Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I am thrilled to be able to share with you a few projects that I made using products from the new Tunnel Scapes Collection by Vicky Papaioannou. This collection is absolutely gorgeous and is perfect for all year round. My first project is a 3D shadow box card that features both the Underwater Tunnel Etched Dies and the Underwater Marine Life Etched Dies. All my images were die cut and the only stamping that I did was the sentiment on the top left corner of my box card. When folded, my card measures at 5 ¾” x 5 ½” and can fit into a standard 6×6 envelope with a little bit of room to spare on one end. When popped upright, my card measures at 5 ½” high x 4 ¼” wide x 1 ½” deep. Steps for making a 3D Underwater Tunnel Shadow Box Card: First trim two pieces of card stock (I used Spellbinders Snowdrift white) to 7 ¼” long x 5 ½” wide. Score each piece at 1 ½ “ from each end and use one panel as the rear of the box card and one panel as the front. For the piece that will be in the front, die cut a tunnel window in the center of it using the largest tunnel die from the Underwater Tunnel Etched Dies Set. Set aside the piece with the tunnel window and create two more tunnel pieces by first trimming two separate pieces of card stock (using the colors of your choice) to 4 ¾” long by 5 ½” wide. (I used both Waterfall and Teal Topaz) Score each end of both pieces of card stock at ¼” and fold to form tabs Die cut a tunnel window into each piece using the 2nd and 3rd smallest tunnel window dies. Using liquid adhesive, adhere the panel with the smallest tunnel window at the rear of the box card by attaching the tabs to the walls of the card. Repeat this with the second largest window in front of the smaller one Attach all the images (fish, foliage etc.) that you want to use on the inside of the shadow box. You can also add a background to the very back of the box (to be seen through the tunnel) if you desire. For my background, I blended a mix of Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Prized Ribbon Distress Oxide Inks and spattered it with some water to give a textured watery look. Stamp your sentiment on the front panel of your card and then attach it to the base by securing the side tabs to the side tabs of the base piece. TIP: When you are adding in the tunnel window layers, make sure that your box can still fold flat from side to side before the glue sets. This way, your box card be lined up and able to fold easily to fit into an envelope when finished. Once done, your card should fold perfectly to fit into the envelope of your choice. I added a few images to the outside of my card as well for added interest. For my second project, I used the new Tunnel Clouds Etched Dies and the Perched Birds Etched Dies. Instead of using the Tunnel Clouds to look like clouds, I die cut them to resemble puffy trees around which I placed my birds. In order to give my card a slightly 3D look, I placed a layer of double-sided 3D foam adhesive tape in between each card stock layer as well as below each bird in order to pop them up. For my last card, I created a simple but bold card using the Rainbow Slice Tunnel Etched Dies and some colored card stock. I hope you enjoyed my cards today and love this gorgeous collection as much as I do! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! Rachel
Hi everyone! It's no secret I love all things floral. Paper, stamps and dies -I love them all! My latest obsession is with the new flower die set from Spellbinders called Be Bold Blooms! I spent a few hours one day cutting all the pieces from many colors to have on the ready. Here are a few of the cards I made with them. First up are cards using gorgeous peachy colors for the blooms and a blue toned green for the stems and leaves. For this set I used silver micro beads in the centers. Cardstock used: Spellbinders Barely Peach, SU! Petal Pink, Concord and 9th Grapefruit Concord and 9th Evergreen and Clover Gina K Designs Master Layouts 7 dies (slimline) Pinkfresh Studio Stitched Scalloped Squares Next up is a set I made using aqua and yellow colors and traditional grass green tones for the stems and leaves. I can't decide which I love more -lol! Spellbinders cardstock: Waterfall, Teal Topaz, Blue Spruce, Fern Pinkfresh Studio Stitched Scalloped Circles Other cardstock: New Leaf (PTI); Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry (SU!) Products used on these cards: These are affiliate links which means that if you shop with these, I will receive a small commission at no cost to you. If I've inspired you in some way I appreciate your support. Here are close up pics of each card Here is how I keep my Be Bold Blooms die cuts to have them at the ready. I have a ton of these plastic containers from back in the day when I kept my buttons in them and the compartments are the perfect size!

