Say Good Morning Magnolia as I offer a sneak peek into the new 2019-2020 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue. Enjoy colouring this beautiful flower.
Floral Essence is one of my FAVORITE stamp sets in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog! This is a stamp set that I received at the On Stage conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I couldn't wait to come home and play! When I was in Charlotte I received the new catalog. I looked at some of the sample cards for this stamp set in the catalog and created my card using a few of their ideas! One of the stamps in the set is an outline stamp. I used this on the top panel and then lightly sponged the center
Welcome to the July Creation Station Blog Hop. We've got your back this month! The team is making handcrafted backgrounds to inspire your own creative spirit. Be sure to click on the next button at the end of each post to see every design team member's background creations. Making my own backgrounds is something I love to do. I've shown many different background techniques on past Creation Station blog hops, so I wanted to try something new (at least new to me!). This one is a twist on a watercolor background technique. I love watercolor backgrounds because they always turn out differently. I did a couple of practice runs just to see how the ink colors worked together and then I went for it! The backgrounds each started with stamping the leaf and script images from the Very Versailles stamp set in VersaMark ink onto watercolor paper and embossing them with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. To add the color, I first brushed water over the watercolor paper with my Aqua Painter. Next, I used my ink pads to place ink on my Clear Block F. I spritzed the ink on the clear block, dipped a piece of Window Sheet into the puddled ink, and pressed the inked up window sheet into the embossed watercolor paper. I kept the ink puddles separate and cleaned off my window sheet when I switched colors. I used my Aqua Painter to move the color around a bit as needed and a paper towel to remove excess water. Once the paper was dry, I added splatters to the background. For the background on this card I used Pool Party, Old Olive and a bit of Daffodil Delight inks. I created a frame using two sizes of dies from the Stitched Nested Labels dies and Old Olive card stock. The bird and flowers image was fussy cut from a pattern in the Bird Ballad designer series paper pack. "Hello" is from the Free As A Bird stamp set and was punched out with the Classic Label Punch. The watercolor paper is layered on Old Olive card stock and the card base is Whisper White Thick card stock. I added a few Basic Pearls to finish the card. Before creating the background on this card, I made a mask using one of the Stitched Nested Label Dies and copy paper. I used Washi tape to adhere the mask to the watercolor paper and then stamped the images. I carefully removed the mask before embossing, then replaced it and sealed all the edges around the inside of the mask with Washi tape before I started adding the ink. I did not want the ink to travel outside the footprint of the mask. I also added the splatters before removing the mask. I used Seaside Spray and Old Olive inks on the background. The bird image from Free As A Bird stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso ink and then colored with Stampin' Blends: Seaside Spray combo, Petal Pink combo, Soft Suede combo, Old Olive combo, Daffodil Delight light, and the Color Lifter. The greeting is also from the Free As A Bird stamp set. I fussy cut both the bird image and the greeting piece. The watercolor piece is layered on Seaside Spray card stock and then adhered to a Whisper White Thick card stock base. I finished the card with a Seaside Spray faceted dot and a few Basic Pearls. I hope you are inspired to try this fun background technique on your projects. Now it is time to head on over to Dena's blog, The Creativity Cave. I can't wait to see what she has for us today. To Dena's Blog . . . Thanks for stopping by today!--Sara Nell
It's the men's turn! Fathers, sons, brothers, grandfathers, nephews, uncles, and brothers-in-law are getting some special attention this month. I am always in need of masculine cards, and am so frequently at a loss for ideas. It's hard for me when all I want to do is break out the flower stamps, and add ribbons and bows and doilies, LOL. But I have a special treat for you! I have the Sailing Home bundle from the new annual catalog that starts June 4th, so you get a sneaky peek! And I know Wendy has it too, so the next stop on the tour will have more ideas for this fabulous set! If you landed here from Debbie Henderson's blog, Debbie's Designs, weren't her projects awesome? I'm sure by now you know how to hop, so just follow all the links to take the short five-stop tour. So, when I said I got the Sailing Home bundle, that wasn't entirely true.... I got the entire SUITE! Everything except the High Seas 3D embossing folder, which wasn't on the preorder list, darn it! Anyhoooo, since my daddy was career Navy, and