A One-Row buttonhole is a tidy, neat and strong way to make a buttonhole. It makes a buttonhole in the same direction as the knitting, but fortunately, most patterns expect your buttonholes to go this way. In fact, going in the other direction is much harder for knitting. Working a one-row buttonhole is pretty simple …
Tell me, how could I NOT knit this girl ( Venus of Willendorf Images ), after I found this pattern? The original Venus of Willendorf was found 1908 in Austria, and was made of limestone. You can read more about her here. I really wanted for my Venus to look like stone, and I wanted to use rustic looking handspun for her, to make her extra special. I had some light grey Coopworth in my fiber stash, it must have been one of the first fiber packages I ever bought in 2007. Nasty stuff, as it turned out. Not well prepared at all, but I got enough yarn out of it, to knit my giant Big Momma Venus! I modified her head a little, to look more like the real one. pattern: Venus de Merino by Lara Breese of Dark Twist. or as Ravelry instant download yarn: Coopworth handspun, ~ 80yds (including what you need for sewing) needle: 3.25mm DP (I used smaller needles, than the yarn would call for, to get a tight knit fabric) size : of Big Momma Venus: 9.25" high 8" wide - yes she's bigger than the real one start-finish: Feb. 17-18 *** yarn: handspun "Silver Dollar", 3-ply, (spun this about a year ago, and had it left over from my dad's birthday scarf; needles: 2.75mm DP size: of the little ones: 6" high, 4.5" wide start-finish: Feb. 19-20 (was kind of obsessed and made 3 in two days) *** The little ones are meant as "Good Luck" charms for my family. :o) I'm keeping the big one for myself. Fiber: Gemini Fibers, bought in 2007, my first fiber bought for spinning, I was looking for the cheapest fiber so I could practice spinning on my spindle; thankfully I didn't bother with it too much and moved on to better fiber, because I would not have continued spinning, and given up on it, because it was so frustrating to spin. A lot of veggetable matter and nibs. I think this fiber, prepared better would not be so bad at all. Content: light grey Coopworth Weight: 200g yardage: I wanted to spin it thicker as normal for me, and filled one bobbin; it was a disaster, kept it as singles; tried again and made 2 skeins 71yds each WPI: 11 Ply: navajo plied ***
The Big Old Bias Knit Scarf elevates basic garter stitch with a refined simplicity. Knitting on the bias, or knitting diagonally, involves increasing on one edge of your work while decreasing at the same rate on the other edge. The end result is a beginner-friendly project that looks incredibly clean and well put together. This particular pattern is a great way to use up yarn ends. All you need to know in order to create this fun scarf is how to knit, make one right, and knit two together. To add a bit of whimsy, add some tassels and you'll have a beautiful free scarf knitting pattern you'll never want to take off!

Anna mielikuvituksen kuljettaa! 16-sivuinen PDF-ohje sisältää sanalliset ja kuvalliset ohjeet Kepposet-kirjoneulesukkien kahteen eri kokoon: Kepposet kapeammalle pohkeelle: Koko: 38-39 Pohkeen ympärys: noin 35-40 cm Puikot: 3,5 mm Lanka: Novita 7 veljestä, Kaupunkilanka Kivijalka ja muut saman vahvuiset sukkalangat Valmiiden sukkien paino: 275g Tiheys: 23 silmukkaa ja 25 kerrosta kirjoneuletta = 10 x 10 cm Suunnittelija: Heini Perälä - Heinikki design Menekki väreittäin: Väri 1, musta: 75 grammaa Väri 2, valkoinen: 56 grammaa Väri 3, tumma violetti: 45 grammaa Väri 4, violetti: 60 grammaa Väri 5, oranssi: 27 grammaa Väri 6, keltainen: 15 grammaa Kepposet leveämmälle pohkeelle: Koko: 38-39 Pohkeen ympärys: noin 43-48 cm Puikot: 3,5 mm Lanka: Novita 7 veljestä, Kaupunkilanka Kivijalka ja muut saman vahvuiset sukkalangat Langanmenekki kokonaisuudessaan: 330g Tiheys: 23 silmukkaa ja 25 kerrosta kirjoneuletta = 10 x 10 cm Suunnittelija: Heini Perälä - Heinikki design Menekki väreittäin: Väri 1, musta: 114 grammaa Väri 2, vaaleanharmaa: 60 grammaa Väri 3, petrooli: 34 grammaa Väri 4, minttu: 28 grammaa Väri 5, sammal: 53 grammaa Väri 6, vihreä: 41 grammaa Suosittelen että neulot molemmat sukat yhtä aikaa. I have made this wool wash, rather than buying it, and it works brilliantly. It leaves the woollens really soft and smelling lovely, and I also use it when I am wanting to freshen up sheets and doonas etc, and for sterilising these items while they wash. It's also great for towels. I have had this 1st batch for at least 6 months, and I freshened it up a week or so ago by adding some hot water to it, as it hard hardened up and was becoming hard to scoop out. It is now really good again, and should last many more uses before I need to make any more. This is the recipe: Home Made Wool Wash 200ml methylated spirits 300g lux pure soap flakes or grated laundry soap 100ml eucalyptus oil Mix all ingredients and store in a wide necked jar. Use 1- 2 tablespoons per wash. Mix with hot water and then add to warm wash.

