I like this photo. I drove up via Castleton, not altogether sure if my little trooper would manage it. I could have left her in the car park at the bottom and walked up, but we'd done alright in the Welsh hills and I couldn't afford that much time to stop as I needed to be in Manchester for work that evening. Winnat's is a steep 1:5 (10%) gradient and my car is a 1.2L KA (loaded with me and all my luggage). The evidence above speaks for itself; I'm a very proud KA-momma. We may have had to do the last section in first gear and I'm sure we would have been passed by the cyclists I saw going up later but we made it and that's what counts. Quite impressive to get a shot with no one on the road too - I saw all manner of vehicles giving it a go in the short time I spent there. Scotland is one of my favourite places in the world which our 3 day road trip proved to me once again. We drove quite a few miles each day, making sure not to miss the most important places. We started our trip in Edinburgh, made our way to Cairngorms National Park, Inverness and arrived at Loch Ness when the sun was setting. On
