Welcome to this months Stampers By the Dozen blog hop featuring special folds or fun folds even fancy folds, what ever you like to call them. So many choices and Pinterest was alive with suggestions, tutorials and even templates for all those folds. I have chosen the Joy Fold card for todays hop - even its name sounds nice. I have used the let it Ride stamp set that my daughter chose from the current Occasions catalogue - I let my kids pick a set each, each catalogue this one is my 19 year olds choice. I have stamped in Early Espresso then coloured the horse with Stampin' Blends. The trees in the background were coloured with our markers in Mosey Meadow, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake. The DSP is Wood Textures. I just love how this card has the element of surprise of that piece folding in the opposite direction to what you are expecting. The 'For You' circle as 3 dimensionals over to the one side so that it acts as a clip for the front of the card. I loved how well this turned out in landscape but have a real preference for Portrait cards so check this one out I couldn't find any measurements or tutorials to help me with the cutting for this card so made it up as I went along. To say I'm happy with the finished product is an understatement. The Darling Label tag punch you will note has a nice frame around it - that's from the Everyday Label Punch chopped in half. Thank you for popping in please continue to hop around and see what other great projects the team has to share with you. Are you a coffee lover? I sure am! And I’ve got some exciting news to share with you! Stampin’ Up is launching a brand new suite called A Little Latte, and it’s set to hit the Onl…
Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I am participating in the New at SU! blog hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative papercrafting ideas to share with you to get you crafting. This month we are using current products to CASE another team member. It is my absolute pleasure to be casing Angie McKenzie of Nature's Inkspirations. Angie's project I've chosen to CASE is last month's New at SU! blog hop project which I absolutely love. It's a darling treat box created and filled with love. Angie created her treat boxes as an Easter gift for her parent's friends - I thought they would make fabulous table gifts for my next crafty class. I've retained the general size of Angie's box, the wrapped layer and the ribbon. I have also included a bookmark, of sorts, and the crumpled filling although I have changed up the theme as my decoration utilises the Online Exclusive Latte Love products. I constructed the box from a piece of cardstock measuring 23cm x 7cm -scoring at 1cm, 8cm, 12cm and 19cm creates the sides of the box. Each long side was scored at 1cm - one edge forms the folded border at the top and the other edge is snipped to create flaps to adhere the base piece to. After creating a tube from the scored card a rectangular piece of matching card, measuring 7cm x 4cm, can be adhered to the flaps to create the bottom of the box. The box is wrapped with a narrow strip of the A Little Latte DSP, some Baker's Twine or Lost Lagoon Ribbon (retiring) and a couple of die cut cups. A triangle of Swirl Dots finish off the decoration. I decided to use my bookmark as a means of introducing the new InColors. I stamped the coffee drips, which make convincing ink splatters, in each of the new colours and added a matching die cut cup together with a Shimmer Gem. Initially, I wasn't sure about a couple of the new colours, but even after this quick stamping session I am now converted to them. At the moment my favourite is Summer Splash. I intend to sit the filled boxes alongside the card kits at my next card gathering. Coffee and biscuits are always part of the occasion, but it is so much better when they are presented in pretty boxes! So, nestled amongst the thin strips of crumpled card (Lost Lagoon or Pecan Pie) there will be some tasty nibbles, a tea or coffee bag together with the InColor bookmark. I hope that you have been inspired by my project today. Continuing along the hop to the others will provide you with even more project ideas - you are currently with me, Furry Cat Designs by Karen Henderson - but before you hop on to see what Angie has made this month, please take a moment to leave a comment. Welcome to October's Stampin Sunday Blog Hop I had great fun creating this month's project. It's a stuffed envelope, well, I made it slightly bigger than your average envelope so I could pack lots of goodies in. When I did a search on the internet for what one was, there was such an amazing variety of creative ideas. The idea I latched onto was to decorate or gather useful items to put in a fun paper pocket. I started off with 2 pieces of 6" wide DSP, they were then folded and cut to create a layered pocket. I gathered some colour co-ordinated teabags and sweets and bagged them up. These are a decorated notebook, a book mark and some sticky notes. I then couldn't resist making some fun paperclip toppers, by the way the paper clips are quite large, about 3" long. Here is the pocket envelope stuffed with all the goodies, ready to give as a fun gift. To see how I put the pocket together have a look at this short video Isn't it adorable? I look forward to making more of these. For more fabulous inspiration please check out the other hoppers here... Often times I find myself needing a simple card just to let someone know I am thinking of them. I was really happy to receive this In the Moment Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! as part of my swag bag during the most recent On Stage At Home event. I am finding it very useful for just such cards. So today I worked on one that highlighted the stamp set and the Fresh Freesia In Color products. Here is what I came up with… The card base is Fresh Freesia cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”. I cut a layer of Basic White cardstock that measured 41/8 x 5 3/8” and a layer of the 2021 – 2023 In Color 6 x 6” Designer Series Paper in the Fresh Freesia color to 4 x 5 ¼” and adhered them together. I wrapped a piece of the Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon around the center of the layer and tied a square knot on the right side. I then attached the layer to my card base. Next, I stamped my image from the In the Moment Stamp Set onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and die cut it using one of the Layering Circles Dies. I colored the image using the Stampin’ Blend markers listed below. Once it was all colored in, I cut a second scalloped circle using the same die set and attached them together. I popped this up on the card base using Dimensionals. Now for my sentiment I stamped the sentiment “You’re in my thoughts” onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Fresh Freesia ink and then die cut it using the label die from the Pretty Pillow Box dies. This was popped up on the center top of my card. That ¾” of Designer Series Paper that I cut off when making the DSP layer for the front of the card got attached to a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” to create the inside of my card (see below). I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it. As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
