I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. Today's card is a rare no-stamping card for me. I can't remember the last time I made a card without at least some stamping. But this was an early morning creation where I was trying to be super quiet and not wake the boys, so I just pulled out a paper pad and the coordinating ephemera and got to layering. The Prima Pumpkin and Spice collection was a don't even think about it, just add to cart purchase for me. I love fall, I love Prima, and I love shabby chic. But since most of my design teams moved into Christmas in September, this poor paper pad has just been sitting on the shelf unused! Determined to use it, I picked a few papers, cut them to size, matted with white cardstock and then distressed the edges. I then chose some of the coordinating ephemera pieces to layer behind the focal panel, distressing the edges a bit as well and adding a few stickles accents. Then It was just a matter of gluing it all together, adding a seam binding bow and voila... a no stamping card is born. Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you create! I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. My card started with these beautiful papers from the By the Sea collection. I picked a few papers and cut into various scraps and laid them out until I was happy with the layout. I then cut out a white circle for my focal panel and stamped with sentiments from the Thoughtful Words set. Below that I used one of the stamps from the Texture Tiles 3 set for the water, stamped in navy and then lightly blended with the same color of ink. The rope image is from the Peace Be Still set and I colored with copics and hand trimmed, adding some crystal clear lacquer pen accents to add a little dimension to it. The anchor is a wood veneer piece from my stash, I lightly brushed a ground espresso oxide pad over it then embossed with clear embossing powder for a little more texture. Everything is glued together on an A2 size card base. Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you enjoy creating with this sketch! Thanks so much for stopping by! Please join me for Mojo Monday! Shiver, shiver, shiver!!! It's Monday and it's beyond cold with below zero wind chill factor here in VA and 4-8 inches of snow predicted to fall today! I know that's nothing compared to the northeastern part of the states, but I've become wimpy in my old age - lol! It's my regular day off, so I'm hunkered down at home...hoping I don't have to venture out for anything. Enough about weather. Julee has another great sketch for the Mojo Monday challenge and I went with some springtime colors even though it feels like it will never get here. I used Little Piggy ink on white and Beanstalk on Sour Apple CS for the flowers and leaves. Love these Pure Color inks by WPlus9 because they give a smoother and less mottled coverage than my SU pads which I normally use for colors. STAMPS: Be Blessed (Verve) - flower; Bloom and Grow (Verve) - leaves; sentiment is a freebie stamp with a Verve order. PAPER: Head Over Heels by Echo Park, Sour Apple by MFT, White (PTI). ACCESSORIES: Adhesive pearls; Fishtail Flags Die-Namics (MFT); Stitched square die by Lil Inker Designs; Petal Points and Elegant Leaves dies by Verve. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. For today's card, I wanted to pull together some pieces and parts that were in my stash of papers. I had already printed and colored this sweet little Cocoa's Leaf Digi, so pulled some papers from my scrap pile that had a similar color theme. I distresed the edges of each of the panels with antique linen and vintage photo distress oxide and added a bit of texture to the image panel with Copic markers. Next I created a background with distress oxide inks. I typically do my smooshing with whatever acetate packaging I have laying around. For this card, I happened to have some press 'n seal leftover on my desk from placing die cuts. I decided to try it out, since I had never used it for smooshing and discovered that I love it! {grin} It transferred the ink differently, with more spread out splatters and less blobs. I loved the control it gave me and happily just kept applying crackling campfire, cracked pistachio, and vintage photo to my heart's content! Such a fun surprise! I finished off with a bit more blending of the brown inks, then stamped the Autumn Blessings sentiment from Autumn Splendor in the corner. Alrighty, now it's your turn! I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. Today's sketch was inspired by this fun coffee loving creation I made with the NEW Grab the Unicorn set from The Cat's Pajamas. I never knew I needed a coffee drinking unicorn stamp until I saw this one! 😀 It's a seriously cute set and I couldn't wait to stamp with it! I colored the little unicorn and her aqua coffee cup with Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush markers and then fussy cut her out. I then selected a few papers that coordinated with the colors I had used and set about creating the layout. I had a really hard time getting it to show in the photo, but her little backdrop is stenciled black on black with the new Twist Stencilz and some black glitter paste. It looks positively magical in real life. I added a couple strips of satin ribbon for my diagonal strips, but you could easily use paper layers. Then for even more sparkle I added rhinestones in between the two strips. I finished off with a sweet sentiment from the set. Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you enjoy creating with this sketch! I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. I had to take a peek back to see if this sketch had been used before, and was surprised not to see it. The two crossed panels is kind of my go-to start to a card, especially with patterned paper. I typically use a circle as the focal point, but decided to switch to a square for a change. The stamps are from the new Summer Fruits set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I had a lot of fun coloring them with Copics, then playing around with some new to me papers from Echo Park It's actually a patriotic pad, but totally made me think of picnics and cherry picking, The sentiment is masked off to use just par and I added the missing you from the Rose Banner set above.
