In previous posts, I've showed you how I recycle old blue jean pockets, etc. to use on scrapbook pages and canvas projects. Today I'm going to show you some flower pins that I created using denim from the leg of an old pair of jeans and some blingy buttons. They make fun and basically free accessories to brighten up a jacket; and they also make a great replacement as a bow on a gift or decoration on a gift bag, which the recipiant always loves! Here's a tutorial for the first flower: Begin by cutting a wavy circle of denim. The larger your circle is, the larger your flower will be: Spiral cut your wavy denim circle to look like this: Beginning with the center of your spiral, curl the spiral around itself to form a flower - hot gluing as you go to hold it all in place - and then fray the edges of your flower to add some "rustic charm". Cut a small circle from a piece of felt and hot glue it to the back of your flower. Hot glue a blingy button to the center of the flower, form leaves from some crinkly green seam ribbon and hot glue to the felt back. Attach a pin to the back of the felt and you're all set! Here's the finished flower attached to my favorite brown corduory jacket: Here are a couple of more scrap denim flowers that I made: The one shown above is simple two denim circles that have been layered and stitched together in the center. You'll then cut "petals" around the perimeter of the flower and fray the edges. Hot glue a CTMH paper flower and blingy button to create the center of your flower. Attach a felt circle and pin to the back - SUPER quick and easy!! (This particular flower makes a great decorative element on a card that can be removed and worn by the recipient!) And, last but not least, here's the final flower: To create this flower, I simply cut a 10" x 1" (approximately!) piece of frayed, scrap denim. By using a running stitch on one side, I gathered the denim strip into a circle and then stitched the inner edges together so that it would retain its shape. I cut 2 cream felt circles and cut "petals" into the felt pieces; stitching the felt flower to the center of the denim. I added a blingy button and a green crinkly ribbon leaf to the flower; then attached a felt circle and pin to the back - TA-DAH!! Another quick and easy flower pin! Wishing you a blessed day!

I love interactive projects especially mini albums. It's so much fun to go through an album and find surprises in it. Pull a tag, open a door or turn a wheel and find secrets under it. It takes the mini album to a whole different level. What if I told you you can achieve all that but with only ONE sheet of paper? You can! here's how... First let me say that I'm so happy I can share a Youtube video tutorial with you because it's really difficult to explain all the steps with actually seeing how they work. Start with a 12x12 cardstock. I used a black one and covered it later but you can use a patterned double sided cardstock and then you can skip the covering part. Score it on the 4" and 8" marks, turn it a quarter of a turn and score again. Continue according to the items: First cut along all the lines (that are not dotted) and then fold: A: fold top center to the right. apply adhesive to top and bottom edges of right square and attach to create a pocket. B: fold down. C: fold top left square down. Apply adhesive to right and bottom edges of center left square and attach to create a pocket. fold under center square. D: fold to the right. E: fold bottom right square to the left. F: fold edge of square to the right on 1" mark. apply adhesive to flaps to create two pockets. G: fold bottom left square to the right. Fold up to close. Add tags and inserts to the pockets and embellish. Create strips of paper to hold some of the tags. The steps are a little confusing to explain in words and it'll be so much easier to watch the video. I hope you'll join in the fun and try this project. Hi friends! Can you believe it's already time for a new Mojo Monday sketch? Time is flying! As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on November 1, 2020. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. Today's card is a rare no-stamping card for me. I can't remember the last time I made a card without at least some stamping. But this was an early morning creation where I was trying to be super quiet and not wake the boys, so I just pulled out a paper pad and the coordinating ephemera and got to layering. The Prima Pumpkin and Spice collection was a don't even think about it, just add to cart purchase for me. I love fall, I love Prima, and I love shabby chic. But since most of my design teams moved into Christmas in September, this poor paper pad has just been sitting on the shelf unused! Determined to use it, I picked a few papers, cut them to size, matted with white cardstock and then distressed the edges. I then chose some of the coordinating ephemera pieces to layer behind the focal panel, distressing the edges a bit as well and adding a few stickles accents. Then It was just a matter of gluing it all together, adding a seam binding bow and voila... a no stamping card is born. Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you create! Hello friends!! Today I am sharing these adorable Doggie Gift Card Holders. Many of you know that my hubby is a Vet and I thought these would be perfect for his dog lovin' employees! Gift cards are the way to go on so many occasions so why not spruce them up with these cuties?! The file is from Digi Playground and is called Schnauzer Hug Gift Card Holder. I have a couple schnauzer lovin' pals but I thought I would also use this same file to make a couple other breeds as well. Just by placing the nose higher and snipping the eyebrows you can get different terrier looks. Here is what they look like opened up and the bottom has a pocket for the gift card. I also snipped the semi circle with my circle punch for easier access to the gift card. The pocket folds up and there are slits for the paws to stick into. Here is the schnauzer.... I added some accents using my gelly roll pen and finished the eyes off with some glossy accents for a nice popped up shiny look. I cut his collar and heart out with red foil card stock and popped it up with 2 layers of foam tape. I inked around the layers with my distress inks to add some dimension. He looks kind of like an Airedale pup. I stamped this sentiment and paw from the Pretty Cute Stamp set called Fur Baby. This little cutie kinda looks like my white fluffy dog Minnie.
