As some of you may be aware I have a small group of ladies who meet up once a month for card classes. This month we made two cards and the first card was a side stepper card made with the flower patch bundle. It is one of my all time favourite cards that I have made. Here it is The second card was totally cased from Heidi Boos found on pinterest. I loved the simplicity of it. We usually make a card that is a little involved and then the second project is easier. I spent quite a bit of time in the art studio today ... makes me happy :) I made two cards that are completely different. I like so many styles of card, that I can't just make one - variety is the spice of life, right??!! :) The first card is for two challenges: SCS Sketch Challenge (SC399) and CASology #7 (Green). I'm a little obsessed with the white-on-white layering and having a hard time doing anything else :) I love the look of this style of card ... and paired up with two shades of green, it makes for a clean and fresh looking card. Hope you like. "Agapanthus in Green" Stamps: Agapanthus Long (Stampendous); En Francais and Pocket Silhouettes (SU!) Paper: Whisper White (SU!); Heavy white cardstock (Neenah) Ink: Kiwi Kiss (retired), Old Olive (SU!) Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), small oval punch, adhesives and dimensionals I cut two card fronts from the heavy white cardstock, layered them on top of each other, and ran them through the Big Shot, cutting out the smallest square. I put aside one layer and ran the other through again, this time centering the next larger square nestie over the cut-out. I adhered my two card fronts together with the smaller cut-out at the back. I inked the En Francais background stamp with Kiwi Kiss, stamped off once onto scrap paper, and then stamped onto a Whisper White card front. I inked the Agapanthus stamp with Old Olive and stamped on top of the background. I placed the stamped card front in behind the cut-out until I was happy with the placement, trimmed the stamped piece to approx. 3" square and then mounted it to a heavy white card base. I mounted the layered, cut-out card fronts on top, popping them up with dimensionals to add depth. I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink onto Whisper White cardstock, punched with the small oval and mounted onto the card front. I stamped the Agapanthus flowers on the inside panel for interest. ____________________ The second card is a fun scene I created using die-cuts and punches with just the sentiment stamped. This is for two more challenges: Color Throwdown (CTD206 - Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Tempting Turquoise) ... and ... SCS Way's To Use It Challenge (WT389 - head in the clouds). I did manage to use all four colors for the Color Throwdown ... you'll see that the pink is the teeny, tiny centers of the flowers. Hope you like. "You're Special" Stamp: Sentiment Sampler (Paper Smooches) Paper: Heavy White (Neenah); Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise polka-dot, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery (SU!) Ink: Early Espresso, Certainly Celery (SU!) Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Picket Fence die (Poppy Stamps), Puffy Clouds die (Memory Box), Olive Branch die (C.C. Designs); Nestabilities Label 10 die (Spellbinders), Mini sun punch (Punch Bunch), sponge, mini pink half-pearls, mat, stylus, glue, adhesives, and dimensionals Cut a card front from heavy white cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot, cutting out the three clouds (negative). Adhered the Tempting Turquoise polka-dot paper to the back of the card front. Die cut three of each size of Puffy Clouds from the heavy white cardstock. Used the Stampin' Write marker to add "stitches" around one of each size of cloud and then glued the same-sized layers together with the stitched cloud on top. Die cut three of the picket fences from heavy white cardstock and glued them together. Die cut two of the Olive Branches from Certainly Celery cardstock and wove them through the picket fence, adding small dabs of glue to secure. Punched out several mini suns from Cameo Coral cardstock and shaped them with my mat and stylus. Added a mini pink half pearl to the center of each blossom and glued onto the olive branch dies. Sponged a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Certainly Celery ink and then cut it out with the Labels 10 die (to create a "hill"). Stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink and then mounted all the dies into the card front, popping up the stitched clouds and picket fence with dimensionals to add depth. Mounted the card front onto a card base of heavy white cardstock. Added a strip of Tempting Turquoise polka-dot paper to the top of the inside panel (1 1/4" wide) and mounted one large "stitched" cloud die off to one side and slightly off the polka-dot paper.