my hubby is also a Navy veteran, I knew I just had to get it. Here is my first card, a birthday card manly enough for any man. The blue seas were embossed with the Seaside folder (retiring!) on a 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Seaside Spray (New In Color!) cardstock. It was adhered to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White, and then on a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Night of Navy mat. I tied the new Night of Navy/Sahara Sand baker's twine in a square knot and adhered the ends on back, then popped the panel up on dimensionals on the Sahara Sand card base. The sail boats were stamped in Night of Navy, and a Blender Pen was used to spread the color around. I think it's awesome that the boats, ship's wheel (cut AND emboss!), and banner are all dies included in the Smooth Sailing Dies! My next card is a perfect thank you for any guy that has helped you in some way. No frilly flowers or bows on this card. Nuh uh. It uses what I think is my favorite (for now, anyway) set in the new catalog - Free As A Bird. It can be bought as a bundle with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, which are uh-MAZE-ing! The bird was stamped in Soft Suede and the leafy branch in Mossy Meadow. After coloring the bird (Crumb Cake Dark & Light, Soft Suede Dark, Calypso Coral Light) and leaves (Mossy Meadow Light) the image was cut with one of the dies. A second piece was cut using the next smaller die from Wood Textures DSP, split and adhered to the back. Notice that beautiful Mossy Meadow Linen Thread? That's part of the Magnolia Lane Suite - another superb suite! I am happy to see that the Woodland embossing folder is carrying over. Here's a close up of the Stitched Nested Label, which is really more like tiny dots, and I LOVE them! Oh there is so much to love in the new catalog, starting with a whole new layout! I can't wait until everyone has their own catalog to pore over. Be sure you have lots of Post-It flags....you're gonna need them! Up next is the wonderful Wendy Weixler, with her Wickedly Wonderful Creations!
Wat heb ik gebruikt: Stempels: Bloemen Zeggen Meer Papier: Cardstock: In Color 2018-2020 Assortment, Whisper White, Thick Whisper White, Basic Black DSP: In Color 2018-2020 6x6 inch Designer Series Paper Inkt: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, Versamark, Memento Black Dies: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Circles Framelits Embellishments: 1/8 inch Grosgrain Ribbon in alle vijf de In-Colors kleuren Tools: Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Big Shot, Stampin'Sponges, tissues Tot snel! Hello and welcome, It is week 11 with the Heart of Christmas blog hop with the ladies from Art with Heart Team and we are showcasing Stampin’ Up! Products from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. This week’s card I’ve created using the Peaceful Boughs Bundle which includes the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set and Beautiful Boughs Dies. Purchasing the two items together as a bundle is a great saving as you can save 10% when you purchase the two products. The colours I’ve used for the card are Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Whisper White. I wanted to keep the card clean and simple. I stamped the second largest branch three times in Garden Green Ink on the Whisper White Cardstock. I’ve used a piece of Garden Green Cardstock and die cut out a branch using the second largest branch die. The pinecones are in Early Espresso and I’ve used the two smaller Pinecone dies. Then I lightly covered them in Snowfall Accents Puff Paint and heat set with the Heat Tool. For the bow I’ve used the Linen Thread and coloured it in with the Dark Suede Stampin’ Blend giving the bow a darker look. I’ve also coloured in the Silver Metallic Pearls with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Marker. The greeting is stamped directly onto the Whisper White Cardstock using Cherry Cobbler Ink and the card base is in Garden Green. Thank you for visiting my blog today and to view everyone from the Art with Heart Team blogs please click here as Tina Gillespie is hosting week 11. Big excitement at my house today! My box of Premier Product Purchases arrived in time for Easter! There were many things in the box but the first thing I got out and played with were the new In-Colour inks and card. I had to try them out ASAP. So here's some quick note cards / gift tags I made to try out each colour. As an added bonus, I also got to have a go with the new set, Good Morning Magnolia. The sentiment and tiny magnolia flower are from it. I'm sure I'll be showing you more of them in the near future. So here they are: Purple Posy, Seaside Spray, Pretty Peacock, Rococco Rose, Terracotta Tile. Can you tell which one is which? Do you have a favourite? Here's a close-up of my favourite new colour: Rococco Rose. Add these colours to your wish list today! If you live in New Zealand and would like me to be your demonstrator, message me or leave a comment. The new catalogue will be available in early June so let you know if you'd like one.

