This card uses two of my favorite items in the Annual Catalog: the Poised Peony Stamp Set and the Frames & Flowers Specialty Designer Series Paper. I do have to say that I have quite a few 'favorites' in this catalog :-) This is a small slimline card, the Petal Pink cardstock card base is 6' x 6' and scored at 3.' The dotted paper on the front of the card is a piece of the Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper, it's the perfect background for this card. Hello and welcome, Today, I will be sharing with you a Christmas card for the latest Just Add Ink #516 Inspiration Challenge and I've taken some of the elements from the picture. I've chosen the colours, circles, baubles and the Christmas tree for my creation. The colours I've used are Magenta Madness and Coastal Cabana this is a gorgeous combination and so bright and happy. I've started with the card base in Magenta Madness Cardstock, layered with the polka dot DSP in Coastal Cabana and added a wash in Magenta Madness Ink on a piece of Shimmery Whisper White Cardstock. I've used new products from the Stampin' Up! 2020 Mini Catalogue, firstly the Christmas tree is from the Pine Wood Dies using the larger tree and Shimmery Whisper White Cardstock. I've added Magenta Madness Ink to the paper, once dried I just had to add Wink of Stella for some sparkle. In The Pines Bundle The baubles are from the Sounds of the Seasons Dies, I've inked up Shimmery Whisper White Cardstock with the above mentioned colours. Cherish The Season Bundle Before layering the tree and baubles, I placed the beautiful Coastal Cabana Playing With Patterns Ribbon as if it was wrapping around the Christmas tree. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set which has returned from last year's catalogue. To finish I've placed the Woven Threads Sequins onto the tree and Cardstock. Thank you for visiting my blog today, to see the Just Add Ink Team's creations and how to enter click here. Happy Crafting Vicki Boucher

Get Better Soon with Playful Pets and Healing Hugs Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 18th Social Stamping Blog Host. This month's Social Stamping theme is Get Better Soon. When thinking about what I would make I decided to create a card for my dog, Gemma, and I to send to her groomer. Gemma is a Lhasa Apso x Shih Tzu and requires grooming professionally every 3 months or so. Gemma's groomer is brilliant in handling dogs and has amazing skill with the clippers. I have been taking my dogs to her for many, many years. She has been going through a barrage of tests recently and so I thought it would be great for us to send her a card to let her know that we are thinking of her and appreciate her. This is a Slimline 3D Box style card, with a middler layer sitting between the front and back. It will lay flat and fit into a standard DL envelope. The front and back base pieces were cut from a piece of A4 Thick Whisper White card-stock; with the front piece being 1 1/2" longer than the back piece. Both ends of the front piece were scored in from the edge at 1/4" and 3/4"; so the front sits 1/2" away from the back. The 1/4" section was used to adhere front to back. Before forming the box, a woodgrain piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Real Red card-stock; which in turn was mounted to the front base piece. A rectangular hole was cut in the centre of the front section using a rectangular die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. As it was cutting through 3 layers of paper, it needed to be passed through the Cut n Emboss machine a few times. The rectangular hole was to be longer than the die, so the die was moved further along ensuring it aligned with the cut scallops. Part of the cut rectangular piece was used to create the in-between layer. A number of dogs were fussy cut and one die cut from a couple of designs from the Playful Pets DSP. The red stripe that has been used for the background also came from the same focal central grey dog was popped up on Dimensionals, a couple of dogs were adhered to the middle layer, and one of the dogs (the one doing the "downward dog") was adhered to the front layer. One of the dogs (probably a Lhasa Also or Shih Tzu, is wearing a healing collar that was cut from Vellum card-stock with a small circular die from the Layering Circles dies. A second fussy cut head was added to give the appearance of wearing the collar and add further dimension. The letters to form the word "Doggone" were cut from Real Red card-stock that had been adhered to an Adhesive Sheet. A second set was cut from Real Red card-stock to add to the back of the letters as I realised that the letters would partially hang over the edge of the cut out centre. The letters were adhered at the base in a wonky fashion. A piece of twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo pack was attached to one of the dogs (as a lead) and partially looped around some of the letters, with the end frayed a little. A rolled Glue Dot held the twine in place behind the 'N'. A sentiment from the Healing Hugs stamp set was stamped in Early Expresso Classic Stampin' ink onto Vellum card-stock and then over stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss powder. The Stamparatus was used for stamping which enabled the double layer of stamping to stamp directly onto of the Early Expresso sentiment. I do love my Stamparatus. As the sentiment didn't show well in position, a small piece of Whisper White card-stock was adhered to the Vellum and the sentiment was also popped up on Dimensionals. A piece of Whisper White card-stock was mounted on Real Red cardstock and then onto the back panel. Prior to mounting, the panel was stamped with a dog, dog bowl and butterflies from the Pampered Pets stamp set in Early Expresso Classic Stampin' ink. The same dog was also stamped on the front of a DL envelope. To finish off the Slimline 3D Box card a bone trinket from the Playful Pets trinkets was adhered with a Glue Dot to the focal dog and butterflies were stamped in Early Expresso Classic Stampin' ink. I thought I would take a photo of my special girl with the card that is to be sent to her groomer. It wasn't an easy process as she had positioned herself in the garden. To take the photo I ended up in the garden, kneeling in the wet dirt. Most of the photos showed her looking anywhere but toward the camera. Peta of Stampin' Cat, I am in awe of you and your photos of your cards with your cat. I have decided that the ol' adage about actors never working with children or animals also applies to taking photos of dogs and cards together!!! Here's Gemma with the card: I hope you are enjoying this month's Social Stamping Blog Host that has focused on a "Get Well Soon" theme. Stampin' Up!, Prized Peony bundle, 3-D card technique, Fun Fold card technique %
