Outstanding ruby red sea glass bead necklace, made with beach found beads found over the space of years to create this unique necklace! Please note these beads are from a Victorian dump site and although they date back to the 1920s they are not frosted. They very much look like garnets! Very rare sea glass beads captured between sterling silver beads and then attached to an 18" sterling silver chain. The beads dangle free, just like little pearls. The beads were found on the shores of the Seaham and Kent / England coast on a Victorian dump site dating back to 1880-1920s and are now the center piece of this absolutely stunning necklace. The amberina ( orange ) bead has some frosting. This is a very unique picture i have created using rare pieces of small sea glass, sea shells, sea pottery and sea plastics. These have all been collected from Cornish beaches such as Marazion and Lelant, and are all beautiful in colour to make a rainbow. I have used the sea shells, sea glass, sea pottery and sea plastic to create a coastal circle, by using the different shapes and curves to create the right outline. I have created an ombre effect by blending each shade into the next. At the top you have deep reds blending into pinks, then whites turning into yellows, with oranges and browns following, greens, turquoises, purples and ending with cobalt blues. This piece is very rare as i have been beach combing for years now, and all of the unique pieces of sea glass, shells, pottery and plastic are included in this piece, You have rare pieces of sea glass including shades of purple, red, pink, yellow and cobalt blue being the most difficult shades to find. Created after decades or centuries of tumbling across craggy ocean floors, no two pieces of genuine sea glass are exactly alike. Since each piece is very literally unique, I can't help but think of sea glass as snowflakes of the salty seas! Indeed, finding five such well-matched pairs of genuine sea glass was akin to hitting the proverbial jackpot, although the reality is equal parts luck and diligence. I spend hours meticulously sorting my finds in a dogged pursuit of pieces that are not only the same color -- or shade thereof -- but also very similarly shaped and sized. Many would find my efforts a bit overzealous, but I am passionate about delivering only my very best work. We think sea glass is special and our customers are important, so each jewelry purchase comes in a hand-decorated box.