Hi everyone, second last post in the series of cards for the Special Reason One Sheet Wonder. Cards 11 and 12 are covered in this post. Card 11 Cut a piece of A4 Basic Black cardstock in half lengthwise. This is then folded in half to create the card base. Cut a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock 9.5cm x 14.9cm. Adhere this to the card front making sure to leave a small Basic Black border either side, refer to the picture for placement. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 9cm x 14.9cm. Adhere this to the card front. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 7cm x 14.9cm and adhere this to the Whisper White piece. Cut 3 Basic Black decorative strips using the Flourish Thinlits. You will need to trim one end of two of the pieces and then cut the other piece into two small pieces. Adhere these to the card front making sure that the join will be hidden behind the Delightful Dijon horizontal strip. Cut a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock 2cm x 9.5cm. Adhere this to a piece of Basic Black cardstock 2.5cm x 9.5cm. Adhere this to the card front making sure that it covers the decorative strip join. Cut a Basic Black Stitched Shape circle using the 2 7/8" Circie in the set. Adhere a Lace Doily to this circle and then adhere the to the card front using dimensionals. Stamp and watercolour 1 large flower, 1 small flower and 3 large leaves. Cut these out using the Stylish Stems Framelits. Arrange these on the Lace Doily, refer to picture for placement. The small flower is raised on dimensionals in the centre of the large flower. Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark Ink, add White Embossing Powder and heat set. Punch this out using the Classic Label Punch. Adhere across the flower using dimensionals. For the inside cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 10cm x 14.3cm and adhere this in place. Cut a piece of Designer series paper 10cm x 2cm. Adhere this to a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 10cm x 2.5cm. Adhere this across the bottom of the Whisper White piece. Card 12 A5 piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock (this is A4 cut in half) folded in half to create the card base. Cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock 13.8cm x 9.5cm. Adhere to card front. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 13.3cm x 9cm. Put this through the Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing folder and then adhere to the card front. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 8.5cm x 5cm and adhere this to a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 9cm x 5.5cm. Adhere this to the card front, refer to picture for placement. Cut a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock at 2cm x 10.5cm and adhere this to a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 2.5cm x 10.5cm. Adhere this to the card front, refer to picture for placement. Stamp and watercolour 1 large flower, 1 small flower and 3 large leaves. Cut these out using the Stylish Stems Framelits. Arrange these on the card front along with some Basic Black Metallic Thread, refer to picture for placement. The small flower is raised on dimensionals in the centre of the large flower. Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark Ink, add White Embossing Powder and heat set. Punch this out using the Classic Label Punch. Adhere this to a piece of Burlap Ribbon and adhere this to the card front, refer to picture for placement. Add three Rhinestones to the Delighful Dijon strip to finish the card front. For the inside cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 10cm x 14.3cm and adhere this in place. Stamp and watercolour a small flower and 3 small leaves. Cut these out using the Stylish Stems Framelits. Arrange the flowers and leaves in the bottom right corner of the card inside. Stamp the sentiment using Basic Black Archival ink near the small flower arrangement You can get all the supplies you need for this project from me. Simple but stunning, follow the simple step by step photos to produce this version of an Eclipse card I started with a base card of 8" or 20cm. From Black card cut one piece 19.5cm x 19.5cm. From white card, cut one piece 19cm x 19cm. As the stamp used is a large one, I used a Stamping Platform for a perfect image. First, I took two Stitched Oval dies and placed them into position on the white card layer to see where I was going to place the stamp I gently placed the image on top of the dies and then closed the platform to pick up the stamp. I then removed the dies for now and inked up the image in black ink Using, in this case, Graphmaster marker pens, but any colouring pens of your choice, I coloured the image Picking out the green leaves first, and then choose a couple of favourite colours I have kept the colouring to a very simple effort, no shading, just colouring but if you prefer, you can go to town Place the Oval dies over the image and using Removable tape, tape in place and run through your die cutting machine Add dreis clear glue to back of the black card layer and stick to card front Take the die cut pieces out of your coloured layer and apply glue, including close to the aperture to ensure it all sticks down flat Take the oval frame and add foam pads to the back, I prefer a 'deeper' frame so I go round twice with the pads, adding the second row on top of the first like this Add a spot of glue to the pads and carefully line up the image before sticking down, this is how NOT to do it and this is HOW to do it Take the centre piece, choose a sentiment and I then popped it back into the Stamping Platform to make be sure the image was clear This then needs to be stuck in the centre. I have used a butterfly from John Next Door Large Butterfly set and coloured in the base butterfly with one of the colour markers I used for the flowers, just to coordinate I popped a pearl flower centre into the largest flower to finish Items used Mixed Bunch stamp set available here Presscuts Stitched Oval die set here Why not try another stamp or another shape die set Items used Bold Fiona Stamp set here Presscuts Stitched Squares die set here

