Hello everyone. I'm back with another project using the Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace October die set, the 3D pop up vignette camera. This time I created the full 3d camera, which can be laid flat to put in an envelope. I used black cardstock and silver metallic cardstock. I thought the silver was a bit to shiny so I coated the paper with vintage distress collage medium from Ranger before I cut out the different pieces. The brown strap is made from kraft colored heavy cardstock which was treated with ink refresher to give it a faux leather look. On the lens I wrote with white gel pen Spellbinders APG Oct. 2020. On the four panels I glued vintage photo's from Craft O Clock - Vintage photoset I. I really like how this camera turned out. It looks quite real. I have been playing around and experimenting with Spellbinders Elegant 3D Vignettes (dimensional dies) by Becca Feeken. This particular die is called Grand Dome. The coolest thing about these dimensional cards is that they fold flat for placing in envelopes. My video shows how. Ohhhhhh, I have sooo many ideas for this die! I believe I have too many ideas and not enough time for creating. A problem we probably all have. I created a little seascape using the Sea Land paper collection from Stamparia. It's my version of a ship in a bottle concept. The sweet sea gulls are also from the Stamperia paper . I simply cut them out and added some hemp cord for salty seascape effect. The adorable tiny starfish were given to my by my scrappy friend, Kathi Simmons. Thanks Kathi! They are the perfect finishing touch. Once all the pieces were cut, I inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink for bold accent, then pieced the card together. The small die in the set made the perfect topper for my card. Thanks for stopping. I appreciate your time. Thanks to Spellbinders also, for selecting me to be a Spellblogger. Where to shop? You can shop for all your Spellbinders dies right here . Click photos to enlarge: Cut out oven front die 2 times with door inserts: 1 Dark Teal. 1 Light Teal. Cut oven front die without door inserts 6 times: 5 Dark Teal, 1 Light Gray. Trim pieces as noted. Cut remaining pieces; note that many pieces work “double duty” – Circle from burner layer can be used for center of clock; knob circles are also cookies. The door handle layer is also used as a utensil rack; the door handle base is also used as the decorative piece above the clock. Glue acetate behind Light Teal top door; add handles. Glue doors onto Dark Teal layer: make sure doors can open. Add strip with knobs. Die cut sentiment on Light Gray front over layer as shown. Glue black strips behind the die cut sentiments to “color in” letters. Add baking racks. Glue Dark Teal layer onto Light Gray layer. Make sure not to glue down the doors! Option: Add a small circle right above the doors to act as a tab to keep the doors closed but still easy enough to open. Fold 3D Vignette pieces on perforations and apply adhesive or red line tape to the folded tabs. Attach one side of Vignette piece to back layer of oven. Place 3 interior layers into slots. Repeat with Vignette piece on other side. This 3D Vignette is a little different! It has a top layer (range top); glue 4 burners to the range top. Fold tabs. Glue the smaller tab to the back of the front oven layer so it is even with the top edge. Let dry. Attach front of oven to the front of the 3D vignette assembled piece. Think of this as a box, with the range as the box top. The larger tab piece will just slide in front of the back layer. Open the back layer and it can flatten for mailing (padded envelope recommended). Add cookie tray and cookies and one oven mitt to the range top. Glue utensil rack, utensils and other mitt to both sides of the 3D Vignette. Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing another card I've made with this month's die from the Spellbinders APG die of the month club. The previous project was a vintage typewriter card, today's card is also retro but more the 50's/60's style. Becca Feeken's amazing die set, the pop up 3D vignette typewriter has 14 elements. You can watch a video by Becca on how to assemble all the pieces here. My typewriter is mint with white, silver and pink. I placed the 3D typewriter on black and white checkered paper. This time I did not used the sentiments that came with the set but I made the three sentiments in word using a retro font and printed them out on pink cardstock. I do like the mint colored typewriter. More inspiration: http://www.amazingpapergrace.com/blog/ https://spellbindersblog.com/ All Spellbinders club kits at: Spellbinders Thanks for stopping by!! Hello, crafty friends! Hope you are doing well and staying safe! I have a card to share today featuring the Spellbinders & Amazing Paper Grace August 2021 Die of the Month Set. This month's "Lattice Petal Foldover" Set is perfect for making gorgeous cards, gift boxes, note-card sets, and more in no time! This die set features 14 dies. I have a couple of projects to share today featuring the Lattice Petal Foldover Set. The latticework is truly gorgeous and I loved creating with the different elements included in the die set. Becca's die designs are always so ingenious and this is yet another remarkable die set to have in your stash. I truly can't have enough of it! My first project is a Shaped Card created using the foldover outline die, foldover inserts, and the inner square die with rim, and the filigree corners from the Lattice Petal Foldover Set. I didn't have to do