Coco Jacket Knitting Pattern (English) Coco Jacket is a tight fitting jacket with a beautiful weaving pattern, where the stitches alternately lean towards the right or the left, which gives the work a special firmness. The jacket is worked from top down. It will be worked flat knitting with increases around the two shoulder seams, to shape the shoulder slope. Then there will be increases for the sleeve. The front, the sleeves and the back are worked with the same needle, with different frequencies of increases, which leaves the impression of an insert sleeve and the result is a very nice tight fitting, which goes well with the curves of the body. The body is worked straight down until the waist, and then there will be increases in the side seams, to make room for the hips. The sleeves are worked straight with a three-quarter lenght. The work is finished with cuff edgings on the lower side of the jacket and sleeves as well as around the neck. At the end there will be plackets worked in double knitting, where ends of yarn are weaved in to use them as fringes on both sides. Choice of size The model is designed without ease - small ease. That means that you need to choose a size that matches your chest measurement as closely as possible. If your chest measurement is 96 cm, you should choose a size M, with a chest circumference of 98 cm. If you are in between 2 sizes, I recommend choosing the bigger size. Size XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL) Fits chest measuring 80-86 (87-92) 94-98 (99-105) 106-114 (115-124) cm Chest circumference 86 (92) 98 (105) 114 (124) cm Length (measure in the middle of back) 52 (53) 54 (55) 56 (57) cm Knitting gauge 33 stitches • 32 rows of pattern with needle 4 = 10 • 10 cm Recommended needles 3 and 4 mm (40, 80-120 cm) Suggested materials 2 strands Lana Gatto Silk Mohair in Smuksaks colours (212m/25) Silk Mohair 250 (275) 325 (400) 475 (550) g 7 pairs of hook-and-eye-clasps Choice of colours The Jacket can be made in as many or few colours as you want. The amount of yarn is specified as if it was made with one colour. That way you can divide the amount of yarn with the number of colours you choose. The model on the picture has been made from 10 different colours from Smuksak: A4260, A4256, A4259, A4261, A4933, A4183, A4182, A4253, A4937, A4923

This is a crochet pattern for a beautiful, fitted, long sleeved cardigan. It uses subtle darting to shape to form and gently swoops in at the waist before skimming over the hips. The pattern includes variations for capped sleeves, cropped sleeves, or loose fit sleeves. It will also give instructions for increasing the length of the cardigan. I recommend using a smooth mercerised cotton yarn in DK/Light Worsted weight, to give a clear stitch definition. I have used Drops Muskat Egyptian Cotton and a 4mm hook. Gauge: 2" square = 9 dc x 5 rows. You may also work this pattern in other DK weight yarns for a different finish, eg. wool or acrylic yarn will make more of a woolly cardigan. You will need: DK weight yarn - approx. 600g/650g/700g/750g/800g/850g (based on 50g = 109yds) 4mm crochet hook 8 small buttons - 10-12mm in diameter Sewing needle and thread for buttons Yarn needle Scissors Optional - 6 stitch markers or scrap yarn

Magpie Fiber’s new Solstice yarn comes in so many stunning colors that I couldn’t choose just one! Sizes: 35.25 (37.5, 40, 42.5, 44.75) (47.25, 49.5, 54.5)”/ 89 (95.5, 101.5, 108, 113.5) (120, 125.5, 138.5) cm Based on finished circumference around hip and bust. Sample is worn with 3”/7.5cm of positive ease at bust. These soft, gorgeous hues are beautifully sophisticated and were inspired by shades of mesas and plateaus in the Southwest. Between color and fiber, the yarn was just perfect for a soft pullover with a delicate, feminine vibe to wear with a tank or tee underneath when there’s a little chill in the air. Desert Sunrise features intricate diamonds around the body, accented by a contrasting hem and cuff detail. Besides that, it boasts seamless construction, a lot of soothing stockinette and an easy, slouchy silhouette when worn. I found it to be a deeply satisfying knit. The classic shape and smooth stitches show off the subtle textured combination of silk, cotton, and merino that makes up this unique fiber. The sweater and sleeves are knit in the round, from the bottom up and joined. The raglan yoke is then worked seamlessly to the top, and a few short rows make up the neckline shaping. Dami has made up some lovely kit color combinations that can be found at www.magpiefibers.com Yardage by size: Sizes: 35.25(37.5,40,42.5,44.75)(47.25,49.5,54.5)”/ 89(95.5,101.5,108,113.5)(120,125.5,138.5)cm Based on finished circumference at hip and bust. Sample is worn with 3”/7.5cm of positive ease. I suggest picking a size that will allow 3-4”/7.5-10cm of ease, based on circumference around bust. Yardage: Main Color: 900(1050,1150,1200,1300)(1400,1500,1600) yds/ 825(960,1055,1100,1190)(1280,1375,1465) yds. Last size MAY get away with 5 skeins of MC, but I’ve estimated w padding. Accent Colors: 200 yards/182m of Accent Color 1 (use a strong contrast to the body color, so diamond detail will show). You’ll need about 50 yards/45m of Accent Color 2. Shown in Alloy (MC) Harpoon (AC1) and Tenderness (AC2) Note, the yarn is listed on Rav as a DK weight, but it’s a nice, round fiber that I found knit beautifully at worsted gauge - Gauge for this sweater is 5sts/7rows per 1”

The playful texture of the senecio plant - also known as string of pearls - was the inspiration behind this design. Similarly to how tender strands of senecio become thinner as they descend from the center of the plant, the embellishment of nupps changes to more and more subtle from the top to the bottom of the yoke until it dissolves completely in the gentle ribbing. Senecio is worked from the top down seamlessly with the round yoke. The neck is shaped with short rows. This design features slipped and twisted stitches, small biased stripes, Japanese wrapped stitches and two kinds of nupps. The main stitch pattern is easy to memorize and entertaining to knit. I finished this sweater on Inauguration Day, January 21, 2009. Since it is also my first published design, I named it the “Inaugural Sweater”. It is knit seamlessly from the top-down with raglan shaping, and is meant to be worn with 0-1” of negative ease at the bust and 2”-3” of negative ease at the hips (this is to allow the garment to “open up” at the hips in a bit of an A-line fashion). Knitters wishing to have more ease at the hips can simply omit many (or all) of the decrease rows below the waist. The size range is limited (it’s an older design, while my recent sweater patterns are size inclusive, I haven’t had time to rewrite this one), but if you’d like some help making a larger size, come see us in the Lyrical Knits Group for advice, suggestions, and help. Change in needle size recommendation: When I first knit Inaugural, I was having trouble with my hands (thankfully, it was not carpal tunnel!) and was knitting very, very loosely, and needed to use a much smaller needle. Since then, my hands have improved significantly, and while I’m by no means a tight knitter, I reach for a size 6 (4 mm) needle when working with Malabrigo Worsted. I have amended the pattern recommend a size 6 (4 mm) needle, but please use whatever needle that you need to reach the proper (blocked) gauge.
