Good Morning! Today I thought I would share a fun little card showcasing the petite petals stamp set. I actually put this card together, by request, for one of my hostesses in Michigan. It’s very similar to a card I put together over a year ago…I just changed out the colors. You can view it ... Read more

#stampinup #faithfulinkspirations One of my all-time favorite color combinations is pink and green and I think the combination of Watermelon Wonder and Pear Pizzazz on today's card really pops! And I used the "Petite Petals" stamp set and Petite Petals Punch again because I'm going to miss these old favorites! I started by stamping the lined stamp from the also retiring "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set in Pear Pizzazz on a 3-3/4" by 5" Whisper White panel. One of each line is stamped full strength and the other is stamped half-strength...in other words, I stamped the image again without reinking it. I added a couple of dashes of of the "Gorgeous Grunge" splatter stamp in Watermelon Wonder. Next, I added a couple of pieces of Tasty Treats Washi Tape (sold out) and then stamped a sentiment from the "Oh So Succulent" set in Pear Pizzazz. I adhered this to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" Pear Pizzazz mat and then onto a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise. Next, I stamped three of the flowers from the "Petite Petals" set in Watermelon Wonder onto a Whisper White scrap and punched them out with the Petite Petals Punch. I curled the petals slightly with my bone folder and adhered them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I added a Basic Rhinestone Jewel Embellishment (sold out) in the center of each flower. (There will be rhinestones in the new catalog--just in a different configuration.) Remember to get these items before they retire--or before they sell out. When I come across someone else's card that I absolutely love, I know I must share their work with you. You deserve to see it. When I received a swap card from Shawn de Oliveira, my roommate at this year's Stampin' Up! Convention, I immediately began planning my 'Three Things
The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Petite Petals this week. I used a bit of Painted Blooms DSP along the edge and Adventure Bound DSP for the bucket and then just filled it with flowers. A perfect summery way to say hi! Now I am off to enjoy this summery day at the lake - have to cherish every one we get in the northeast. Someone I know is already there guarding the beach against pirates! If you are hopping along in order you have arrived from my very talented friend Heidi Baks' site. Technically I am the end of the line but if you didn't start at the beginning then hop over to Debra's site and enjoy!
For today’s card, I combined the new stamp set “Petite Petals” (found in the Occasions Mini-catalogue with an older stamp set called Fabulous Florets. “Petite Petals”…

Hi everyone, A few weeks ago, my upline, Caroline Helwigh-Wright (better known by some as "Crafty Caroline") announced that she was going to be organising a card swap. The idea is that anyone who wanted to participate could send her a handmade card and she would swap it with a card from someone else and send us that card. This was the card I sent as my entry into the card swap. It uses one of my favourite bundles from Stampin' Up! - the Petite Petals and the matching punch. The punch makes it so easy to make these little blooms. If you'd like to have a go at making this card yourself, I've made a little video tutorial so you can see how I did it. If you need to purchase any of the products I used, just click on the links below and you'll be taken straight through to my online shop. Or just click HERE! As usual (you won't be surprised if you've followed me for any length of time) I had to carry on and make this card in a range of different colours. On the card above the flowers are stamped in Pool Party and Tempting Turquoise.I then made this one using Daffodil delight and Peekaboo Peach: And this one, using Pink Pirouette and Flirty Flamingo: And here are all three together: In the video I make the card in different colours again, but haven't had a moment to photograph that one. Hope you like my card! Don't forget to use this month's shopping code, if you'd like to order: Will be back in a while. Off to Amsterdam for a three day Stampin' Up! event tomorrow - can't wait! Well I jumped the gun and made a Wedding Card for an April Blog Highlight and silly me used Sale-A-Bration sets that will not be current in April. So here it is, I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock treated it with the Embossing Buddy and stamped two of the Lace stamps from Delicate Details lining them up on my clear block using my Quick Tip Video, stamped in Versamark Ink and coated in White Embossing Powder and melted with the Heat Tool. I Sponge Brayered over the embossing with this fortnights Colour Inspiration 05 colours - Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Blushing Bride. Making sure they are overlapped to get a good blend. I have a Quick Tip Video below on how easy the ink blending is. I stamped the flowers from Petite Petals is Sahara Sand Ink and sponged the middles in Blushing Bride ink, I punched them out using the matching Petite Petals Punch. The sentiments from Thoughtful Banners was stamped on Soft Sky and punched out using the Classic Label Punch. I added the three flowers which had curled up to give them dimension and coated the in Wink of Stella and added 3 small Basic Pearls to the centre of each. Here is my Video on how easy it is to Ink Blend with the Sponge Brayers I took the Any Occasion stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration and stamped and embossed in White on Vellum and added 2 more Petite Petals flowers to finish the card. Pin It Here's a fun way to use your tag punches. Just ignore the guides and put an 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece in it. I just eyeballed the center of the cardstock. Punch. Then do the other side. Now just trim to the tag. Score at 4-1/4". Finally fold on the score line and fold the other tag over. Now embellish! Hoi allemaal !