Modern crochet sweater that might look complicated, but is really easy to make. Top-down, big hook and no seaming - it is a fast make! There 2 different variations - one with a narrow waistband (grey sweater) and one with a straight edge (white sweater). The pattern has written instructions, a chart for the yoke for each size and a photo tutorial for FPdc.I crocheted using 2 different yarns held together - a thin wool and a kid mohair. This gives an airy appearance and a light-weight garment. You can easily use other kinds of yarn of your choice. But choose a thinner yarn than you might expect and feel comfortable with - otherwise it won’t drape and will be bulky.Sizes: 1 (2) 3 (4) Finished measurements: Sweater circumference at chest: 96 (112) 120 (140) cm Sleeve circumference: 30 (35) 36 (42) cm Length: 46 cm. As it is made top-down, you can easily make it longer Be aware that the pattern has a lot of elasticity.

The other day, I posed about the custom stand that my husband built for my Ashford Rigid Heddle loom. Now, here's what I've got weaving.....a handspun houndstooth scarf. There's something to be said for knitting and weaving with your own handspun. It absolutely tickles me pink that I've created a yarn that I will then use to create a finished garment. In this instance, I have some leftover handspun that I called "Tweed Spice" from my Hiker's Waistcoast. There's quite a bit left -- not enough to make another sweater, but certainly a lot more than just a hat. It's a lovely merino/silk blend that reminds me of the color of my tabby cats. And it was a pleasure to knit with it. So, I decided to combine it with commercial yarn (Cascade Venezia Worsted) to make a houndstooth scarf using my Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom. I know from weaving my Zippered Pouch that the merino and silk would give me a beautiful drape, even with a thicker yarn than the sport weight, especially once it's been washed and fulled. Right now, it's a bit slow going as I warped quite a bit, and I only have a few moments here & there to spare for weaving. But it's coming out rather nicely.

Jagger Spun's Gotland yarn combines the same high-quality, top-dyed wool used in their Heather line, with Gotland wool. Gotland sheep produce lustrous fiber with a natural silvery shine that dyes beautifully. These rich colors have a gray undertone that work well together, as well as with other yarns in the Heather line. About the yarn: 50% undyed Gotland wool, 50% top-dyed wool Sport weight 50 grams/166 yards Gauge: 24 stitches/4 inches on US size 3-4 needles Project ideas: Pyramid Hike Hat by Tressa Weidenaar, 2 skeins (1 MC, 1 CC) Woodlands Pullover by Tif Neilan, 1 MC, 2 CCs (see pattern for yardage requirements by size) About who makes it: Spun in Maine by Jagger, a family-run fiber mill with a nearly 140-year spinning tradition, this yarn is created with wool from the UK that is brought to Jagger, where it is spun into high-quality yarn that supports New England's fiber-making history. Maine has a long and proud tradition of woolen mills, but very few exist in operation today. We're so happy to partner with Jagger and bring this beautiful yarn - a piece of our home state, and the heritage of its fibershed - to our shop for you to enjoy. Note: We make every effort to photograph yarn colors as accurately as possible, but individual screen resolutions may vary.
