Call it a shrug. Call it a bolero. I call it a fabulous transition piece that is short and sweet, just like its name! With this newest addition to my wardrobe, I can wear all my sleeveless and tank top styles even as the temperature drops. My summer and fall midi dresses extend easily into the colder months with this modernized and extremely versatile accessory. And did I mention it’s so cozy, especially in the alpaca yarn used here! Plus, it is seamless and top-down. This shrug begins at the neckline with a little bit of ribbing. Increases are then worked at the front and back to resemble raglan seams. At the underarm, the front and back stitches are put on hold while the sleeves are knit down to the wrist, with a gathered cuff. Stitches are then picked up and knit along the front edges and joined with the back stitches for the bottom ribbed border. A small button loop is knit at finishing. Samples shown in Berroco Ultra Alpaca. Some suggested substitutes listed above. Share your projects on Instagram and tag us @sweaterbabe. The Summer Path Cardigan is a FREE crochet pattern by EvelynAndPeter! It's beginner friendly and includes sizes XS-5X and a video tutorial!
Brioche and Garter are a match made in heaven – and the combination offers endless possibilities. This sleeved shawl is a drapey shrug with extra long sleeves. The shrug is knit top-down like a shawl, starting at the center back, in two-color brioche and garter stitch with brioche sections at the back and fronts, large eyelet increases at the shoulders and one-color brioche sleeves. The pattern is named after the minty speckled foreground color, dyed by the awesome Layla Qing of Qing Fiber on a super soft merino/cashmere base. The sample shrug is knit with two different semisolid background colors (Color B) – minty blue and minty green – for a slight gradient effect. For an extra color pop, the i-cord BO is worked in a contrasting color, a super-bright neon orange by Hedgehog Fibres that picks up the orange speckles. The pattern has been updated with extended sizing and stitch-count tables in March 2020. #sizeinclusive Need help getting started? The video tutorial at www.sosu.at/shusui-shrug-en will show you how to cast on and set-up the shrug! Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) [6, 7, 8] to fit chest circumference of 81 (91, 102, 112, 122)[132, 142, 152] cm / 32 (36, 40, 44, 48)[52, 56, 60]“ Chose the size that corresponds to your chest circumference. If you are between sizes, go for the one that is closest in measurements to you, or chose the larger one for more ease, the smaller one for less ease. The garment has a lot of ease built in, only the sleeves are fitted to anchor the garment. Pictured in Size 3 (formerly size M). The former sizes S, M, L, and XL correspond to the new sizes 2, 3, 4, and 5. Yarn: 3 colors of fingering weight yarn: a lighter foreground color (A), a darker background color (B) and a contrasting color for the i-cord edge (C) Yardage: 1154 (1301, 1425, 1534, 1672)[1859, 1935, 2213] m / 1262 (1423, 1558, 1678, 1829)[2034, 2116, 2421] yds in total Color A: 588 (663, 726, 781, 852) [947, 985, 1127] m / 643 (725, 794, 854, 932) [1036, 1077, 1233] yds Color B: 529 (596, 653, 703, 766) [852, 887, 1014] m / 579 (652, 714, 769, 838) [932, 970, 1109] yds Color C: 37 (42, 46, 50, 54) [60, 63, 72] m / 40 (46, 50, 55, 59) [66, 69, 79] yds Shown in: Qing Fiber Super Soft Sock Shusui (A), La Bien Aimèe Merino Singles Sea Glass (B), Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles Skinny Dip (B) and Kid You Not (C) Gauge: 20 sts / 34 rows = 10 cm / 4” in garter stitch 16 sts / 20 rows = 10 cm / 4” in brioche stitch Measured after blocking. Gauge has an influence on the size of your finished piece and your yardage! Needles: US 6/4.0 mm circulars & DPNs for the sleeves (or size needed to obtain gauge and optimal drape) Notions: tapestry needle, 8 stitch markers, 1 split-ring stitch marker, crochet hook, stitch holder/waste yarn Patent und Kraus Rechts sind eine großartige Verbindung – mit schier endlosen Kombinationsmöglichkeiten!
