There are many things that I LOVE about Buenos Aires, but three things in particular stand out especially when I compare them to their counterparts at home.
A custom painting of your house is the perfect treat for yourself or makes a great housewarming or realtor gift. Have your own house painted from a photo. Style will be similar to that shown. I’ve been told my style is similar to Grandma Moses! Canvases are 1.5” thick so they can stand on a table or hang on a wall. The edge will be painted on a color from the image unless requested another color. Frame is not included. If you like a larger painting please message me and I will give you a price. Ordering instructions: 1. Please read your Etsy messages after ordering in case I have questions. 2. Attach a picture, preferably multiple views and specify your preferred view. 3. Note anything you want to ensure is pictured because the painting will not have every detail. Smaller sizes will have less detail. The painting shown of the beige and green cape cod is 11x14. The picture of the red brick rancher is 10x10. 4 note anything you want added or changes from the photo. For example the painting shown wanted a coral door. 5. Note anything you do not want pictured or you want de-emphasized. For example The painting shown did not include the tree branch which blocks the house view and it only shows a small portion of the garage to de-emphasize it. 6. I will send you a photo before I ship it and allow 24 hours for minor changes at that time. These are not returnable so please check carefully. 7. Note if you prefer that I do not sign the piece. &. Note if you’d like a specific color for the edge 9. Note if you’d like specific flowers/pots and the location. I know sometimes all your flowers aren’t in bloom at the time you take a picture so I’m happy to add them in! https://www.etsy.com/shop/SweepOfSand

Ok so…I know I haven’t posted much of anything lately. That’s because I’ve been working on a Pacing Guide to use this school year. I wanted to make it editable…
So, I've been busy getting my beginning of the year science units together. I start the year off in science the same way I start everything else off--by teaching routines and expectations! We start science on the very first day of school! Day 1: What is Science? I ask the kids what they think "science" is and I record their answers on a chart paper. Be prepared for some pretty funny answers! Then I read What is Science by Rebecca Kai Dotlich. I love this book--it is colorful and fun and really gets kids thinking about science and the world in general! Then, with their minds buzzing with possiblities, we add more ideas to our list. Then I introduce our science notebooks. I tell the kids that these are very special notebooks that will help us ask questions about science; make predictions; record observations and data about investigations; and explain their thinking about what they have learned. I hand out the Science Notebook Expectations and we go over them one by one. Then I show the kids how to glue the expectations in their notebooks--focusing on how to turn one page at a time and how to use glue appropriately...
