Lots of strawberries today..............both real and stitched ones to enjoy............they are one of my favourite fruits for both eating and designing.............this little strawberry quilt was a real pleasure to make........... ..........it has cross stitched strawberries on some of the white squares, stitched using waste canvas which is very easy to do.............and on some of the other squares i have appliqued circles cut from some of my favourite strawberry print fabrics............ ............had to put the bunny in this picture :)................ ..............the strawberry quilt fits the little ikea bed, and i made a little pillow from aqua polka dot fabric with a cross stitched strawberry in the corner................. .............another bunny to model the little quilt for me...............this is little strawberry, of course........ .................she is back on the dresser again now that strawberry season is here once more..... ....................the little strawberry quilt is my project in the latest issue of crafts beautiful......here are some pretty pages from the magazine..........and you can visit the website here.................. ...............little fabric strawberries i made last year............. .............and some delicious real ones to eat today :)................in the picture below you can also see a sneak peek of my new applique quilt.....the progress has been rather held up waiting for some fabric to arrive but now it's here so i hope to be speeding on with it................... ...............some of you who are long time readers of my blog may remember the strawberry hearts quilt that i made many moons ago..................i love this quilt, it's still one of my most favourite ones.....and i decided a week or two ago that it should be the next one to have a quilt label made specially for it.................. .................i designed the chart and have begun stitching it in between lots of work projects and lots of crochet evenings..............i'll show you the finished label soon.................. ..................a posy fresh picked from the garden today............ three different kinds of rose (gorgeous scents), feverfew, sweet william and a sprig of nepeta...............we have a lot of strawberry jam jars here as we eat a lot of strawberry jam, on bagels, toast and scones............ it's lucky the jars are so collectable................. ..............now i'm going to water the flower pots, the beans and the sweet peas, then i'm going to do some crochet.............thank you for visiting my bit of blogland and for your sweet comments and emails..................wishing you a sunny week with lots of strawberries (if you like them) and plenty of happy crafty times too.................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxoooooooooooxxxxxxxxxxxx
Two things i have been loving this week....flowers and patchwork :)....well, i love them all the time of course but at the moment i am really indulging in both..........the evening star block above was one i found in my recent sewing room tidy up............ ..............it was left over from the ones i made for this quilt finished last year............ .............and with a few added border pieces i assembled a little cushion........... .............which i quilted by hand at the kitchen table with the doors open and the sounds and scents of the garden floating in............we have had a lot of wonderfully sunny weather lately, and although it has finally rained here we had a beautiful sunny may and start of june here in my little corner of the uk........... ..............this is the time of year when there are new flowers to pick every day.......... .............and the scent of roses is everywhere...........in the garden and of course in the house as i like to pick fresh posies every day and dot them around the rooms...........the magenta rose above is so sweet, just one flower can scent a room............. ..............i use lots of different containers including the china jugs i have collected all my life..... ..............i have always loved this pantry jug.....i'm not sure if it really was a pantry jug but it does seem like a vintage one so i like to imagine it on a pantry shelf of an old house long ago..... ...............so here is my little quilted evening star cushion and i am already very fond of this one as i do love red, white and blue things............ ................more garden flowers.....these cosmos are from the seedlings we grew this spring in the greenhouse :).... ..................this is my favourite rose.....the bush grows in a wild and rambly way near the potting shed and i must remember to take my annual picture of it in full flower soon............. ..................i picked out some red white and blue maybelle flowers for this picture.....still making these to add to the stack and one day i will make them all into something........... ..................below is a picture of the wisteria we planted a few years ago which is now twining itself among some of the rambling pink rose (with a little help from mr p) and it looks so pretty with the purply blue wisteria flowers and the pale pink roses against all the soft green leaves............... .................thank you so much for dropping in to my little bit of blogland everyone......it is always a pleasure to have your visits and i do enjoy your sweet comments and appreciate it when you take the time to leave them............wishing you all a wonderful crafty happy week.....back soon xxxxxxxxxxx

Hello dear blog friends......we are enjoying some beautiful autumn days at the moment.....there are still a few flowers to pick in the garden, the trees are turning gold and russet, the mornings are bright and chilly... ..........we have had some lovely walks and outings and i've been sewing with these gorgeous fabrics.....they are from the flea market mix collection for moda, designed by the talented artist cathe holden.... .........you might guess that i am very inspired by these and they chime in with my latest love of making my vintage charm quilts......love the vintage button prints and as you can see on my drawstring bag above i added some actual vintage buttons too....(the bag is a smaller version of the drawstring bag pattern in my etsy shop link in sidebar).... .........an outing to a local farm with my lovely daughter was a real highlight this week.....we walked in the muddy field choosing pumpkins and wheeling them back in a wheelbarrow...... .......the small ones are my favourites....and i got a white one and a green one.... ......it was an autumnal kind of day ......grey and atmospheric...... .........and here are some of the pumpkins at my cottage garden gate with my mini autumn quilt, newly finished...... .........and in the potting shed too........ .........with my new bag and some pretty little mushrooms from the garden..... .........below is a shot of molly peeking out of the window, with the autumn trees reflected rather spookily... ........loving this time of year with the last cottage garden flowers, the fruits and the colours of autumn...such a beautiful season..... ........thanks for dropping by to my little bit of bogland dear readers....and thank you so much for the comments you leave which i love to read.....wishing you a happy peaceful week ahead......stay safe and well lovelies.........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There's exciting news for fans of injectable fillers! The FDA recently approved a new filler called Bellafill. It's the first of its kind because it claims to safely last for five years when used to treat nasolabial folds (or smiles lines as we call them)—meaning you won't need to see your doctor every six to nine months for touch-ups like you do with other fillers. Another reason to pay attention to Bellafill: It's the only FDA-approved dermal filler to treat acne scars. The brand received approval based on its study that showed 87 percent of the 1,008 patients who received Bellafill treatments for their nasolabial folds retained the effects after five years. And while that study didn't pertain to acne scars, dermatologist Ruth Tedaldi, M.D., of Dermatology Partners in Wellesley, Mass., says, "The results from this nasolabial fold study provide strong supporting evidence of the long-term safety and expected long-term effectiveness profile that may be experienced by acne scar patients treated with Bellafill.