Today I'm sharing my last card in a box project for now - a long rectangle version full of my fave Flowers Shop & Petite Petals flowers. This was my second project from my February class. I designed this size to fit a standard C6 envelope (& also fits a US sized envie too). I've shared my template for this shaped box at the bottom of this post too so you can try it yourself. I'm not usually a huge yellow girl, but I loved how the calypso coral & pool party flowers looked with the so saffron DSP. Here's a closer look at the flowers (btw. the yellow flower is actually stamped in daffodil delight). & one more from the top, so you can see the inserts. When the card is folded flat for posting, it measures 14cm x 10.5cm (5-1/2 x 4-1/8inches). The panels under the flaps are crisp cantaloupe stamps with a small Petite Petals outline flower. I kept the back panel pretty simple I added a crisp cantaloupe & white panel, which had the added benefit of strengthening the whisper white base too. Long Rectangle Card in a Box Cutting Template Finished Size when flat: 114cm x 10.5cm (5-1/2 x 4-1/8inches). Front & back panels are 10cm wide, Side panels are 4cm wide. Cut Base: 29.7cm x 10.5cm (cut A4 sheet in half long-way). Score base: 10cm, 14cm, 24cm & 28cm on long side. Score at 5.5cm on short side Inserts: Cut at 12cm x 2cm. Score at 1cm from either end If you're more visual, here's the template I put together. Broken lines are score lines. Red lines are cutting lines. Leave the section with blue score line unfolded - this is the back panel. click on pic for larger view Check out Monica Gale's fab video tutorial for visual instructions on how to make a general card in a box. Follow the same principles - just substitute my cutting & scoring measurements. Prefer inches? The project dimensions were created in cm's, so they don't translate to inches as neatly as I'd like. The converted dimensions are as follows. I will post a neater solution if I have time to think! Finished Size when flat: 5-1/2 x 4-5/8 inches. Front & back panels are approx 4-7/8in wide, Side panels are 1-1/8inch wide. Cut Base:11.5 x 4-1/8 inches Score base: 3-7/8, 5-1/2, 9-3/8 & 11 inches on long side. Score at 2-1/8 inches on short side. Inserts: Cut at 5-7/8 inches x 3/4 inch. Score at 1/2 inch from either en. You can also check out this Splitcoaststampers card in a box tutorial for a general card in a box tutorial in inches too. Follow the same principles - just substitute my cutting & scoring measurements. I hope you have a go at making a long card in a box with my measurements. I think the longer length gives great opportunities to create a bigger scene. If you have any questions, just ask & don't forget to coment & pin if you like the project. Not hedgehogs, maybe I will show those tomorrow. Today I have the card that we will be making in our first Fancy Fold Friday Workshop at Our Creative Den. You will also make the box and we will supply tissue paper for you to wrap the card in. This cascade card is an interesting make, you could add butterflies, infact I have seen makes that are just butterflies. Later in the year I have a Christmas version for you! I have used three colour ways for this one, you will notice a lot of these colours for the next few weeks as these are the colours of the craft studio. The base is cut from 2 pieces of A4, the box also requires 2 sheets of A4. The flowers are a good way of using up offcuts and I use 1" strips of card to punch the leaves with the bird builder punch. This picture shows the box This is a very special card for a very special person. Check out the website now for details about the workshop.