the Spellbinders Kits of the Month - June 2021. Small Die, Large Die, APG, Hot foil, Stamp of the Month, Spellbinders card Kit June 2021
Happy Wednesday friends! I’m excited to share a couple of projects today made with the new Heartfelt Collection by Rosie's Studio from Spellbinders (you can check out the rest of the March Release here!). This collection contains beautiful papers and embellishments as well as an adorable scooter die set perfect for creating sweet cards for any occasion. Here I've used the Ciao Die Set to create a bright and cheery love card, but be sure to check out the sneak peek below for several more project ideas! After cutting the scooter and balloons out of several bright colors of cardstock, I adhered everything together with liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of dimension. I trimmed a piece of patterned paper from the Rainbow Twirl Paper Pack down to 4 x 5.25 and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base before adding a sweet arch background cut using the Make A Wish Arch Labels Die Set. To finish off the card, I foiled a sentiment in silver using the Must-Have Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set, cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up in the corner with foam adhesive. And here's a peek at three more projects I created using the Ciao Die Set along with the contents of the Heartfelt Cardmakers Kit...you can find all of the details for these cards over on the Spellbinders blog here! CUTE DINOSAUR CARD And I had to share one more card made with a fun freebie die set available from March 28th to the 31st with any purchase in the Spellbinders shop of $75 or more - Hand Drawn Stars. Four sweet stars and a shadow layer are included in this deal and I thought they would be adorable on this card for my daughter. After cutting a piece of white cardstock with one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies, I inked a pretty background using Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink. I glued the stars onto the inked background with liquid glue and then popped the panel up on top of a piece of white cardstock that I had embossed with the Monoline Stars Embossing Folder. After diecutting Waterfall and Teal Topaz Cardstock with the Birthday Dinosaur Die Set and assembling him with liquid glue, I added him to the front of the card with foam adhesive along with a sentiment from the All Star Sentiments Die Set. I hope you enjoyed these cute cards and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can shop the Heartfelt Collection by Rosie's Studio now and create your own beautiful cards for every occasion! And don’t miss out on that adorable star die set free with every purchase of $75 or more from March 28th through the 31st while supplies last! Supplies Used: Note: This post contains affiliate links. Hello there, I am delighted to be continuing working with Spellbinders this year as part of the Clubs Influencer Program. I will once again be working with the Large Die of the Month Club Kit. Although there are lots of other kits available and some new ones this year too, like the stitching club and the 3D embossing folder club, I really like the large die club and I am excited to continue with it. PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure. This month's Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club Kit is called Club Blooms and you can see why! The kit is filled with gorgeous flowers and foliage that can be used in so many different ways. I started off by die cutting the flowers from the kit (a lot of these can be layered up for different looks) from Spellbinders Cardstock in blues, purples and pink. The flower centres use Spellbinders Chamomile and Beeswax Cardstock. I then cut the foliage using Spellbinders Peridot and Rainforest Cardstock. I took a panel of cardstock and added horizontal scored lines on to it (not really that visible in the photos but do add a slight extra touch in real life) and then started arranging the flowers and foliage on top, adhering with Bearly Art Glue. The panel was then adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with thin foam tape. I took the sentiment from the Spellbinders Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and foiled it on to white cardstock using Spellbinders Black Foil with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. I then die cut it out with the coordinating die and and adhered it to the card with more thin foam tape and Bearly Art Glue. To finish off, I added yellow enamel dots to the centres of the flowers. SPELLBINDERS CLUB KITS I hope that you will check out the Spellbinders Club Kits. It is a wonderful monthly subscription where you receive the kit each month. Designers