Coucou, Pour cette rentrée dans la rubrique "Scrap en herbe" de KLM Scrap, je propose à nos chers petits loups de réaliser la même converse que celle réalisée ici, mais en version simplifiée, adaptée aux enfants. Ils pourront ainsi créer un bel écrin pour leurs gourmandises à déguster au goûter ou à offrir, à adapter au gré de leurs envies !!! Il s'agit d'un projet imaginé par Sophie et je vous invite à télécharger son tuto afin de récupérer les gabarits des converses qu'il vous faudra découper sur son tutoriel. Fournitures : 1 papier blanc (cardstock), 1 papier à motif, 1 morceau de papier noir (25 cm * 5 cm), 1 ruban blanc de 20 cm 1) Le premier gabarit est à découper dans du papier blanc épais (cardstock), ainsi que le rabat forme arrondie. Marquez les plis avec un plioir ou une règle. 2) Prendre la deuxième forme et la découper 2 fois dans du papier à motifs de votre choix. Une première découpe pour l’intérieur et une seconde pour l’extérieur. Coller les découpes sur le gabarit blanc précédemment découpé. Découper les bandes dans du papier noir (style cardstock). Les coller comme la photo. 3) Faire idem sur le rabat extérieur et couper la partie du haut. Idem mettre les bandes noires et les coller. A l’intérieur, repérer l’emplacement où le rabat recouvert de papier à motifs doit être collé, en le calant sur la partie extérieure et faites une petite marque afin de noter l'emplacement avant de le coller. Le rabat doit recouvrir le dessus, bien droit. 4) Collez le rabat + Sur la partie extérieure, dessiner 2 oeillets sur le bas de la chaussure. Sur le rabat du dessus faire 4 petits trous ou poser 4 oeillets et 2 sur celui du dessous pour faire passer les faux lacets. Passez un ruban blanc dans les 4 premiers trous et un second dans les 2 autres pour simuler les lacets. J'ai mis du Scotch pour arrêter les rubans, sans que cela ne se voit. Faire des fausses coutures au stylo feutre. 5) Découper l’étoile et la coller sur le rabat. Vous pouvez aussi mettre du Scotch 3D pour apporter du relief, et faite la même chose avec la petite étoile. Ajouter des bonbons dans un petit sachet sous le rabat. Et voilou, une jolie présentation pour les gourmandises de vos loulous, à réaliser avec eux !!! I had several requests to post a tutorial for my Graphic 45 Pencil Bound ABC Primer Mini Album, so here it is! you will need some drink coasters or chipboard for a base Paper cut to size for both sides of coaster base pencil ruler measuring tape-fabric or plastic colorbox chalk tape scissors My First Ticondergoa Pencils-or any round object tacky glue Find out how much tape you will need with a about a half inch extra on both sides for attaching mine was 3 icnhes cut 21 (6 per page x 3 pages and 3 for the cover page) I find the center of my page and then measure out accordingly I make sure they are spaced evenly then I mark both side- i like to color it in to make it easier to see then i use one page as a template to do the others- at this pint I ink all of my edges with colorbox chalk. add a little tacky glue to each marked space- I use tacky glue doe to its good hold- tape adhesives do not seem to work as well-use them at your own risk! For your cover page you only need 3 tabs- i put and x on them to remind me glue only 3 tabs to your cover page stick em down! I use pencil to line them up perfectly then continue on to the other pages-i stack them as I go and use my pencil to make little adjustments as needed- set aside to dry then I bust out my Xyron creative station and line all of my cardstock pages. You can use tape runner for this instead lay it over the top of the tabs you just glued down trim any excess if needed Continue to do the rest of the pages-one side only!!-Covering the tabs you have already made TIP! I like to number my bases with my cardstock to match them up easier After you glued all of the sides with tabs, you will now want to glue down the other side of the tabs to the backs Double check to make sure you have sliding room, should fit loose enough to slide easily-to tight and your pages wont turn easily The nice thing about using a measuring tape is you know exactly where each tabs needs to be glued repeat for all of your pages. You should have 4 pages 3 with 6 tabs each one with 3 tabs- your cover Now take your cover Page A and place a top your second Page B I bend the tabs to make it easier to see- bend the three to the right (tabs 1,2,and 3) Start by going thorough the first tab of page B, then the first tab of page A -please note I mistakenly call page A, page B on this pic! sorry! keep going, alternating through page A and B got it right this time! and finally last tab of page A You should look like this now! Three empty tabs on page B Now place page C on top of page B and do the same thing, alternating through the tabs and again.... and that will leave your back page with the three tabs, just run the last pencil though all three tabs now you have this! take a piece of thin twine and weave it through the pencils tie it in a tight knot repeat on other side-dont worry if it goes all wonky, you can straighten it up as you go. if you like you can put a small dab of glue where the knot is, to seal the knot and make sure it is adhered to pencil-but a tight knot usually does the job my cover page Hope you will give it a try!

