Want quick and easy cards for Christmas?? The new Snow Front stamp set is your friend! This lovely new set will be out on September 4th, and here in Australia it will cost $38 aud. Already I have used it to make a lot of lovely cards... and even though we dont "do" cold Christmas here in Australia, it can be used in so many ways! For example, you can see in the right hand side card above that I have created a scene with no snow or Christmas at all... just a lovely water scene, and you could use that card all year round! Having said that, I don't mind a little bit of Christmas winter in my cards (and when we are struggling through a stifling hot Summer I sure could do with a bit of cold inspiration!). After all, we still grew up with Christmas specials on television that featured snow and snowmen and all things Wintery. So its not completely foreign to us. But Im finding that by using the Snow Front stamp set in different ways I can cater to various needs, Winter or not. And Im sure my Michigan family wont mind either! Linda D

Stampin' Up! has released a few stamp sets of a similar genre ... Snow Front, Water Front, and My Meadow. I am not much of a "build a scene" person, when it comes to stamping, so I'd not yet used any of these stamp sets (despite owning two of them). I was a bit intimidated, and didn't know where to start. That was, until I saw these cards by Linda Dalke. I'm a visual learner, and Linda made me realise I didn't need to be scared to play with these stamps! Snow Front, despite its name, doesn't have to be used just for snowy scenes. The stamp set contains great mountain, tree and water images. In very little time I had created two panels that look like little watercolour paintings - and I love this technique! Starting with Stampin' Up!'s Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, I cut a piece in half; this way you can get two card fronts from one sheet. I stamped the mountains in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede ink, the trees and grass in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. Balmy Blue was used for the sky, and Pool Party for the river. After stamping all the "bits", I used a Water Painter to blur the edges, and blend it all. Here's the result of my first attempt: I applied Old Olive ink (directly from the inkpad) onto the inside of my Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder, then embossed a piece of Old Olive card. I love the extra depth that this application of ink gives to the embossing. To finish the card, I added some Ornate Garden ribbon, and one of the wooden In Good Taste Elements. Tomorrow I'll share the second card I created using this same technique. I love this stamp set from Stampin' Up! I used ink pads, markers, and aqua pens to create these cards. I also used Wink of Stella to add glimmer and definition. I also used a "grass" stamp from Art Impressions to add grass around the trees. I used a homemade cloud stencil and a sponge to create the sky on the first card. I used Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua pen on the speckle stamp in this set to create the stars. The birds are from Blue Knight stamps. Have a great day! And get inky! Judy Jackson
Good Morning! I’ve been having family visiting for the past few weeks, so I haven’t been posting as much. So I’m slowly getting back into the swing with this simple thank you card…
Today I am sharing one of the awesome cards we made at my May 2018 FMN class featuring the Waterfront stamp set. This set is perfect to create tranquil sceneries, whether it’s lakes lined with trees, tropical islands, or snow-covered forests. This really cool scene was inspired by one I saw created by Lisa Tedder. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to give it a try.
If you’re a regular visitor (and, if you are, thank you!), then you’ll know I’m a sucker for a woodland theme. My craft stash is bulging with woodland-themed products – and, with the new Autumn/Winter catalogue, my collection just got a whole lot bigger. The Nature’s Beauty stamp set was sure to end up on my list – and finding out that £2.50 from every sale goes to mental health charities in the UK was a bonus. This is one of the projects we made at Crafty Friday last week. Along with the stamp set, I used the new Beautiful Boughs Dies and the Woodland Embossing Folder. I stamped the fox first, then masked with a sticky note before stamping the foliage around him in Gray Granite. The stark white theme is enhanced with a splash of silver, which echoes the Gray Granite (my silver ink pad isn't due to arrive until today!) and really helps the Cajun Craze fox to stand out.
