May 29, 2016 I played around with the new Stampin’ Up Sitting Here stamp set this weekend. Oh, I just love photopolymer stamps- so crisp and clean and easy to stamp. I made a canopy of trees…
Today’s card is one that I made back in June when the stamp set, Sitting Here, was just released. Doesn’t the kitty look so relaxed sitting on the swing? I stamped the kitty and the pillows onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut them out. It gives a nice dimensional look to the card. The oval was […]
One of my customers, Judy, has been asking me to do a watercolor class with the stamp set, Sitting Here. She fell in love with it the minute she saw it in the annual catalog. Our schedules finally lined up and I had the class last Saturday. When I saw...
One of Stampin' Up!'s new stamp sets that demos were able to preorder is named Sitting Here, and it was the first one that I opened when my order arrived. Actually, I only pre-ordered two stamp sets, so my options were limited. ;-) Isn't that swing adorable? I don't know if people really hang a swing that size from a tree branch, but I borrowed the inspiration for this card from a creation by Angela Lovel that I spied on Pinterest. I liked that she used the tree image from In the Meadow to create the overhanging branches, and I also used the grass image from that set along the bottom of my stamped layer. Sitting Here has some really fun images to work with (some nice sentiments, too), including an assortment of pillows, and there's even a dog, cat, and bird! I thought I had stamped a bird on the swing on this card, but he must have been on a different card . . . one that I either mailed or misplaced. Or maybe he flew away.

I finally had a chance to play with one of the stamp sets from the new Stampin Up! catalog. I was so excited to see it in the pre-order because it was one of the ones I really wanted! We used to have a porch swing at our first house, and I spend many quiet mornings sitting on it sipping tea and reading. When I saw the stamp set, it reminded me of those wonderful mornings and made me wish I still had one. Hmm, maybe I will ask for one for my birthday. In the first one I just stamped and colored it with markers, fussy cutting the pillow. I used the grass and flower stamps from In the Meadow. I am entering it in the Make My Monday In the Garden and Dragonfly Dreams Summertime challenges. In the second one, I colored the stamp with a marker and stamped on watercolor paper. Using the dry brush technique, I pulled some of the color from the image. I really like the way it turned out, although the photo doesn't really show it well. Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment and tell me what you think. I love feedback!

Here is another card I made with a borrowed stamp set - Sitting Pretty - and combined it with a stamp set that I do own - Sitting Here. I think the bench looks a bit more comfy with some plump cushions! I coloured my cushions and the plant with Watercolour Pencils and a Blender Pen. I cut the bench die from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. Clean and simple, but kinda sweet. It is new catalog day! In honor of that, I have used a couple of the new stamp sets on this card along with a couple others. First, I added an image from Summer Silhouettes in the background and used Sweet Sugarplum (new In Color) ink. My flower layer is stamped with the Wild about Flowers stamp set using Garden Green and Sweet Sugarplum ink. The sentiment uses two different stamp sets that are in the new catalog - the "friend" comes from the Thoughtful Banners set and the "you will always make me smile" from the Sitting Here set. They are stamped with the new color Dapper Denim and punched out with the modern label punch. I added a few basic pearls and some Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon to complete the card. Supplies: Sitting Here, Wild about flowers, Thoughtful banners, Summer silhouettes Dapper Denim, Garden Green, Sweet Sugarplum ink Whisper White, Sweet Sugarplum card stock modern label punch ruched ribbon basic pearls
Wow! I can hardly believe I'm writing my 250th post already! I love creating cards and sharing them with you! I can't wait until I have 250 followers too. (hint, hint) :) Today I wanted to share with you another sneak peek of a brand new hostess set coming out June 1st called "Pun Intended". I love the antique tungsten light in the set. We are 90% done with our bathroom and I purchased a really cute vintage light fixture that has a tungsten light too. This was right up my alley! I had an idea with the "Sorry, I'm not too bright" sentiment and I'm pleased with how it turned out. The sketch came from Freshly Made Sketches - simple enough. :) I liked the symmetry of the black DSP on each side so I added a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine for the small grey strip. I chose to use ink colors from the Brights collection to offset the "not so bright" Smoky Slate bulb. I used the corner rounder to make the tag a little different and added some embossed strips of Smoky Slate to make the sentiment and light bulb stand out a little more. This is a really cute set and one that you can get with a qualifying hostess order/party starting June 1st. If you order $350 worth in June, you earn an extra $35 free!! Ask me how to earn a free catalog today! Blessings, Holly