much to create this card because the dies all the work for me. To begin, I die cut Metallic Ivory Cardstock using the foldover outline die in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set using my Spellbinders Platinum 6" Machine. Next, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the foldover outline die and used the partial die-cutting technique to create a hinged card base. If you don't know how to create one, you can check out Becca Feeken's tutorial HERE where she demonstrates how to create it in a lucid manner. Once my card base was die cut, scored, and folded, I adhered the foldover insert dies to the wings of the outline die cut with removable tape and ran it through my die cut machine to die cut the intricate lattice framework. Next, I die cut the filigree corner die four times out of Gold Mirror Cardstock to tuck in beneath the square motif die cut. Then, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the inner square die to create the centerpiece for my card. Once that was done, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the smallest square piece included in the die set for my sentiment piece. I stamped my sentiment in the centre of the die cut using Black Licorice ink and attached it to my panel using foam squares. Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock with the mini flower and leaf sprig dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I coloured each of the floral die cut pieces using Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress inks and embossed them using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit by Susan's Garden. This is my go-to tool kit for flower shaping and embossing and I do recommend getting it if you are an avid flower maker or enthusiast. Once I had embossed the pieces, I added some pollens to the centres of the flowers for a realistic look. Similarly, the leaves were coloured using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. I shaped the tips of the leaves using the medium ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit. Then, to complete the floral bunch, I adhered a shaded mulberry flower, the coordinating filler flowers, die cut leaves, and a pink satin ribbon bow. I adhered the latticework die cut to my card base with foam adhesive. I then popped the square motif onto the card panel using foam adhesive. I simply love the delicate and lacey look of the die cuts! What do you think?! My next project is a handmade Gift Box with a set of two note-cards. This is the most darling thing ever! Becca's die designs are always very versatile and they lend themselves so well to a consortium of papercrafting projects! I used the dies included in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set to create the lid of the box. This box measures. 4.5 inches X 4.5 inches and is 2.25 inches deep. I trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to 9 X 9 inches and scored the paper on all four sides at 2.25 inches to create the lid for my box. Similarly, for the base, I trimmed a piece of Alabaster Cardstock to 8 3/4 inch X 8 3/4 inch and scored at 2.25 inches on all four sides. I adhered the flaps together using Red Liner Tape to create the base of the box. I then used the domed lattice arch die from the Lattice Petal Foldover Set to die cut an aperture in the centre of the lid of the box. I also die cut the arches from Gold Mirror Cardstock and slightly offset the two pieces to create the illusion of depth without an excessive amount of bulk. Once that was done, I scored, folded and adhered the flaps together to create the finished lid. I adhered a piece of pink satin ribbon in between the two domed lattice arch pieces to give it a more finished look. Next, I die cut Snowdrift Cardstock with the mini flower dies from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I coloured the centres of the die cut pieces using Picked Raspberry Distress ink and embossed them using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit by Susan's Garden. Once I had embossed the pieces, I added some pollens to the centres of the flowers. Similarly, the leaves were coloured using Twisted Citron Distress ink. I shaped the tips of the leaves using the small ball tip from the Ultimate Tool Kit. I arranged the flowers and leaves together to create a cluster and added them to the box using glue dots. Then, as the finishing touch, I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the corner filigree die and slightly offset the pieces to create the shadow layer. I die cut four set of corners to attach to all four sides of the box. Then, as the finishing touch, I adhered white pearls to the corner filigree pieces and domed lattice arch pieces. I also created a set of two note cards and a romantic little envelope to go with my box. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the foldover outline die to create the outline layer for the envelope. I then adhered the foldover insert dies to the wings of the outline die cut with removable tape and ran it through my die cut machine to die cut the intricate lattice framework. Once it was die cut, I scored and folded the flaps to create the finished envelope. I then trimmed a piece of Pink Sand Cardstock to size to fit inside the envelope. Next, I die cut Pink Foamiran using the mini flower die included in the set. I wanted to create a cluster of three roses, so I die cut the flower die thrice in my die cutting machine. I used a slotted quilling tool to roll the mini flowers and then adhered them to the envelope using a hot glue gun. The leaves and sprig from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies were die cut from paper and also adhered using a glue gun. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the fastener die from the set and offset the two pieces to make it all come together! The note-cards came together very quickly as well! I just used different colours on both of them for contrast and interest. I die cut Alabaster Cardstock and Gold Mirror Cardstock using the inner square frame die and offset the two pieces to create an illusion of depth. I then die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the smallest square die included in the set and stamped my sentiment on it using Black Licorice ink. Next, I die cut Pink Sand Cardstock using the flower die included in the Lattice Petal Foldover Set. I die cut the flower pieces thrice using my die cutting machine and used a slotted quilling tool to create the coiled roses. The coordinating flowers, leaves, and sprig pieces are from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies. I colored the mini flowers using alcohol markers and adhered them to my panel using liquid adhesive. The leaves were die cut from Limeade Splash Cardstock and adhered using liquid adhesive. To assemble, I matted the die cut background panel with layers of Pink Sand and Alabaster Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding card base made using Pink Sand Cardstock. I repeated the process for the other note-card as well, but simply changed the colour of the flowers from pink to blue. I also die cut the sentiment piece from Pink Sand Cardstock instead of Alabaster Cardstock and used a different sentiment on this card. I really love how they turned out! I would love to hear what you think of them! The Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month is available exclusively at Spellbinders Paper Arts during January 2021. Introducing 3D Vignette Mini Album Collection by Becca Feeken! I am so excited to be part of this NEW release by Amazing Paper Grace/Spellbinders! Becca so generously sent me a packet of dies to work up a mini album! Her instructions were to "use as many dies as you can, but be true to your own style"! How could I refuse that?!! To view the Amazing Paper Grace Team Blog Hop featuring the 3D Vignette Mini Album Collection, please click HERE. I created a 6 1/2" x 6" x 1 5/8" mini album using the lovely Graphic 45 Dreamland Collection. I know, the size is a little strange, but I needed to accommodate the dies, as I will explain below. {smile} But, the beauty of creating your own mini albums from scratch is that you can make them any size you wish! No one can tell you that your book size is "wrong"! I decorated the cover with this beautiful Grand Crested Tower die, cut from dark blue cardstock. I then layered the Double Halo Oval, cut from sliver glitter paper. The Double Halo Oval comes with a coordinating plain oval die (so handy!) which I used to cut out the image from the G45 paper. You have no idea how hard it is to find a matching oval die! Every time I cut out a decorative oval, I can never find a plain oval die to match! I love that the Double Halo Oval comes WITH the matching oval! That is attention to detail! I added a few of the Dreamland chipboard shapes and topped them with silver pearls. I looked through my ribbon stash and found this beautiful satin/sheer ribbon in the perfect shade of blue! (See, it is NOT hoarding, it is inventory for future projects!) I created the mini album to use the Universal Accordion Fold Spine, which means I have four pages (eight sides). Using this die to make the hinges was so EASY! My only adjustment from my "normal" way of making a mini was to make sure I have the spine piece cut to the correct size! I found the die cut hinges to be very sturdy and easy to add my pages. I have a little tutorial below to explain how I used the dies in place of my normal hinge pieces. I started out as I normally do, but cutting medium weight chipboard to size. I cut two pieces to 6 1/2" x 6 and one piece to 6 1/2" x 1 5/8". I wrapped the chipboard with dark blue cardstock, just as I normally do. (The cardstock needs to be 8 1/2" x 15 7/8".) I cut the Universal Accordion Fold Spine from dark blue cardstock using my crank die cut machine. (I use a Big Shot Plus.) For detailed instructions on folding the spine piece to make your hinges, view THIS TUTORIAL. It is SO EASY to fold and assemble! You will notice that the spine and hinge piece is shorter than my actual spine. The die cut piece is slightly taller than 5" while my spine is 6 1/2" tall. That is NOT an issue! It is perfectly fine to have that discrepancy! (The linked video shows you how to trim the die cut piece for a mini that is SHORTER than 5" as well! I attached a piece of dark blue cardstock (6 3/8" x 3 1/2") over my chipboard spine to reinforce the gutters. I then attached a piece of decorative paper over the spine area. I then attached the die cut spine and hinge mechanism to the spine of the mini album, making sure to line it up appropriately. I then assembled my mini album as always! Each of the inside pages is 6" x 5 1/2". I simply cut eight pieces of dark blue cardstock, and then attached one piece to the front of each hinge and one piece to the back, sandwiching the hinges in between. To decorate the spine of my album, I cut one of the decorative pieces from Decorative Edges and Spines out of ivory cardstock and attached it to the spine. I added a chipboard moon from the Dreamland Collection. Since my spine is taller