like myself share inspiration using the kit at the beginning of the month to show you lots of different ways that you can use it. There are also lots of other club kits too, like the Small Die of the Month and Clear Stamp & Die of the Month (plus lots more!), so there is something for everyone! If you do subscribe, you will get other benefits from Spellbinders too. Please see here for more information. You can also buy older kits here too. I had so much fun creating a Girl & Boy card using the NEW Big Pugs (S7-248) along with the Cats and Pugs Sentiments (STP-232). This die made it super easy to create a shaped card for a little added playfulness. #1 - You Are My Favorite Human Card Measurements: White Pug Shape Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" White Pug Shape: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Pink Sentiment Mat: 2 3/4" x 1/2" White Sentiment Strip: 2 5/8" x 3/8" To Create Pug Shaped Card Base: Create A2 Top Fold Card Base measuring: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"). Fold card base in half to create a finished card base. Join Kim Kesti in the Creative Classroom as she creates with a fresh, new die set from the Be Bold collection, called Lemon Zest. The Lemon Zest dies (S4-1173) include leaf dies with a unique feature. In this set you’ll find a 5-leaf cluster but also 5 extra half-leaf dies to add a highlight or shadow to the leaves. Simply die cut the half leaves using an alternate shade of cardstock and layer onto the leaf cluster to bring your leaves to life. To add extra dimension and personality, Kim adds some simple inking to the leaves and lemons. In today’s video, you’ll see Kim work on a Stencil Mat from Waffle Flower Crafts. This multi-function silicone craft mat features raised edges on two sides to hold cardstock and a stencil in the place. It’s also the perfect surface for Kim to blend Distress Inks onto her lemons and leaves. She uses Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn to deepen the colors and add shading. Watch today’s video to see Kim’s trick to make the lemon’s white highlights pop. You can also see how she uses the slot at end of the lemon to attach it to the stem. The die set comes with additional stems, and blossoms to create fresh citrus bouquets and clusters. Watch video below or on Youtube: To create a bold background, Kim uses a favorite technique that begins with a white cardstock panel. Then she trims and adheres black cardstock stripes. She attached the striped panel onto a blue card base for a fresh and pretty springtime card. The only thing missing is a sentiment, so Kim uses the Many Birthdays stamp and die cutting set (coming soon!). This new set contains large script words Happy Birthday with coordinating dies, plus other birthday sentiment stamps to combine or use on their own. This is definitely a powerhouse set that you’ll use again and again. Kim adds the stamped sentiment to a die cut circle and then finishes off the card with die cut blossoms and Color Essential Gems. (What card is complete without a little sparkle?) Be sure to watch the video to see the beautiful color of the AB or Aurora Borealis effect on our new gems. Hello crafty friends, and happy new year! My first project of the year is a DIY desk calendar featuring the large die club of January 2024 from Spellbinders. You've probably seen a random ad about a flower vase printed calendar. I was inspired by the ad and tried to make my own version. I've just
Hello there! This is Lisa from My Card Trip and I am thrilled to be a guest here on the Spellbinders blog. Today I am sharing some inspiration with the newly released Fresh Picked Collection. This is such a beautiful collection – modern, contemporary floral and berry designs along with a super sentiment set and a stylish versatile embossing folder. I live in the southern part of England and this collection makes me want to skip the next few grey months and dive straight into Spring and Summer. So, let’s get started with my cards! Hello Whenever I see a leaf die, I am always tempted to make a wreath! So today I thought I would make a wreath with lots of foliage and some berries interspersed amongst all the greenery. The set I am working with for this card is Fresh Picked Berries Etched Dies. I started by picking out three green cardstocks for my foliage – Peridot, Rainforest and Fern Color Essentials Cardstock. I cut the leaf die three times from each and then I thought that it would be good to break up the green foliage a little bit, so I also die cut the leaf die three times from 80lb white card. For the berries, I used two different color palettes. The purple berries were die cut from Lilac Blossom Color Essentials Cardstock and Royal Amethyst Color Essentials