Hello & welcome again, I have been playing with variations of the “blackout” technique. This technique involves dry embossing, then adding black ink to the embossed card. As well as the black ink, I have also used Pecan Pie ink (#161665) and White & Silver Embossing powders. Firstly I added colour to the Basic White card (#159228) using ink and Blending Brushes (#153611). The inks I used are Shaded Spruce (#147088), Azure Afternoon (#161663), Crushed Curry (#147087), Real Red (#147084) and Gorgeous Grape (#147099). Next I embossed the card with the Layered Florals Embossing Folder (#162935). When I dry embossed this card I wanted to use the de-embossed side, so when I put the card into the folder I had the coloured side facing to the back of the folder. For the first card, I wiped the Tuxedo Black Memento ink (#132708) over the card for the blackout effect. I then decided to wipe VersaMark (#102283) over the card, then add the Clear from the Wow! Basics Embossing Powder (#165679) and set this with the Heat Tool (#129056). This gave a nice shine to the card. I matted the card with Shy Shamrock card (#163793) and wrapped the Shy Shamrock Bordered Ribbon (#163787) around the card. The sentiment from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set (#163490) was stamped with Shy Shamrock ink (#163808). A Christmas Labels Die (#164100) was used to cut the sentiment and then attached with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108). For the 2nd card I used Pecan Pie ink and again Clear embossed it. The sentiment was cut with a Wild Ferns die (#162654). Bubble Bath card (#161727) was used to matt the card front and for the “banners” under the sentiment. A Nested Essentials Die (#161597) was used for the banners. For the 3rd card I heat embossed the card with Silver from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder (#165678). The sentiment is from the So Sincere stamp set (#162283), stamped with Crushed Curry ink (#147087) and cut with a Labelled With Love die (#163570). The Ribbon is the Silver from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo pack (#161633). Finally, for the 4th card I used White Embossing Powder from the Basics Powders. The ribbon is a retired Gorgeous Grape ribbon. The sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set (#163756), stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink and cut with a Christmas Labels die. The Gorgeous Grape card (#147011) was used to matt the card and for the label under the sentiment that was cut with a Something Fancy die (#160424). Cascading Card Tutorial Cascading card Cascading cards look stunning and complicated but are not that difficult to make.These special accordion folded cards have 2 interlocking panels which can spring apart and also collapse to fold flat! Cascading card This is a special card for my mum who loves flowers so added punchcraft and quilled flowers to the layers of my cascading card. Cascading card The white daisies were a gift from my blogger pal Jovita.The roses are punchcraft roses made using a 6 petal punch.The pink buds are quilled coils and the tiny roses are ribbon roses. Cascading card I made a 3 D decoupage posy of pansies for the front of my cascading card. Cascading card How to make a Cascading Card. I made this cascading card using a Card template which was so generously shared by Penny .Penny's original template is a gem but looks scary and complicated until you break it down to little steps! So just to make things easier, sharing some step by step instructions on how I made Susie Prendergast's Cascading Card. Materials Required to make a cascading card Card stock : 2 pieces measuring 5.5 x 12 inches - use fairly thick sturdy card if you want to add lots of embellishments like I did. Scoring tool- if you dont have one use a blunt knife or dry pen. Scale Pencil Scissors Make the Panels of your Cascading Card Cascading card tutorial Mark 3 inches down one side of the card stock as shown. Cut off the white triangle you get as shown in the cascading card template.Do this for the other piece of 5.5 x 12 inch card too to get the panels of your cascading card. Mark the Panels The Cascading card is just 2 accordion folded cards interlocked together by slots.To help you know where to make your slots you can mark both your panels as shown. If you are using a scale mark the midpoint of 2 sides of your panel as shown. Measure 2 3/4 inch on the taller side and 1 1/4 inch on the shorter side.Join with a pencil line. Cascading card tutorial I used a score pal as shown below to help quickly find the midpoint. I marked the short side and turned it 180 degree clockwise to mark the longer side's midpoint. Cascading card tutorial Your Cascading card panels are mirror images and shown below is how the panels will look marked. Cascading card template Score your panels at 4 inch intervals[ black lines]. If using a score pal score at 4 and 8 inch mark. Make the slots:If you use a score pal it is super easy to make your slots.Drop down score lines to meet the pencil line marked earlier. The slots will be at 2 , 6 and 10 inch marks as shown. Cascading card tutorial Cut out 1-2mm wide slots.Accordion fold your panels as shown. The folds are Valley- Mountain in the 1st panel and Mountain- Valley for the 2nd panel of your cascading card. Cascading card template Interlock the slots of your cascading card starting from the taller end.The slots fit so nicely together that no glue is required and your card will expand and collapse at will! Cascading Card Tutorial To allow easy movement of the accordion mechanism, I attached the 3 D paper tole flowers only to one panel on the front of my cascading card. Good Morning I am back today with another make from this weekends craft retreat. This one was a CASED card from one I saw by the talented Bronwyn Eastley and purchased her tutorial to make my own version. Bronwyn's tutorial was in inches but I was working with A4 for this card so I made mine in centimetres. I wanted to create a full garden of flowers and spent a lot of time at the Big Shot cutting out the little blighters! My ladies were seeing these flowers in their sleep after a day of working with them, luckily they loved the finished results! The Classic Label punch is a very handy piece of equipment to have for this card for the fencing as is the Hardwood background stamp. Once the ladies had got this card assembled they all loved it and I think most of them will struggle to give it away! The great thing about it is that is folds flat-ish to pop in an envelope!
