I'm taking a break from all the Halloween stuff for awhile with this post. I am now ready to share with you some of the deets on the Flamingle Birthday Party we had a couple of weeks ago for our darling Sophia! We started preparing for the actual party 4 days prior to the day. With our new extended yard and fence, the area outside was the perfect spot for the celebration. We considered all the possible scenarios, weather-wise and so we decided to set-up a tent (which was fantastic since it ended up raining that morning so we had to move everything inside this tent and luckily it all fit in it!) Hung gold glittered garlands all around and place these Flamingo decor on the posts Renting out a tent was our first option but with only a hundred dollar difference to buying one, we figured to just buy since I'm sure we'll be able to use this tent again for years to come! ;-) I also had a local photographer (Kassi Needling Photography), take the photos during the party, that way I could concentrate on the celebrant, guests and the fun of it all.I have lots of pictures, but I chose to share the ones that I think may be interesting to you guys and for anyone planning for a party. Ok, so let's start with the decorations! Pink and teal and some white I hung 30 inch balloons upside down and added old paper lanterns (used from Sophia's Baptism) from the tent ceiling. My husband just added lights just in case we end up being outside until evening (party started at 3 pm). We were able to fit 8 tables for guests including the cake table and buffet tables. Hanging balloons upside down makes sense to me since filling up these huge balloons with Helium would cost way too much, we have an air compressor of our own so filling them up was easy and FREE! I had more balloons in the pool too! My centerpiece had this sign from Pixel Perfection Party along with pink buckets & Flamingo table decor from the Dollar Store I also placed plastic flamingo yard sticks everywhere and also had a couple of Helium-filled balloons as well. Have to share this photo since the table centerpieces were supposed to have Helium-filled balloons on them but they arrived late for photos. :-( I brought out my Spring Wreath which I shared with HERE, and changed out the rabbit to flamingos! Now I want to share with you the Cake/Sweets Table! Pink Palooza here Birthday Banner is from Pixel Perfection Party as well. I blew up Sophia's pictures at Sam's (the best price for prints) and framed them in IKEA frames. Sweets ranged from M &Ms, cherry gum drops, Pink Candy Corn, Snowballs, Pink Wafers, Pink animal crackers, Hershey bars and Strawberry Macarrons - and oh, Pink Flamingo pops! Simple Ombre Teal cake from a local cake maker. I added all the things up top- the cute sign is from Merc & Jones via Etsy The cake was delish - Chocolate Raspberry! I wrote these signs for the guests to grab the goodies away! Goodies were stored in the Flamingo bags I made. You still remember the Flamingo bags I shared with you during my Flamingle Party prep HERE? Hope so. I had the Buffet Table set- up across the sweets table I was able to use the DIY Cherry Blossoms I shared with you last Spring I still have lots to share, but I don't want to "burn" your eyes with all this pink and all this information. I'll share with you the Ice Cream Station, Drink station, games & Gift table! Thank you for taking a peek at Sophia's 1st birthday and the overindulgence of an over-excited mom!!!! Have a Great Week! Here are some cute 1st Birthday "In the Night Garden" cupcakes we made for Arthur.
My kids had such a fun time playing the Jake and the Neverland Bingo I created, that I decided to create a Sophia the First inspired bingo game. I created three different card designs, and you can use bingo dabbers, scraps of paper or small candies like smarties or whatever you would like as markers. I designed a few different cards, and saved them two, to a 8 by 11" sheet of paper in drop box. Please let me know if you needed more options or had any issues with size or printing. And here are the printable cards. Just cut them all out, shuffle and call them one by one - and have the kids match the pictures to the card. You can Download them for Free here: Bingo Cards1, Bingo Cards2, Bingo Cards3, Printable Calling Cards Hope you have fun! And you can check out more Sofia the First Party Printables

I wanted to make theme related food but it's kind of hard to make food music related! I found one idea online-to make a keyboard using different colors sandwiches. But there were not any other ideas. There's also not many decorations out there for a music birthday unless you want just black and white or pop music icons. So I decided to go with bright colors for tableware. I did find some music confetti and my school has a die cut for a treble clef so I posted those around. Brian had some bulletin board music notes that I posted as well. Here is our menu: -White bread and cheese sandwiches, pumpernickel and cheese sandwiches made into a piano keyboard (plus lunchmeats and cheeses for sandwiches) -Fresh veggies laid out in a music note -Fresh fruit that Brian made into a music staff that wrote out the melody to "Down By the Station" -Bugles -Veggie Straws (drumsticks-I know it may be a stretch!) -Round pickles slices (titled "pickleos"-thanks Marcie for finding that idea for me!) -Music cakes Here's the centerpiece I made using party horns.
