranged and then adhered with either Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Dimensionals. A sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink on Blushing Bride card-stock and heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. A few white Elegant Faceted Gems were added as the finishing touch. A piece of Basic White card-stock that had been pierced with the Stitched Greenery die was adhered to a Thick Basic White card-stock base. I so love the subtle and beautiful effect of this die. The card front was popped up on Dimensionals. The card inner was created by stamping the delightful pansy and leaves in Blushing Bride and Soft Sea Foam. Another sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped in Polished Pink ink to give the sentiment added strength of colour. The card inner was mounted on Blushing Bride card-stock. A Basic White C6 Envelope was also stamped with the delightful little pansy in Blushing Bride ink to link it to the card it will carry. (I love Stampin' Up!s distinctive stamps that give variegated levels of colour with just one step - check out the detail of the pansies on the envelope.) PROJECT 2: After creating the pansy card, I remembered the Stampin' Up!s Designer Series Paper Sale that is on throughout the month of July, with 15% of selected papers. It's a good deal that needs to be highlighted so you don't miss out. This was the impetus for the 2nd project. Even though I was running out of time, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to showcase at least one of the gorgeous Designer Series Papers - especially as the Hand Penned DSP is one of my favs. One of the designs in the Hand-Penned DSP was Blushing Bride and White, so it was perfect for my card. A piece was cut to card front size. Both Basic White and Blushing Bride card-stocks were cut with one of the dies from the Basic Borders dies. Do check them out in the catalogue - they are great. The detailed die from the Penned Flowers dies was used to die cut Basic White card-stock multiple times. The die cuts were then arranged and adhered all over the white panel, giving a subtle, though effective tone on tone effect. White Crinkled Seam Binding was wrapped around the centre and tied in a bow. A floral stamp from the coordinating Hand-Penned Petals stamp set was stamped in Basic Grey ink twice and the flower's infill stamp was used with Blushing Bride ink. Stampin' Blends Combos were used to further colour the flowers and leaves, ie Polishing Pink, So Saffron, Smoky Slate and the Colour Lifter. The flowers alone were coloured on the second image and they were fussy cut and added over the first image to give added dimension. A sentiment from the stamp set was also stamped in Basic Gray ink and fussy cut. Pearl Basic Jewels were added to finish the card front design. The card inner was created with a piece of the same Blushing Bride Hand-penned DSP and a large Scalloped Contours die. A Basic White C6 Envelope was stamped with the same flower, but this time in Blushing Bride ink. It doesn't need a lot of effort to bring coordination. Thank you for visiting Valley Inspirations with Andrea. I had fun playing with some water-colouring, daubering/sponging and infill stamping/Blends colouring featuring Blushing Bride to create these projects to share. If you are in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue then let me know and I will be delighted to send one to you. Hello and welcome. It is time for another Stamp'n Hop Blog Hop. Our theme this time around is Simple Stamping. It can be so easy to get carried away with all our wonderful products and just keep adding to a project. Next you know, you need to spend hundreds of dollars on product to make one card. That is so silly. I may be guilty of doing that a lot, but in my defence, I am a collector of Stampin' Up!, and have to have it all. So you will be please to know, that I have used just one stamp set on today's card and a sentiment I already had lying on my desk left over from another project. Now that you have seen my creation, it is time to see what Karen has made. You can purchase all the supplies I have used in my online store below, or by using any of my other ordering methods. I stamped and diecut a bunch of these flowers and was playing with it and decided to use two with a banner inbetween and what a sweet card it made. Basecard is thick white ( I abhor flimsy base so I am exclusively using thick cardstock for the base with a layer of fresh freesia. then a layer of scallops contour diecut in white. Two flowers cut and colored with mango, freesia, balmy blue and granny apple green - popped with dimensional. The sentiment is from Art Gallery pulled a little to fit in the banner from the Floral Heart diecut and pearls to add some sparkle. Easy peasy but SO Pretty!

It’s Monday and I’m coming from a weekend full of stamping! So, let’s start off with this card that uses a really fun technique! Those flowers from the Hand-Penned Petals […]
What caught my eye about today's card was the colors. I love the richness of them. And I like the stamped background on the Designer Series ...
I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator who loves to create. I make cards, scrapbook pages, 3 D projects and more. Check out all the fun things you can make too!
Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Hand-Penned Petals edition! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Nikki's blog, My Sandbox, welcome! There are seven of us today so it won't take too long, but there will be lots to inspire you! Hand-Penned Petals is a 15 piece photopolymer stamp set, and has a coordinating 14 piece Penned Flowers Dies set. And of course, if you bundle them both, you save 10%. I love that you can use the filler stamps for a quick card, or color the outline stamps yourself. I chose the peony image for the three cards I have to share today and, of course, I colored them in with Stampin' Blends. The first card uses the pretty Paper Lattice on page 141 of the catalog. I know it's part of a different suite, but everything Stampin' Up! makes just seems to go together! I had a leftover embossed strip from Saturday's card and adhered it behind the lattice. The Soft Succulent looks lovely with the Kraft lattice and Crumb Cake circle - really makes the leaves pop! A few 2021-2023 In Color (Evening Evergreen) Jewels were added to dress it up a little, along with an Evening Evergreen Open Weave bow and a Crumb Cake twine bow. The next card is sooo soft and feminine in real life - the photo just doesn't do it justice. I started with a Fresh Freesia card base and used the scalloped die from the coordinating Penned Flowers dies to trim a little off the bottom. A one inch strip of the plaid Fresh Freesia In Color DSP was adhered to the inside of the back flap. What really makes this card shine (pun intended) is the Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum. It is just so pretty and really takes the card over the top. But you know me, I had to add a little more shine, so some silver cord and silver epoxy diamonds completed the card. Look at that shimmery, shiny yumminess! Okay, okay, I'll quit sighing over it and show you the last project. (Seriously, I could have made a dozen more cards with this set!) For the final card, I went bold with the colors. After two with Fresh Freesia, I felt something in BLUE would be nice! I wanted to make this a birthday card, so I borrowed the die cut and greeting from A Wish For Everything. The peony was colored with Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Granny Apple Green Blends. It was popped up on vellum cut with a Scalloped Contours die, which was adhered over Basic White, adhered over some N.O.N. DSP, adhered over a N.O.N. mat and to the card base. WHEW, that's a lot of layers! The die cut "Happy" was cut from the navy Ombre Specialty Paper, and some Blue Adhesive-backed Gems were added. That's all for me, so jump on over to see what Mike at Stampin-Style has made!
Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all! Thank you to everyone for all the kind words about Katy that you left in the comments and e-mails yesterday. I truly appreciate each and every one of you! :) My car…
