Valentine's Day Week (It should actually be a season of the year.) One thing that I love about Valentines Day is that it is a-ok to wear pink with red. As a matter of fact, it actually looks good together! As teachers, we tend to see it as a fun friendship day amongst the students and teachers. However, high school girls tend to see it as a nerve-wracking day. Hoping to NOT get a valentine from a boy “out of the blue,” or as the case may be, hoping that "the boyfriend" will actually follow through with something meaningful, yet not extravagant. It is truly a rock and a hard place for many. However, as far as young primary students go...it couldn't be more fun! (Except for Christmas, of course.) In the past I have used printables, or rather copies, from the oldie-but-goody resource books, for everything including Valentine bag decorations, classwork, and homework. Now that I know how to create things with PPT, I cannot wait to create the next printable that we will use for ________________ (fill in the blank). Creating things for TpT has certainly been a creative outlet for me. It is actually relaxing to me. Also, it is exciting to see one of my lessons that I have created in the past become an actual product that looks so cute with the graphics and clipart that I am now addicted to. :-) Thanks to Ashley Hughes, Krista Wallden, and Lovin Lit to name a few. Of course sometimes the cute clipart inspires activities galore, which was the case for my latest Valentine activity pack. So...here is my latest creation that is Valentines-ish as well as contraction-y and friendly letter-esque. FREEBIE I have posted a freebie sample of the larger pack if you would like to check it out here. I realize that it is very close to V-Day for all of you early planners, but I had to post the parts that are complete. I posted them once, and then decided to revise and expand the pack. I have other ideas as well, but they may have to wait until next year. You can find the freebie sample here and the full pack here. They are both in my store on teachers pay teachers, The Think Aloud Cloud. And now for the TpT giveaway... The teachers who are a part of the Freebie-licious blog are have a big blog hop giveaway. They are each giving away $10 gift cards to TpT! Now THAT is the perfect Valentine's Day gift!! Would one of you please email my husband about that? If you would like to join in on the fun, click on the button below. here. BTW, I learned something new... Lori from Teaching with Love and Laughter had this challenge on her blog to link to Freebie-licious. I did it! I would NOT have been able to figure that one out even 8 months ago. Good times! (Never mind...I haven't figured it out quite yet. Maybe next time!) Have a wonderful pink and red day on Friday!! Carrie

Happy first day of spring! To celebrate I’ve made a special treat for you with colorful spring flowers. I’ve been enamored with edible flowers ever since making candied rose petals earlier this year. By doing a little…

These make a lovely cookie for Valentine's Day. NOTE: Rose water is not strong enough flavoring. Be sure to use rose fluid, available from many drugstores. You can use rose water, but you will have to double the amount.

So it’s no secret there’s a sale a comin’ tomorrow. A SUPER SALE!! I managed to finish a few units just in time for you to grab them for a cool 28% off… Wanna see? Of course you do! {Click the picture to grab it} I’ve been a fan of “The Day It Rained Hearts” for a while now. It is such a sweet, sweet book. Super simple concept, super loving message. I got the itch to make a little something to go with it last year, but I just finally got around to it just now. I came up with an umbrella raining hearts…I know, how on earth did I come up with that?!! What I love about this craft is that I can use it now with the book, and again in the spring because it has a definite spring vibe going on. We’ll be using our umbrellas to cover parts of speech next week, but the possibilities are endless! You could do spelling words, rhyming words, hearts for family members…whatever your little heart desires :) This little unit is also loaded with comprehension sheets and writing papers. It goes perfectly with the book, but it definitely works independently of it as well! I also finished up my “Plant a Kiss” unit. Just like “The Day It Rained Hearts” this unit goes really well with the adorable book, but it also works out all by itself. Would you like to plant a kiss with your class? I know I can’t wait to get this started with my little guys and gals. {Click the picture to grab it} Here’s a little kiss pot: So cute, right? Of course, to plant a kiss, you need some seeds. We’ll be giving our seeds to our mommies and daddies for Valentine’s Day. Mom and Dad can exchange them for a kiss or an act of kindness, or both! This unit is also loaded with writing papers and activity sheets too. I couldn’t help myself! I’ve bundled both of these guys with my Mr. Hatch mini-unit, so if you’re looking to have your Valentine’s reading block covered….here you go!!! {Click the picture to grab it from TpT} This unit’s been floating around my store for a little while, but I finally get to break it out with my class next week when we get to similes. We’ll be writing about love using similes. {Click the picture above to grab it} I can’t wait to read their answers! I hope you’ll check out my store when you’re shoppin’ tomorrow! I’ve got lots of goodies :) Have a good night! Halle

Slovo recyklace je v posledních letech skloňováno ze všech stran a nejrůznější dekorace ze starých a nepotřebných materiálů jsou doslova v módě. A některé vůbec nevypadají špatně! Vytvořte si andílky z kartonu z použité krabice a ze zbytků vlny. Nejlépe bude vypadat bavlněná pletací příze, ale úplně postačí i kousek provázku.

Happy Sunday, friends! Time for a fun new creative challenge over at The Paper Players! This week, the lovely Jaydee is hosting our Theme Challenge. This is such a fun challenge with so many possibilities to celebrate the spring season! Spring is definitely in the air here in Texas, although it’s supposed to be 86 degrees today with another cold front coming through tonight. We’ll see temps dipping into the 30’s again this week. Texas weather is so crazy this time of year. You can get all four seasons in one week! Hopefully this next cold front will be the last and we will start to see everything starting to bloom in the yard really soon. *I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my card below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post. Color Combo: Petal Pink Soft Sea Foam Gray Granite Pool Party I just love the Easter Friends stamp set in the January - June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog! I’ve been wanting to ink it up for a while now and this theme challenge was the perfect time. That sweet little bunny is too cute! I created a little background scene using the grass image from the stamp set and added some Pool Party ink with a Blending Brush to create the “sky”. This stamp set does not have coordinating dies, but the image was pretty easy to cut out. :) Once I decided on my color combo, I just wasn’t finding any patterned paper that I liked for this card. Then, I remembered the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder which was perfect to add pattern and texture all at once. With all of those little flowers in the background, I thought it would be fun for the little bunny to have a flower of her own. I die cut a trio of tiny flowers from the Pierced Blooms Dies and used the two extra inside the card. Card Measurements & Details: Thick Basic White Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2” Soft Sea Foam Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4” Petal Pink Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, emboss with Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder Soft Sea Foam Cardstock: 1-3/4” x 3-7/8”, stamp sentiment in Momento ink Basic White Cardstock: scrap to die cut the 2-1/4” x 3-1/2” rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Stamp the grass in Soft Sea Foam ink and add some Pool Party ink to the background using a Blending Bush. Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp the bunny image in Momento ink, color with Stampin’ Blends and accent with Wink of Stella for added sparkle Petal Pink Cardstock: scrap to die cut three of the smallest flowers in the Pierced Blooms Dies (one on front of card, two inside card) Champagne Rhinestones and Whisper White Crinkled Seam binding Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment in Momento ink, add flowers Soft Sea Foam Cardstock (inside card): 3-7/8” x 1/4” Finally, here is look inside the card. I added another layer of Basic White Cardstock with a coordinating stamped sentiment and the two extra die cut flowers from the Pierced Blooms Dies. For the centers of the flowers, I used a retired punch to get those itty bitty circles and used Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper (item #156844) to add a pop of sparkle. Then I added a small scrap of Soft Sea Foam Cardstock some more color to the inside of the card. I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for our ”Spring is in the Air” Theme Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with!
