My trees are in bloom already and it's starting to look like spring in the desert. I have to say, this might now have been the place I'd have chosen to spend the later years of my life, but in the spring it is just gorgeous. So, I put a little spring in my card for the Pals Paper Arts challenge. If you would like to join in just click the PPA link in my right side bar, you will see many more cards based on this sketch. I'm using So Saffron, I think it's my favorite yellow, so soft with a hint of gold. I also used Perfect Plum, Old Olive and a touch of Tangerine tango. Love, love, love this Hardwood background stamp, it just works so well for so many things, here it's the fence for the flowers to grow against. The sentiment is from See Ya Later, if you like this set now is the time to get it, it's one of the free sets with a $50 order from any current product. This special ends the last day of March so time is getting short. I added Candy dots to hold down my greeting and used the Bitty Butterfly for accent with rhinestones for bling. To purchase any of these items, or just to look around or get more info, just click on one of the photos below. Thanks so much for stopping by. You might remember this card from the post "The ocean is calling". It's a card I designed for Stamp Camp. And I adore it. Stamp Camp was yesterday and the ladies and I had a fabulous time being creative. Some of my girls carefully read the instruction sheet that I print out for each project and produce a perfect copy of my sample. This makes me happy because they enjoy having a cute card to send to a loved one. Some of my girls don't bother with the instruction sheet and quickly bust out a card that kinda looks like my sample. This makes me happy because they enjoy winging it and seeing what happens. And some of my girls take a look at my sample and decide to turn it on it's side! They change up the layout, switch around the colors, and end up with something totally different from my sample. This makes me do a little dance of joy! They enjoy the creative process and aren't afraid to take a chance and get their hands dirty. Today when I was unpacking my Stamp Camp supplies, I discovered that I had an extra card kit. So I decided to get my hands dirty and make something entirely different from the original cards! Here's what I did with the ocean inspired card. It's still based in nature and uses a bit of wood grain, but other than that, this card and the original have nothing in common! This time I used VersaMark ink and embossing powders on the main image. Some tearing and the Woodgrain embossing folder lends a bit of texture. I am in serious love with this version too! Happy stamping!
This summer has been super busy! Because my kids are so talented, I've been running them to music camp and play rehearsals. Not to mention taxiing them to friend's houses, and to work. So I find myself with these little pockets of time to work on designing cards between dropping them off, and picking them up. Often times, I have to leave in the middle of making a masterpiece. While I'm gone, you'll find my desk with a half-made card on it. But before I go, I try to lay out all the elements so that I don't forget where I was intending to go with a project. I'm so scatterbrained that if I don't do this, by the time I return to my desk, I'll have forgotten all my design elements. Getting older stinks! I've never used Pink Pirouette with Tangerine Tango before. But when I was pulling paper out of my cabinet, I dropped some and these two colors landed next to each other. I loved them together! So I had to put them into a card. The bee was cut from vellum and I dry embossed the back of the wings to make them white, and bump them out a bit. I also colored the back of it's body with Crushed Curry (my new favorite yellow). Again, Backyard Basics Framelits made cutting him out a breeze! Happy stamping!

This is the final card we created in my Butterfly Basics Class this week. I love the Butterfly stamp in this set, it's so pretty :o) The set coordinates with the Butterflies Thinlits, so they are quick and easy to cut out. I topped each of them with one of our Metal Rimmed Pearls - these are so gorgeous! This time I created my own mats for the sentiment. I just cut rectangles and then punched the corners of each of them using the ½" Circle punch. Everything was sponged using Sahara Sand ink. ___________ Shop With Me Online - 24/7 Join My Team Find Me On Facebook Supplies Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Bundle [138865] Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set [137154] Early Espresso A4 Card Stock [121686] Card Stock A4 Crushed Curry [131288] Very Vanilla A4 Card Stock [106550] Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad [126976] Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad [126973] Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad [126974] Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad [131173] Rose Red Classic Stampin' Pad [126954] Metal Rimmed Pearls [138394] Stamping Sponges [101610] Big Shot [113439] Big Shot Magnetic Platform [130658] Butterflies Thinlits Dies [137360] Liquid Multipurpose Glue [110755] Stampin' Dimensionals [104430] ___________________________________________ You Can Create It! I love the look of watercolor. I'd really like to be able to do it myself. So I'm trying. Sanketi of The Storyteller blog has been inspiring me to try. She makes the most incredible cards! There are a lot of other watercolor artists out there that also inspire. So.......... I made a card from some watercolor paper and inked up this stamp from Backyard Basics with markers. Then I squished some ink from inpads and dipped the damp Aqua Painter in the ink to color the flower. I added some accents on the petals with a marker. Then I tried to splotch some green and yellow around the flower to add a sort of wash. It looks kind of muddy. I'll have to work some more on the technique. But I was happy enough with this to share it. I added some score lines to the top, rounded the bottom corners, and added pearls. Addicted to Stamps and More is having an ANYTHING GOES challenge. CAS on Sunday says COLOR ME PRETTY I inked the stamp with markers and colored in the flower with my Aqua Painter The One Layer Simplicity Challenge this month is JUST ADD WATER Virginia's View is a new challenge on the block. Her first challenge is Watercoloring. She has some wonderful inspiration photos and the gallery is full of beautiful watercolored cards. Stampin' Celebration has a lovely inspiration this month...