than the spine cover die, I only used one of the decorative inserts. The spine cover is meant for albums that are approximately 4" tall, where my book is 6 1/2" tall. This is a photo of the Inside Front Cover and Page One. I created a pocket for the inside front cover, adding the same decorative spine insert as decor for the pocket! I cut the decorative panel from ivory cardstock, then matted it with dark blue cardstock. I added a square tag and a 6" x 4" journaling card to the pocket. The journaling card opens for space for photos or more journaling. I cut the large decorative oval from the Double Halo Oval set out of dark blue cardstock. I used the matching plain oval to cut a photo mat from ivory cardstock. The little silver swirl is from the Grand Crested Tower set, which I cut from silver glitter cardstock. Once I added the moon sticker, the swirl looks like clouds! Pages Two and Three. I used the Woven Trellis Side Pocket to create a pretty pocket on Page Two. I repeated the oval on Page Three, but flipped the colors. Another ivory square tag makes a nice photo mat and slips easily into the corner pocket. I added some gems to the pocket, bu they are hard to see in the photo. Pages Four and Five. I used the ovals from the Grand Crested Tower and the Double Halo Oval to cut photo mats from ivory cardstock. To create a jornaling spot for Page Five, I matted one of the Dreamland Ephemera and Journaling Cards. The accent piece from the Double Halo Oval set is perfect for making decorative corners on the pages! I cut these from the silver glitter cardstock. Pages Six and Seven. More pockets! I used the second decorative spine piece in the Decorative Edges and Spines set to cut a see through window in the pocket. A sticker adds just the right amount of decor! I created another 6" x 4" journaling card/photo mat for the pocket. Another pocket created with the Woven Trellis Side Pocket. I love how great the square tags work for this project! Page Eight and Inside Back Cover. I used the small die from the Double Halo Oval set to create a decor element on both pages. I cut the element for Page Eight from dark blue cardstock and attached it over an ephemera card. I cut the second oval from silver glitter cardstock and glued it to a chipboard shape to make a closure for the waterfall pages. There is a magnet to keep the waterfall closed. I created seven waterfall pages, each 3" x 4", the perfect size for the smaller ephemera cards! Some of the pages have decorative paper, some have plain cardstock, and some have the ephemera journaling cards. Perfect for photos and journaling! There is a cute journaling sticker hiding under the last page! I hope you enjoyed this project! I had such fun making it! I also created a matching card. To see that blog post, click HERE. Our July 2022 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month preview & tutorials are here! Designed by Becca Feeken from Amazing Paper Grace this “Tiara Trifold” die of the month will have you creating gorgeous layered projects in no time! Versatile, elegant, and timeless. This die set features 13 dies. Enjoy the step-by-step tutorial below as well as the video tutorial to get you started with this month’s kit. Make sure to show us what you create by tagging #AmazingPaperGraceClubKit & #SpellbindersClubKits on social media! Join the Club Instructions: Catch step-by-step instructions below. Click photos to enlarge: Step 1 3 panels can be cut to create a trifold from a 6 x 12″ piece of cardstock. Tape Tiara Insert into outline die. The trifold die has no cutting line on the left side and a perforated cutting line on the right. First Panel: Working from left to right, place die down so that the left edge of paper butts up against the inside edge of die while at the same time aligning the bottom of the physical die with the bottom of your panel. Second Panel: Align the left side so you can just see the perforated line: make sure the bottom edge is lined up with the bottom of the panel. Run through again. Third Panel: Align the left side so you can just make out the perforated lines on the left. The right side edge should be just over the right end of the panel (and will not cut it). Align bottom of die to panel. When done, you have a trifold. Step 2 Tape lattice insert into lattice outline. Cut out 3 times with White cardstock. Glue to each panel. Step 3 Cut out corner leaf stems 4x from Green cardstock. Cut out flower layers from various colors of Pink cardstock 4x and flower centers from White 4x. Use stylus to round out all flower layers from back; flip over and push in the center to make dimensional. Cup flower centers from front. Glue together, staggering petals with each layer. Step 4 Die cut Hello There 2x from Light Pink and Mirror Gold cardstock; glue together to create shadow with Gold layer. Stamp or heat emboss sentiment of choice on vellum and die cut with circle or shape of choice. Adhere to middle panel. Cut smaller vellum panel to write a note for third panel. Adhere flowers and leaves as shown. Optional but not shown: Create a closure for your trifold by adhering scored closure motif to right edge of trifold aligning card edge with score line. Glue left edge of oval down on panel one to correspond with decorative protrusion. These panels have so much versatility. Approximate Finished Project Measurement: Closed: 4.00 x 5.25 in I 10.2 x 13.3 cm Open Trifold: 12.00 x 5.25 in I 30.5 x 13.3 cm July 2022 APG Die of the Month – Video Tutorial Watch the video tutorial using this month’s kit below or on Youtube.