I am so happy to be sharing new products with you. These projects are so pretty and feminine. I will be creating them live tonight, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. ET. I will post a link to the video in case you miss it. First I will create a greeting card. I love the sentiment, it's a great card to send someone just because. The inside is simple, but elegant. Next, I created a purse that is made with a die from the All Dressed Up Dies. There are so many possibilities with this die. I simply love

The more I play with the Timeless Tropical stamp set, the more I like it. I love the 50's-Hawaiian -surfer vibe it has. The co-ordinating products are lots of fun too. The Coastal Weave embossing folder is getting a lot of use, and I love the Braided Burlap Trim too. I used Pool Party for my background panel, and coloured the hibiscus and frangipanis with Blends. Hey peaches! I hope you've had a lovely week so far. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for all of the love and kind words you've shared with me. I'm so grateful to have such encouraging people in my life and you should know that you inspire me too! With that being said, I just wanted to let you all know that starting next week I will be doing one post a week instead of the usual two (with the exception of special blog hops), and they will typically be on Fridays. I have chosen to reduce my blogging for a couple reasons. The first and most important is that I would like to spend a little more time with my family and blogging takes up quite a bit of time. Secondly, I am struggling to find time to work in the classroom and volunteer more at my daughter's school, so I,m trying to balance that out more. I hope that you can understand and I will still continue to create whenever I can and share on my social media accounts often (links below). I still LOVE the creative therapy that this craft has offered and I don't plan on cutting that out of my life. Like I said, It's the blogging part that is so time consuming and I need to take a step back from it. Well, with that out of the way, here's my cards for today: My cards today feature products from the Butterfly Gala Suite. I did want to mention that the Butterfly Duet Punch is currently unavailable, but I found it quite easy to fussy cut the butterflies out. I've added both product links below. Additionally, I am pairing these products with the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, so that adds quite a few more options as you can cut these apart for individual butterflies, layer them, or use the whole piece on your panel. They really are gorgeously versatile. For both of my cards, I created a watercolor panel using Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist Ink. Used the Butterfly Dies to cut out quite a few white butterflies to balance out all of the bright happy colors happening on my cards. I stamped my butterflies in the same colors. The wood butterfly element in the card above was easy to create as well. I used the free Sale-A-Bration Butterfly Elements and used my Stampin' Blends in coordinating colors to color it. The wood takes the ink very well so you can customize them any way you like. On my other card you'll notice a strip of striped paper peeking out. That is the amazing Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (DSP)! It's pretty cool. one side has colorful botanical patterns; while the other has bold black and white patterns. I just love it and it's another free Sale-A-Bration item! Here's a close up of that card: Well, those are my cards for today! I hope that you have enjoyed them! Hello Crafty Friends, Hope you are having a great day. I have been having a productive one and thought I would share a few quick and easy cards made using the fabulous new Tropical Chic bundle. As the title suggests, this bundle has a tropical theme, with a Frangapani flower and loads of tropical leaves. The co coordinating framelits are really versatile with framelits that cut your stamped images and some of the images on the DSP. Plus there are also thinlits that make matching foliage die cuts. The background of this set of cards have been embossed with the new Subtle Embossing Folder. The images were stamped using: Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Tempting Turquoise, Berry Burst and Granny Apple Green. I love the new brights colour family so much I have been making batch of cards in different colours because not everyone loves pink (say what? lol) Coastal Cabana is definitely on the top of my favorite list.....and its not a red/pink tone! Pineapple Punch and below in Flirty Flamingo. And finally a Granny Apple Green version. I will share the next set of cards in another post, keep an eye out for more inspiration using this stunning bundle along with some other new goodies that I got to unbox last week. Until next time, stay crafty
