Hi Stampers! I have been busy creating Thank You cards this week and wanted to share this one that was designed using the FMS188 Freshly Made Sketches Challenge along with the CQC292 ColourQ Challenge and Just Us Girls #294 Photo Week Challenge. If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit all three of the challenge sites- each one has a fantastic Design Team as well as inspiration from their galleries! To create this card: Trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock and mount onto a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock, trim and mount onto the Coastal Cabana card base. Ink the Perfect Peacock stamp using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock. Color the upper two thirds of the image using an AquaPainter™ with Classic Ink from the Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush and Tangerine Tango pads and use the same colors in Stampin’ Write Markers to add definition. ***Note- I used Daffodil Delight first, then Coastal Cabana for the leaves :-)) *** Add a few white highlights with the White Gel Pen and shadows with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker. Cut the panel for the sketch and mount onto Tangerine Tango cardstock, trim and mount onto Coastal Cabana cardstock. Create the banners from retired Eastern Elegance and Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the Hexagon and Banner Punches for the banner points. Mount onto Tangerine Tango cardstock and create matching points with the punches and adhere behind the peacock panel. Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, punch out with the Word Window Punch and create the banners with the Banner Punch. Adhere the sentiment to a knotted piece of Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine and mount onto the peacock focal image panel (I used Hot Glue for both of these steps:-)). Mount the focal image panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card. Stamps: Perfect Peacock, Teeny Tiny Wishes Ink: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, Tangerine Tango; Stampin’ Write Markers- Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Sahara Sand, Strawberry Slush, Tangerine Tango; White Gel Pen Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango; retired Eastern Elegance and Quatrefancy DSP Accessories: AquaPainter™, Punches- Banner and Hexagon, Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine Thanks again for visiting- I will share a few more cards throughout the week. I hope you have a fabulous weekend, my friends!!
Hi there! It's time for another fabulous ColourQ challenge and this week the colour combo is sooo pretty! I realised recently that I have no Mother's Day cards in my collection so I thought I'd better start making some (for my Mum and Mum-in-law as well as for the church bookshop if they request some to sell!). I pulled out Summer Silhouettes and paired it with Gorgeous Grunge and came up with this... The idea for this definitely came from the sketch I chose to work with: Chupa's gorgeous Sketchbook Saturday layout: I started by stamping one of the Gorgeous Grunge splatters on Whisper White using Smoky Slate ink (which I stamped off on scrap paper first, to get a lighter impression). I then stamped the stems and blossoms over the top then ran the panel through my Big Shot with the woodgrain embossing folder. I then added some leaves and a flower, both fussy cut (gotta love my paper snips!) and layered on with dimensionals. I added a strip of Watercolor Wonder dsp, some torn vellum cardstock and a strip of Smoky Slate card in between, on which I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The die-cut xoxo is from one of Thinlits card collections (they are so versatile!). I finished things off with a few butterflies cut from Calypso Coral core'dinations card using the Beautiful Wings embosslit, then sanded lightly to get some shading. I couldn't resist adding a few pearls at the end!! Here's the recipe: Stamps: Summer Silhouette, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Gorgeous Grunge Ink: Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo Paper: Watercolor Wonder dsp, Whisper White, Calpyso Coral core'dinations, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, vellum Accessories: pearls Tools: Thinlits card dies, Woodgrain embossing folder, Beautiful Wings embosslit Make sure you check out the fabulous creations of the rest of the Royal Court this week! Thanks for stopping by... x Amy x
This week's colourQ challenge is beautiful!! I LOVE these colors together! Certainly Celery has always been my favorite green and Ruby Red is a great shade, although my ink pad has seen better days. The stamp set I used is . . . well, we'll call it "vintage" Stampin' Up! It's called Watercolor Minis and it is one of my favorites although I rarely use it. This is a simple. clean design that can easily be adapted to a variety of occasions and color palettes. Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for another card using this same color combo.

Happy Friday and thanks for visiting me today! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Karla is having us design our Fabulous Friday projects with the colourQ challenge #253 color combination: The color palette above features Summer Starfruit - a retired In Color - so I substituted our new In Color Hello Honey which worked out great! Here's another view of my card. And a close-up of the flowers that I punched: I just love adding dimension to a card with punched flowers and some bling! For more inspiration with this color challenge, be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog after Noon EST today to see what Karla and Rachel designed. To purchase any...
Hey, peeps, it’s Tuesday, and that means another cool color challenge from Arielle for the ColourQ! Here you go: Definitely a boyish color combo, although it doesn’t necessarily have to be! I inked up some images from Geometrical and A Fitting Occasion, both of which have been neglected, and paired them with a sentiment from a new Project Life set called Remember This: I added some scallops and zigzags, and popped it all on a panel that I embossed with the Alphabet EF: I added a little sentiment (and hat!) to the inside as well: Sentiment is from Fabulous Four! I hope you can come play with us this week! A few more fair pictures: Enjoy your day!
This week's colourQ challenge colors are lovely! We are getting a sweet taste of spring here in E. TN and these colors fit right in. I used Altenew's Painted Flowers along with Pool Party and Old Olive ink. I had to substitute Pretty in Pink and Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender. I also used a new set I just received from Neat & Tangled called Everyday Labels. Sadly, I needed another sympathy card this week for one of my 14-year-old's teachers who is also my prayer partner. I think the softness of these colors is perfect for a sympathy card. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope it's beautiful where you are!!

Hi Stampers! I love the combination of colors in this week’s ColourQ CQC244 Challenge and decided to combine it with the FMS139 Freshly Made SketchChallenge. The colors are so fresh and summery, I decided to create a little scene with the new stamp set, Life in the Forest:-) I hope you have had a chance to visit both of the challenge sites- again, great inspiration from all! To create this card: Use the Big Shot™ with the Arrows Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and add the banner strips per the sketch-created from retired Designer Series Paper (DSP) and mounted onto Night of Navy cardstock. Mount the panel onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim and mount again onto Tangerine Tango cardstock and adhere to the Night of Navy card base. Create a tag from Whisper White cardstock using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and layer onto another tag created from Night of Navy cardstock, rounding the corners using the Envelope Punch Board. Punch a smaller piece of retired Bashful Blue DSP using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and adhere to the tag. Create the "grassy" area using scraps of Old Olive cardstock (embossed using the Big Shot™ and the retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and hand torn), round the corners using the Envelope Punch Board and adhere to the lower part of the tag only applying adhesive to the bottom portion of the “grass” . Stamp the fox and trees from Life in the Forest using Tuxedo Memento™ Black onto Whisper White cardstock and color using Stampin’ Write markers and Stampin’ Blendabilities™ (Stampin’ Write Tangerine Tango for the fox, followed by the Medium Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities™ and the Old Olive Blendabilities™ for the trees). “Fussy cut” out each image and arrange a few trees (tucking the trunks under the “grass”) using adhesive and mount the remaining trees and fox using Stampin’ Dimensionals®. Add a piece of retired 3/8” Tangerine Tango Dotted Scallop Ribbon to the tag and tie Natural Linen Thread around the ribbon with a bow. Mount the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the sentiment to finish off the card. Not surprisingly, I had NONE of this week's colourQ challenge colors! Not a single one!! Luckily, I had some close substitutes: Tim Holtz's Barn Door, Stormy Sky, & Wild Honey, and SU!'s Wild Wasabi (LOVE!). This card is for a family friend who recently lost her husband. I'm sending her some pictures from our #1 daughter's eighth grade dance last weekend. She and her friends looked beautiful, and her date was very handsome. It was an exciting time for both of us! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