Cardstock. The pink berries were die cut from Fruit Punch Color Essentials Cardstock and a deeper pink cardstock from my stash. The little berry toppers were just cut from 80lb white. I assembled them using Bearly Art Glue and set everything to one side. To help me with the placement of all my elements, I took an Everlasting Circle Etched Die, and using a pencil I drew a very faint line around the circle onto some white card. I erased as much of it as I could without losing it altogether! This now serves as a guideline for my foliage placement. I adhered each die cut using a small bit of adhesive on the lower stem section and I worked in batches of Peridot, Rainforest, Fern and white each time. So, I knew that these four die cuts would need to take up about a third of the wreath. I then adhered the berries randomly around the wreath amongst the leaves. I took the Fresh Picked Sentiments Etched Dies and die cut “Hello” three times from a white card. I adhered them together in a little stack and added some thin foam tape in the center section at the back (so that the wreath would be level when placed down). To finish I added some glossy white pearls for embellishment. Hi My next card features the beautiful Fresh Picked Buttercups Etched Dies. This might be my favourite set but it’s hard to choose! The Fresh Picked Collection sets have been designed so that you can create a full A2 panel with the dies. They kind of fit together like a jigsaw puzzle so you do have the option to create with them in this way. This is really helpful if you struggle with design or just simply want to make a quick card. However, I thought I would use them in a spray design today. So, I began by die cutting all my pieces from Rainforest Color Essentials Cardstock, Peridot Color Essentials Cardstock and Beeswax Color Essentials Cardstock. I took a small round-headed blending brush and blended Fossilized Amber Distress Ink into the centers of the buttercups, and also onto the bottom of the unopened buttercup buds. Next, I die-cut the centers from gold glitter cardstock and adhered them to the middle of the flowers with Bearly Art Glue. I now had all my elements ready to place, so I played around with my design until I was happy with how the spray looked and I took a photo. To get my leaves exactly where I wanted them, and to fill a few gaps, I did trim out a couple of single leaves from the larger foliage pieces. For my background, I ran a panel of Glacier Cardstock Essentials Cardstock through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine with the Columns Embossing Folder. This was trimmed down a little and adhered onto a top folding A2 white notecard. This folder works really well for so many designs. I also think it would be a great folder for masculine cards. To give the flowers some dimension (and room for me to tuck the leaves behind), I added some thin foam tape onto the back of the three central flowers. I adhered them down and then added my foliage around them, just using tiny dabs of glue on the ends of the stems to keep them in place. I added the flower buds and smaller flowers where they were needed. I’m always in need of general “hello, hi” cards, so I took the Fresh Picked Sentiments Etched Dies and die-cut “hi” three times from white card. The die cuts were adhered into a little stack and then added onto my panel. For a bit of extra sparkle, I added some Gold Mix Color Essential Gems around the spray. Thinking Of You My final card uses the gorgeous Fresh Picked Anemones Etched Dies. I absolutely adore anemones and have lots in my garden, so this was also a favorite set! See, I told you it’s hard to pick a favorite – they are all fabulous in their own way! I used this set more in the way that it was intended. You can actually line up four anemones on a horizontal A2 card but I went with three for my card today. Again, I started off by doing all of my die-cutting. I used Pink Sand and Fruit Punch Color Essentials Cardstock for the petals of the flower; white card for the larger centerpiece, and a gold glitter card for the smaller center portion. The leaves and stems were die-cut from Rainforest Color Essentials Cardstock. You can make your own glitter cardstock really easily and I used some for the centres of the flowers. They were die-cut from a panel of Solaria Gold Art Glitter cardstock – it is super sparkly! I have a batch of small panels ready for when I need them. I did a step by step guest blog post recently on using Art Glitter, so you may want to check that out for ideas. I adhered the flower heads together using Bearly Art Glue and then I added them onto the stems, again with wet adhesive. The three completed flowers were adhered to a white panel that I had trimmed down a tiny bit at the