Hello! Welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog hop. There are 20 of us from around the world so be sure to follow along to see everyone's projects. You should have just come from Holly Stene's blog. I just love Holly's projects. This month the team is focusing the Oh So Succulent bundle. Now I know this is retiring but that doesn't mean you still can't use ideas for this set. Or better yet, pick it up while it's on sale and you'll have lots of fun things to do with it. I really love this set and this will be one that I will be holding on to after it retires. One of the things I saw with this set was to make some peonies, my favorite flower! I was trying to think of another use for this set besides succulents. Just by die cutting and stamping the images in a different color than the typical greens for succulents, you can make other types of flowers. The first thing I did was make a note card gift set with holder. I had the idea of using this as a mother's day gift but really this can be for anyone. I kept the elements the same on all cards but used different sentiments and different DSP for each card. These cards are note card size and I made my own envelopes by using the Envelope Punch board. I don't use this as often as I should. Making your own envelopes is such a great way to add that special touch to your card. It's cute and so simple to do. All of the flowers were stamped in Pink Pirouette ink on Pink Pirouette paper. It's not very noticeable but you can see it more up close. The flower outline was stamped in Sweet Sugarplum ink. The outline to the leaves (or whatever they are) are stamped in Mint Macaron ink on Mint Macaron cardstock. If you look closely, you can see that I added some drops of the Fine Tip glue to the leaves for that dewy look. You will also notice that the Stitched Shape circle (behind the flower) was stamped with one of the flower images from the set and was then embossed with white embossing powder. I cut strips of the Succulent Garden DSP to layer on each card. (The strips correspond with the handmade envelope). And then I cut strips of Gold glimmer paper. For the final touch, I added gold thread, pearls and some gold glitz dazzling details. (The gold glitz is so cheap, so stock up now!!) To hold all of these cards, I again used the Envelope Punch board to make this box. I must have made this box like 5 times because I wasn't following the directions right, hehe! (I found the directions on Pinterest). In the end, this box still isn't exactly right but I like how it looks. I say it's not right because if you were to close that top flap the cards won't fit. But that's ok, I like the box with the top open like this. So this turned out to be my "happy mistake". The belly band around the box is a strip of vellum stamped and embossed with the same flower image from the cards. A strip of gold glimmer paper was added. Then I added the pretty peony. I used the largest and 2nd largest flower in Pink Pirouette to make the peony. Then I cut out 2 of the smaller ones in white and Peekaboo Peach to make the center and then added a pearl. For this peony I used all 3 of the flower dies and die cut the Pink Pirouette cardstock several times for each size. The white flower was cut twice and another small flower in Peekaboo Peach. I wanted this flower to be larger and fuller so I just die cut more flowers. The belly band is the same that I did for the card box. For the inside of the box, I used my fringe scissors and cut up scraps of Mint Macaroon cardstock and filled the clear tiny treat boxes with jelly beans. These boxes are so cute and this would look great filled with any kind of candy or treats. I hope this inspired you to get crafty with your Oh So Succulent set or maybe inspired you to get it now while it's on sale!! {Place a $30 or more order in my online store during the month of April using Hostess code: CTVQJGPE and you will be entered to win a Watercolor Wishes Card kit}. Hello, crafty friends. I hope you had a nice Father's Day celebration. I am grateful to have had all three of our children at our home. We played some yard games and even some gambling card games. So fun! I haven't had much time to get in my stamping room and create, but I did pop in this morning to create this card to share with you using the Prized Peony Bundle. Aren't these flowers so pretty? The Prized Peony is a Distinktive stamp set which makes it very easy to color and get a "wow" factor. I stamped my flowers using Memento Black ink and then colored them with Soft Sea Foam and Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends. The leaves were colored with Mint Macaron and Just Just Stampin' Blends. I love you Soft Sea Foam coordinates with Misty Moonlight and Mint Macaron coordinates with Just Jade. I have a long time friend and customer who buys cards from me on a regular basis, and her last request was for sympathy/think of you cards. I love how this turned out and plan to make a few more in other monochromatic colors for my stash as well. :) I used a bunch new product with my flowers so be sure to check out the Product List below. At the start of each month, each of creates another project using the featured suite of products to give you even more inspiration. Here is my additional Earthen Elegance Suite project. The sentiments in this suite are written in an adorable Art Deco style font which I absolutely love and wanted to feature in my card. I stamped them in a staggered fashion across the front of a piece of Gray Granite cardstock using Pretty Peacock ink, both full strength and stamped off for a lighter shade. The tall vase is die cut from Designer Series Paper and the short one is stamped on to Pretty Peacock card with matching ink. They are filled some gorgeous foliage die cut from Copper Clay, Distressed Gold and Pretty Peacock. One of the dies in the set acts like an embossing folder. It can be used to add texture to the vases or, as I have done, to the background. I positioned the embossing to ground the pots. The Thank You layer is mounted onto a slightly bigger layer of Pretty Peacock card, which in turn is adhered to a top folding card base which has been covered with DSP. Inside there is another vase simply filled with stamped images. I have had so much pleasure creating with this suite, and I hope you feel inspired to create with it too.