My niece will be starting kindergarten in the fall and I want to capture some memories about her elementary years as a gift for my sister. This is the first mini album that I have designed. All my other albums have been made following instructions and plans created by others. I did use some of what I learned in those other albums and incorporated them in this one. It was really fun to use my imagination and create something new! Very rewarding feeling to finish it!! I had originally planned to use my Cinch to bind the album but it turned out to be way too thick - 4" total. So I changed my plan and created a binding big enough using the Hidden Hinge Binding System created by Kathy Orta (you've got to check her out - she's a genius!). I ended up having to make one strip of page flanges from an 8.5X11 sheet of card stock and then use about 1/2 of another sheet to make more and then glue them together. I made my pages 1/8" apart and my flanges are all 3/8" tall. You can get 9 pages from one 8.5X11 sheet but I have 14 pages altogether. I wasn't sure it was going to work but in the end I'm happy with the result. The book did turn out larger than I ever thought it would but I don't think it looks too horribly strange. My covers and spine are made from heavy chipboard covered with Core'dinations card stock and then decorated with paper from the School Days collection from The Paper Studio (I used this same paper collection throughout the entire album). I cut out Sydney's name with my Cricut using the font from Paper Lace. I really like that font and it lends itself very well to using the weld feature. The pencil is actually cut from the cover of the paper collection. I don't think the pictures show it very well but the pencil is glittered as are several of the other papers from the collection. I used some American Crafts washi tape in a really cool plaid (reminds me of school uniforms) on the spine to give the bendable parts more strength. I also added some ribbon from my stash to keep it closed. The album contains two pages (front and back) for each grade - kindergarten through sixth. The first page of each grade is the same except for the grade I stamped in the corner so I didn't take pictures of all of the first pages. All the stamps I used in this album are from a really neat 7 Gypsies set. I picked it up at my local LSS on clearance several months ago but really had no idea what I was going to use it for. I did alter the stamp a bit by cutting off a section where you filled in the name of the child. I thought it was sort of silly to have that on there when the album itself has her name on it! The grade page is a bit smaller than the second page. I wanted to create a little bit of interest and make it obvious that the two pages went together. I made some tags and journaling cards for each grade that I slipped into pockets I created from coordinating paper. The journaling cards were stamped from the 7 Gypsies set and I matted them all on black card stock. On one side you can fill in the information and then the other side is available as a photo mat. One of the papers in the collection was a collage of all sorts of school related sayings and pictures. I cut one of each out and then backed them with black card stock to make them a little more stable. I used many of those to create little slider pockets for tags or pictures. You can see those on the back of the smaller grade page with a tag sticking out. I used some Paper Studio twine to add a little decorative touch to the tags. I figure the tags can be used for either pictures or journaling. I also created two large photo/journaling tags for each grade and those slip into pockets I created at the top of each page. I used my circle punches to create little tabs that stick out the top. I used the same paper on the tags as I did on the main pocket for each section. Here are all the pages so you can see the different paper combinations I used (kindergarten is shown above as the sample). I didn't use any of the papers for more than one grade and I kept the same color mixes the same within each grade. I really liked this paper collection because they all coordinated with black which made creating mats very easy! First Grade Second Grade Third Grade Fourth Grade Fifth Grade Sixth Grade Inside Front Cover Inside Back Cover I plan to fill the album full of things Sydney tells me about school. Unfortunately we live about 900 miles apart so I don't get to see her very much. I'm hoping that as she gets older her shyness on Skype will lessen. Although she does look really cute when she tucks her head and shrugs her shoulders when I ask her questions. I sure hope she and my sister like the little album when it's all finished! Dimensions: Overall album size - 7" tall x 5.75" across x 4.25" wide Pages - 6"x4" and 6"x5.5" Large tags - 3.25"x5.5" Small tags - cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More Cricut cartridge at 3" Journaling cards - 3.5"x 3.75" and 3" x 3.5" Constructed with Scor-tape (lots and lots of Scor-tape), ATG, Aleene's Quick Dry Glue, and Zig Two-Way adhesive. This thing was an adhesive monster! I probably used about $10 worth of adhesive on it!!
