Looking for a new fun fold to try? The freestanding Flying Seagull cards make a gorgeous display, and are easy to create! Six lovely cards.
Last Valentine's day I was still in a newborn fog, unsure what day it was. I certainly wasn't making any Valentine's. And while this year, I'm still figuring out all this mom stuff, I got my you-know-what together enough to make little Valentine's for Judes friends! (Let's be real, he's one, he doesn't have friends, its just my friends kids haha.) Anywho, if you didn't know, Jude is named after the Beatles song "Hey Jude". His dad is a huge Beatles fan and I'm a fan of somewhat unique names so, we landed on Jude. That being said, he has pretty much been forced into liking music. His first birthday party was Beatles theme, he has gotten every instrument as a gift, and these valentines were no exception. I wanted something that incorporated a vinyl record. I looked high and low, I was even willing to just buy an .SVG on Etsy, but I couldn't find anything I loved so... I did what every crafty mama does... I created my own! When I finished the design, I loved it so much I posted it to my Instagram, and everyone else seemed to love it too. I even got a comment from Justine Silva, Winner of season 2 of my favorite show, Making It!! I knew the only logical thing to do was to spread the love by sharing the file and that's what I'm here to do! So HERE is a link to the Cricut Design Space file. A couple of things to note, I didn't use Cricut fonts, so you may need to download the fonts I used to edit (they are KG Let Her Go and Better Together, both free fonts). Also, as the card is now, it says "Love, Jude". I'm sure you will want to change that, or just delete it all together if you prefer. And thats about it! Let me know if you have any questions, or trouble. I hope you enjoy this file! If you use it, I'd love to see it!

Topic 13: Time Hi Everyone, Leandra here to introduce a new topic on the PaperArtsy Blog: Time. When I first started getting into this craft caper over 20 years ago, stamps that involved clocks, cogs/ gears, timepieces were among my regular favourites. I love how this images work in numerous situations, and easily provide a focal point. Before we get into the nitty gritty, here is Darcy with the winner for our last challenge which of course was Stencils. Darcy here...Stencils are so versatile, and you have come up with some brilliant techniques over the past 3 weeks. Amazing results have been achieved by reversing the stencil, layering your stencils, bumping, and using the stencil shape to create a transfer. Your finished projects have been stunning, from tags to journal pages, collages with embellies and sunny scrapbook layouts. Sooooo, the winning name out of the hat for Topic 12: Stencils..is...Susan Carol from Faith Words,Faith Expressions Please email Darcy to claim your prize [email protected] It's Leandra back with you to explore Time. First up, here is a short video. As you can see from the video, here at PaperArtsy we have numerous 'time' themed stamps, some quirky, some vintage, and some in the middle. Cast your mind back to 7 days ago, and you may vaguely recollect there was a new Hot Pick with Clocks on it too! Remember this...? But what I forgot to show in the video were these reasonably new stamps from earlier in the year, also Hot Picks. HPXT06 (lots of months/ dates), HPXT07 (large months in various fonts), HPXT08 (days/ timewords). We also have a 'clocks' series in the Ink and the Dog Stamp series. These stamps are 1/2 A4, so that is A6 size, about 3.5" x 5", and are available unmounted or EZ Mounted. These are still some of my favourite images from the Ink and the Dog series. Or if you prefer something a bit more quirky...how about these from Squiggly Ink? Again, there are numbers that are useful on clock faces, but there are also build-a-birds with clocks for tummies! So there are all kinds of stamps, and also plenty of minis that fit these themes already available. So what might you make with these, or any other time-themed stamps you might have to hand? Well here are some interesting ideas for you to consider! Well you could do some simple stamping/ masking and colouring onto AB pages, a bit like the above samples. Maybe you might find some time-relevant words to use in a journal page? Or maybe you will do something very mixed-media style with layers and texture, like these ideas Or this, a submission to Cloth Paper Scissors ? What about some layering of elements for a book cover? Or perhaps a book? I love how the pages are burnt at the edges, this also infers the passing of time, or perhaps how precious and fragile time is? The egg timer and clock are instered into niches, that are also distressed. Really nice book! But this looks like a lot of thought and planning has gone into this wonderful canvas. If you have a load of embellishments lying about, perhaps you might gives something like this a go? More here. There are many more ideas on my Pinterest page . I'll be pinning more over the next 2 weeks while this topic is open. I hope you can find time to join in! Leandra Topic 13:Time You are welcome to share your ideas and link up your creativity to this page. All links go in the draw to win a voucher to spend on products of your choice from the PaperArtsy online store. Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! Sadly, this is my LAST post as part of the Heartfelt Creations Team. It was difficult to make the decision to leave the team when my term ended this month. I have loved creating with the Heartfelt product this past year! I have learned a lot about making my own flowers and embellishments! I hope you like my last offering! I wanted to try using the leaves from the Italiana Riviera Collection to create autumn leaves. The collection is purple and green, but I knew the leaves would look amazing in gold, yellow, and orange! Don't those leaves and flowers just scream fall?! Create a 5" x 6" top-fold card by trimming brown cardstock to 5" x 12" and scoring at 6" on the long side. Trim gold script and plaid print papers from the Classic Sunflower Paper Collection to 4 7/8" x 5 7/8" and distress edges. Sponge paper edges with vintage photo ink. Attach the gold script panel to the card front. Tear and crumple three corners of the plaid paper before attaching to the top of the gold script paper. Emboss ivory cardstock with the distressed stripes embossing folder and lightly sponge with vintage photo ink. Trim embossed cardstock to 4" x 5" and mat with brown cardstock cut to 4 1/8" x 5 1/8". Attach the embossed panel to the center of the card. Crumple the upper right and lower left corners. To create the fall leaves, select various colors of distress ink. Working in color families, swipe the ink onto a non-stick craft mat. Mist the ink with water and then blot the ink onto ivory cardstock by dragging the cardstock through the ink. Add more ink and water as necessary. Create sheets of paper with orange, red, and yellow hues. (I show a few purple papers here, which I did not use for this project.) Set the papers aside to dry. To keep the paper from curling, place it under some heavy books to dry. When the paper is completely dry, stamp the leaves and vines from the Italiana Grapevines Cling Stamp Set onto the colored cardstock with brown ink and cut them out with the Italiana Grapevines Die. Sponge the edges of the leaves with contrasting distress inks. Stamp the sentiment image from the Enchanted Dragonflies Cling Stamp Set with brown ink onto the colored cardstock. Use the matching die from the Enchanted Dragonflies Die set to cut out the sentiment. Stamp the Vintage Morning Background Cling Stamp Set onto ivory cardstock with dark brown ink. Color the flowers with vintage photo ink. Cut out the flowers with the Majestic Blooms Die. Arrange the sentiment, leaves, and flowers onto the card front. Place a dot of Glossy Accents into the center of each flower and add red gala glitz to the centers of the flowers. Decorate the inside of the card by trimming plaid Classic Sunflower paper to 4 7/8" x 5 7/8" and attaching it to the inside of the card. Trim gold Classic Sunflower paper to 4" x 5" and mat with ivory cardstock cut to 4 1/8" x 5 1/8". Attach the panel to the center of the card. Use left over leaves to create an embellishment on the top right corner of the panel. Add an ivory panel cut to 4 7/8" x 5 7/8" to the top of the inside of the card. Thanks for stopping by!
