Do your students struggle with knowing what sensory diet/self regulation strategies work for them? Do they know the strategies but not when to use them? This sensory diet planning resource will help improve ability to self regulate by experimenting with different strategies in 5 categories to ensure they are aware of what works best for their needs and when to use them. Implementing social emotional learning curriculums will be more successful when kids understand what strategies work for them and when to apply strategies them. This resource includes: 5 worksheets for kids to practice and identify tools/strategies that they can use to assist with self regulation Categories included are: Mouth tools, Movement tools, Heavy Work tools, Hand tools, and Breathing tools A chart to list all tools that work for them, as well as list when to use them Teacher guide These worksheets can be implemented during small group or individual lessons. Ideal for OT, SLP, social work, or psychology sessions. For some kids, doing one worksheet per session/week can be helpful. After reading and discussing the worksheet, kids can try strategies at home to see which work. Once they have tried them, they add them to the chart. For kids who have a difficult time determining when they need to use strategies, exploring and working on interoception may help. This resource is arranged with the B&W worksheets first, followed by the color version. At the end of the file you will find the charts to create the child's personalized sensory diet.