Happy July friends! Today we launch a new challenge at Mini Album Makers. There's a plethora of inspiration awaiting you on the MAM blog with loads of tutorials from our talented design team. We hope you will be inspired to play along for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Lindy's Stamp Gang. Today I'm sharing a fabric wrapped spine mini album, inspired by the stunning work of Tati Scrap. I picked up the Authentique Utopia 12x12 pad at my local Tuesday Morning (on the never ending hunt for fabulous Tim Holtz goods of course - he he). I also scooped up a wooden word set by Little Yellow Bicycle and used some Prima Flowers and the Tim Holtz Tropical die cut set to complete the work. Because we've been on vacation for two weeks: 1. I went a little more vibrant than usual and 2. I kept the pages simple with out many flaps and fuss. After all, that is what vacation is about - carefree living. :) Each spread has a mat for a 4x4" photo. The die cut Hibiscus flowers are all sponged with Distress Inks. The pineapple is by Spellbinders and the sunglasses is by Tutti Designs. To add lots of texture to the pages I layered two identical sizes of crumpled edge prints on each page. Now on to the assembly... First I cut my 5 signatures from watercolor paper to 7 x 10 3/8". I scored each one at 5" and 5 3/8" on the long side. I decorated the insides before proceeding. I love this method of assembly because I can work flat with the page designs, then build my book. It's especially helpful when adding brads and flaps because they can be hidden when the pages are glued together. I decided to add some batting to my covers to make then nice and thick and cushy. I cut the front and back cover to 5 1x8 x 7 1/4". I glued the covers to the batting, then cut off any excess. I wasn't sure if this would work well with paper wraps, but it did! :) Next I added a tiny bit of glue to the batting to make it stick to my paper wraps. I cut two of them to 6 3/4 x 8 3/4". I mitered the corners, making sure not to cut too close to the corner so the chipboard won't be seen when the paper is wrapped. I applied Red Line tape around my paper and then adhered it to my cover. (I sanded the corners lightly to make sure everything was smooth.) I added some brads so it would look like they are holding the fabric to the spine. I hammered them flat on the reverse side. Now, I wanted to have a pattern inside on my spine that would show when the fabric gave way. To do this, I glued my stack of signatures together in order. I glued the back of the first page to the second, etc. Next, I measured the width of the signatures. This was 2". So I cut another piece of chipboard 2 x 7 1/4" (the height of my covers). I cut a paper wrap to 3 1/2 x 8 3/4" and then adhered it to my chipboard. I liberally added glue to the signatures then glued them to the wrapped chipboard. Next, I cut a width of fabric. This fabric is a vintage table runner. I trimmed it and glued the edges in for a finished look. Then I glued it to the front and back of the white signature as shown. I left a little give way. Then I glued on my covers. I made sure to line up the inner spine with the covers on both sides. See! Isn't that neat? I used my awl to poke the corner of the fabric between the covers while the glue was wet so it didn't show. I would recommend using a heavyweight fabric and not quilter's cotton. Tati Scrap often adds grommets to the inner hard spine and then wraps chains and adds dangles to her spines, but since I made this a top opening book, that wouldn't work for me. I sure hope you've enjoyed this super sunny album and will try to make one of these on your own. Regardless of what you make, do get crafty and add a project to our current challenge. Hi friends, Stefanie Ried here with another mini album made with the beautiful Go the Scenic Route collection. But this time it is a mini mini :) It is really very small. More specifically, it's the size of the notepad clipboard sticker. I hadn't used this notepad icon before, and I finally got to use it! Fittingly, I have glued a pen sticker on the cover. First I cut narrow strips of paper in the width of the notepad sticker. The first I then glued to the back of the sticker. The album is opened at the front from the bottom. This way all the pages are glued together. This went quickly and so I could add many pages. After I created the blank pages, it was time to decorate. I added additional acetates or more papers to open up the sides. I spread all my leftover stickers and embellishments on the table and added some to the album. Additionally there are photos from the lockdown 2020 in the album. The spine is a gray board covered with paper. I have attached a thin elastic band to hold the album together.