bottom. This panel was then added onto a top folding white A2 notecard using adhesive. To ground the flowers a little, I added a very thin strip of Solaria Gold Art Glitter card along the bottom edge. My sentiment comes from Must-Have Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set. I foiled the hot foil plate using Champagne Glimmer Hot Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. The sentiments were cut out with the coordinating die set and I also cut some extra from plain white card so that I could make a small stack. This was then added across the leaves using Bearly Art Glue. To finish the card off, I added some Gold Mix Color Essential Gems for embellishment. I hope that this gives you some inspiration for these sets. They really were a joy to create with and I hope I can find some time to play with them a bit more in the next few weeks and months. I'm often inspired by my sweet friend Therese from Lost in Paper! This time she 'enabled' me to do a little shopping, too! Thanks so much, T! Please find her latest 'same but different' card making session HERE - I had so much fun with these Spellbinders Fresh Picked Anemones... I've said it before: with anemones like these, who needs friends? [just kidding! what would I do without you?] Coming up with my own designs wasn't hard at all - but you know I had to bring some grey to the table, right? SB was very clever to keep all three of the 'sections' of these Anemones together so that three back petals, three front petals, three sets of centers, and three different stems are cut together. I wanted white blooms today, but used a pale grey for the 'inside' back petal to give them dimension. I created an oval 'frame' with SB Essential Stylish Ovals - then quickly debossed it using Altenew's Dotted Starbust Debossing Cover Die before popping it up on my card base. This sentiment is one I had on hand from Waffle Flower Crafts: Hello Friend combo set. A dash of PF gems and my card is complete! This time, I've used blue - yes, blue! Very pale Powder Blue from C&9th to be exact, with a peachy center, and navy stems and leaves! The texture in my cover panel comes from Altenew's Dotted Geo Cover die and the sentiment is a Spellbinders' Betterpress Sentiments of Wonder set. This card measures 4 x 6" - perfect for this trio of blooms. Last, but not least, a tiny little note card using the final bloom - and a bit more grey! The 'love you' comes from Altenew's Fresh Freesia, cut with their Featured Sentiments die set. And, voila! My card trio is complete - and I had such fun! Thanks so very much, Therese, for always inspiring me! and thanks to you, my friends for stopping by - of course I'd appreciate it so much if you'd hop over to Therese's blog post and IF you fancy a bit of shopping, please use her affiliate links? Thanks, tons! =] Michele Therese will be LIVE on YouTube today at 6 EST! Come join me in the chat space!

Hi everyone! I am excited to share a cute mushroom card made with one of the sets from the brand new Out & About Collection released this month from Spellbinders. This collection features 15 super cute die sets that are perfectly sized perfectly to fit in the new smaller Spellbinders Scout Die Cutting Machine. If you missed my first gnome card with this collection, you can check it out HERE. MUSHROOM MANSION AND A LITTLE HELLO SENTIMENTS DIE SETS This adorable mushroom house is from the Mushroom Mansion die set. I mean how cute is this?!?! This is a set of 14 dies and features this house, tiny mushroom, flowers and greenery with a price of $24.99. The Hello sentiment is from the A Little Hello Sentiments stamp and die set. I love the font and scale of this word! 😍 I'm not big into creating scenes, but I wanted to give the Mansion a little something behind it, so I used a cloud stencil and then straight blending for the green. To give the mushrooms some sparkle, I added Glitter Brush Markers in clear to the red caps. I added a gem to the center of each flower and used 2 of the new 9 Color Essential Gems released this month. I used the colors Berry and Orchid. Not gonna lie, Berry is my hands down favorite! If you haven't had a chance to check out the other June releases you should take a peek. There is a lot of great stuff his month! And just in case you missed it, I shared a simple card using the new Fair Winds Collection by Dawn Woleslagle (which has gorgeous waterfront dies, stamps, and stencils!) and you can find it on THIS POST. Hello crafty friends! I have created more cards featuring the Game Day Collection, and I am excited to share them with you. Football Greeting Card "I made this jersey for Miami Dolphins fans." Honestly, I'm not a fan of any sports team. So I didn't have any idea what color of jersey would be good.
