Hi everyone thought I would drop in today to share some of my other Kitsch creations I made for Craftwork Cards for a recent Create and Craft show! The papers are a little Cath Kidstonesque I think and I was inspired to make this little apron card (and yes I do own a Cath Kidston apron - had it for many years and still love it!) This would be a great card to send to a friend who likes to bake! Now drawing I'm soooo not very good at.... but I was quite pleased with how my spoon, whisk and oven glove came out - LOL!! Now my next offering is a very CAS (clean and simple) man's birthday card The other half of the Kitsch collection is this lovely pink and blue colour pallet - here are some cards I made just for myself (in fact they have been whisked away by my lovely friend Elaine who sells them for me where she works!) How cute is the scottie dog - he comes in the kit already die cut! Hi there I haven't done any Mojo Monday Sketches for a while, so when I saw Sketch 168 I took the opportunity to create this Christmas card. Hello Peeps !!! Happy Saturday !!! I got this set recently as my Free Sale-a-bration and finally got the chance to finish them. These are 4 x 4 cards that I did for my etsy. I used different colored squares for my background panels and embellished them with red eyelets and tafetta ribbons. The main images were stamped, embossed and colored with markers. Hello again! As promised, I'm back with my favorite cards from July through December 2011. Oddly enough, 4 of the 6 are Christmas cards and 3 of the 6 use the Ornament Punch. Hmmm! One would think my Christmas cards would have went out on time since I started them so early this year. HaHa! :) For more info about each card, you can click on the link above each photo to get to the original post. Here we go... July - Christmas in July It's not a big secret that I love lots of layers on my cards...and of course, sparkle. It was fun to create a holiday card when it was 105 degrees in South Texas in July, too. August - Corduroy Pumpkins Two of my favorite things...the Button Buddies stamp set and Corduroy Buttons (retired). A friend who received one of these cards told me she framed it to put out every year in her home for Thanksgiving. That totally made my day! September - Wicked Little Owl This little owl card was so much fun to make! Actually, I liked this card so much, I never sent it out. The treat bag with the bitty face just makes me smile. :) This card also made it into the "took-over-3-hours-to-make-club" because I kept adding more and more to it. October - Tri-Fold Shutter Holiday This fold always intimidated me, but was really pretty easy to make. I also seemed to be sponging ink on EVERY edge of my cards for a few months this year. Isn't it funny how you get into using a technique and it becomes your "thing" for a while? November - Mocha Morning Christmas I really wanted to try to make a Christmas card with very non-traditional colors and I loved how this one came out. This Mocha Morning DSP is GORGEOUS!! The sketch (designed by Lesley from the Paper Players) is one of my favorites, also. December - Snow Swirled Christmas The Snow Swirled stamp set has seen a LOT of ink in my stamp studio. There is something about the way that tree looks embossed. This was for Ann's CAS color challenge over at the Paper Players. I really learned to like CAS cards over the past year...although I still tend to use a lot of layers on them. Well there you have it! I guess it's time to get crackin' on some new creations for 2012. Today's card showcases some watercolouring using Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Markers, Blender Pens and a lovely new stamp in the 2012/2013 Annual Catalogue called Pleasant Poppies. I got to stamp one of these images at a team stamping get together last week, and I am so glad I did as it'such a lovely stamp to colour. I used to be a bit scared of watercolouring, but then I used our fabulous quality watercolour paper and realised what a difference that made. Check out THIS POST from yesterday and to bring you up to speed we've released 2 new Bow Dies. These dies are available in 2 sizes. Each die cuts three pieces (bow, tail and knot); and when assembled make the CUTEST bows AND they feature our signature stitching detail for just a little extra fun. The Small Bow Die cuts a perfect sized bow for tags, smaller projects and even accessories while the Large Bow Die creates a bow that is the perfect topped for an A2 sized card or even gift wrap. Have a look... Here is a project I made to share with you today featuring the Small Bow Die. This is an A2 sized card so you can really visualize the difference in size between yesterday's bow and today's! (There's a little sneaky peek of our new Texture Plate Collection: Frame 1 which we'll be showcasing tomorrow!) I cut and assembled this cute little pink bow and I was very inspired to make a baby card. (The sentiment is also from a set we're releasing this week.) Isn't the bow a terrific embellishment for a sweet baby card? These dies have been really hard to put down and judging by your response to them and how fast they are flying out of here YOU won't be able to put them down either! While I happen to think they are SO SIMPLE to put together I created a photo tutorial for you so you can see for yourselves and then have a reference when they arrive in your home. When I went to the Glitter Pot Christmas demo weekend I saw a lovely black and white Christmas card that Jackie Huckstepp had made. It made me want to make some black and white Christmas cards myself! I know they're probably not everyone's cup of tea but I have a thing for black and white cards, I'm always drawn to them and I think it's a very elegant combo. I decided to use white card bases and not overdo the black. Some sparkle was absolutely essential of course! First up is this sparkly number using the SU! Patterned Pines set which is a retired USA hostess set. I love the images in this set, the patterned trees and gorgeous snowflake especially! I embossed a piece of white CS with a snowflake embossing folder, leaving a plain piece at the bottom for a sentiment. After stamping the trees I patted my VersaMark ink pad all over the panel, sprinkled Stamp 'n Bond powder on, heat set that to get it sticky, sprinkled on the glitter, patted it down with a piece of paper and gave it a quick blast with the heat gun to set the glitter. I attached the sparkly panel to the black mat with brads and popped it up over the embossed panel. I stamped the sentiment and before attaching the panel to the card front I wrapped some black swirly sheer ribbon around and tied it in a knot. Inside I glued a stamped and cut out tree. The tree image in the Patterned Pines set has three trees on the one stamp, I masked off two and just stamped the one I wanted for inside the card. I stamped a sentiment, added two poinsettia scrolls and stamped a snowflake on the envelope flap. The snowflake and poinsettia scroll are also stamps from the gorgeous Patterned Pines set. I stayed with a trio of trees for my next card but this time I've used die cuts rather than stamps. The trees were made with two sizes of dies from the Sizzix plain pennants Framelits die set. I've used patterned papers from the SU! Night and Day pack and I cut strips of black CS for tree trunks. Again I embossed my white panel with a snowflake folder and left a plain piece at the bottom for a sentiment. The trees are popped up. This card got black and white gingham ribbon tied in a bow and the sparkle comes from clear rhinestones. Inside the card I stamped a sentiment and some of those gorgeous snowflakes. As I did for the previous card, I stamped a snowflake on the envelope flap but I haven't included that in the photo. Supplies for glittered trees card: Stamps: SU!
