Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Gemma Clarke Hello everyone, Today's project is a cute little centre piece or a lovely gift for someone special. I have based my vase today on a gift box that I saw quite some time ago by Ann Melvin, her beautiful ornate gift box, I thought it would make a great vase to put paper flowers in and with the Tulip punch in the mini catalogue I couldn't wait to get crafting. I started with a four sided box vase and then decided to make a five sided version to give it more of a typical vase shape. I then started experimenting with my different punches and thought that the four petal punch made great leaves for under my tulips. To make my vase I chose real red card and I used some of the From My Heart Speciality DSP. I used the coordinating stamp set and punch pack within the suite to make the tag on the vase. I love how the scalloped heart punch cuts out the heart images on the dsp such an easy way to make toppers and tags! To make the vase you will need Card measuring 6 3\4" x 5 3\4" which you will need to score at On the 6 3\4" side at 1 1\4", 2 1\2", 3 3\4", 5" and 6 1\4" On the 5 3\4" side at 1 1\4" and 5 1\4" 5 pieces of card measuring 1 1\4" x 5 1\2", these all need to be scored across the long side at 1" and 5" For the Designer Series Paper you will need 5 pieces 1 1\8" x 4 1\8" 5 pieces 1 1\8" x 7\8" You will also need a scrap of the same coloured cardstock roughly 2 1\2" square, this is for the bottom of the box. Shop Stampin' Up! Here Hi Friends!My project today is a treat box that measures 3 x 1 3/4 x 1 1/4". I used the Labeled with Love stamp set & Punch Bundle, Regals Designer Series Paper and Blooming Pearls. You can watch my Video Tutorial Here! I started with a piece of Lost Lagoon Cardstock sized7 x 6 3/4"I scored the 7" side at:3/4, 2, 5 and 6 1/4"I scored the 6 3/4" side at:1 1/4, 3, 4 1/4 and 6"To cut and put the box together you can watch my Video Tutorial Here.Below is a picture of how your Cardstock should look after scoring and cutting. I attached 6 pieces of the Regals Designer Series Paper to the box. (2) 2 3/4 x 1 1/2" front and back of top flap (2) 1 1/2 x 1" short sides (2) 2 3/4 x 1" long sides I stamped the Frame image, from Labeled with Love stamp set, onto Basic White Cardstock with Pretty Peacock Ink. I stamped "Happy birthday" sentiment to the left side of the label with Pretty Peacock Ink. I cut the label out using the Labeled with Love Punch. I stamped the outline of the Butterfly onto Basic White Cardstock with Pretty Peacock Ink. I stamped the inside of the Butterfly with Lost Lagoon Ink. I fussy cut the image out by hand. I attached the Label to the top of the box with Dimensionals. I attached the Butterfly to the right side of the label with a Dimensional on the left wind and some Liquid Glue on the middle. For the final touch I added 3 Pretty Peacock Blooming Pearls to the Butterfly and Label. You can shop for your Stampin' Up! supplies with Me here. I have agreed to do a craft fair soon which is a charity fundraiser to raise funds for a little boy who is very ill - see sidebar for more information. So I have been very busy making up lots of cards and other goodies to sell. One of the items I have been making is a mini emergency sewing kit so I thought I would do a quick tutorial on how to make them. This is what we are making: And these are the finished kits all prettied up in their own little packages: Start with your mini sewing kit. Then you need the following: Base (wisteria wonder in this case) 10cm x 9.5cm - score halfway along the 10cm side ie at 5cm, and score along the shorter side at 3cm. Tab (also wisteria wonder) 3cm x 5cm Designer series paper (Berry Blossoms - retired) - two pieces - one 9.5cm x 6cm and one 2.5cm x 4.5cm Two flowers punched out using Boho Blossoms punch A brad. You may need to rejig the measurements if your sewing kit is bigger or smaller. I use my grid paper from Stampin' Up! (106587 Grid Paper (100 sheets) £7.95) to help with measurements when I'm making up these type of projects - I find it really helps to be able to sketch it out before cutting out card stock that might be the wrong size! Using sticky strip fold up the card along the score line to make a pocket for your sewing kit. Round the corners of your card tab and the designer series paper (dsp) tab using a corner rounder and glue the dsp on to your tab base. Score down the middle of your tab (at 2.5cm). Attach tab to your base. Scrumple up your flowers to break down the fibres in the card and then carefully peel the two layers apart. Layer all four flowers, use your paper piercer to make a hole, and secure with a brad (I used one of the the FREE brads from the Everyday Enchantment offer - last chance to order today!) Attach flower to your designer series paper (approx 2cm-2.5cm from the edge). Glue paper to base and then fold up like a book. Use the flower to catch the tab so that your little case stays closed up. If you liked this tutorial and found it useful I'd be really happy if you left me a comment to let me know :-)
