This delightful trio of handmade cards and treat box features an enchanting underwater theme in soft Pool Party hues. The intricate die-cut elements, like coral branches and heartfelt sentiments, add a special touch to each design. By keeping the color scheme consistent and repeating key motifs, the cards work beautifully as a set while still maintaining their own unique charm. This lovely card showcases an underwater scene made with the Seaside Wishes stamp set and dies. The soft Pool Party background, embossed with the coordinating Embossing Folder, sets the stage for die-cut coral and seaweed in Pool Party and gold
Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is a neutral palette; whites, grays, ivorys, browns or black. I chose browns for this card - Basic Beige and Early Espresso. The floral image was stamped in Early Espresso on Basic Beige cardstock and "colored" with Clear Wink of Stella. The W.O.S. picked up the ink from the stamped image like using a Water Painter, adding subtle shimmer, as well. I love the circle dies in the Spotlight on Nature bundle! I think they're going to be used a lot in the near future. That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. It's Holly here with another Thursday Tutorial. Boy, do I have a tutorial for you today! Check out this Fantabulous Cascading Card made Dr Sonia from Cards, Crafts and Kid Projects Cascading card Since this blog is called Fatabulous Cricut, we do like to see things made by Cricut but when I saw this card I was like WOW! I let the Cricut part slide this time because I can make a cascading card for you using Cricut cuts but more importantly this Fantabulous designer is from India! I'm guessing Cricut accessories aren't as readily available in India as they are here in Northern America and it's not like she can run down to her neighborhood Michael's and JoAnn's right? Let's give her a pass since her tutorial is so great..... Materials Required to make a cascading card Card stock : 2 pieces measuring 5.5 x 12 inches - use fairly thick sturdy card if you want to add lots of embellishments like I did. Scoring tool- if you dont have one use a blunt knife or dry pen. Scale Pencil Scissors Make the Panels of your Cascading Card Cascading card tutorial Mark 3 inches down one side of the card stock as shown. Cut off the white triangle you get as shown in the cascading card template.Do this for the other piece of 5.5 x 12 inch card too to get the panels of your cascading card. Mark the Panels The Cascading card is just 2 accordion folded cards interlocked together by slots. To help you know where to make your slots you can mark both your panels as shown. If you are using a scale mark the midpoint of 2 sides of your panel as shown. Measure 2 3/4 inch on the taller side and 1 1/4 inch on the shorter side.Join with a pencil line. Cascading card tutorial I used a score pal as shown below to help quickly find the midpoint. I marked the short side and turned it 180 degree clockwise to mark the longer side's midpoint. Cascading card tutorial Your Cascading card panels are mirror images and shown below is how the panels will look marked. Cascading card template Score your panels at 4 inch intervals[ black lines]. If using a score pal score at 4 and 8 inch mark. Make the slots:If you use a score pal it is super easy to make your slots.Drop down score lines to meet the pencil line marked earlier. The slots will be at 2 , 6 and 10 inch marks as shown. Cascading card tutorial Cut out 1-2mm wide slots.Accordion fold your panels as shown. The folds are Valley- Mountain in the 1st panel and Mountain- Valley for the 2nd panel of your cascading card. Cascading card template Interlock the slots of your cascading card starting from the taller end.The slots fit so nicely together that no glue is required and your card will expand and collapse at will! Dr. Sonia has many more detailed photos on her blog which you can check out HERE. I gave Dr. Sonia's tutorial a try so here's what I came up with for my cascading card. If you remember my Thursday's post from last week I mentioned everyone was "sicky-poo" in my house so I made a "Get Well Bug" cascading card for us. My "Get Well Bugs" are cut from the Paisley cartridge and the stamped sentiments are from My Pink Stamper. You can check out more details about my card on my blog at Ribbons & Glue. I hope this cascading card inspires you to give Dr. Sonia's tutorial a try!

It resonated so strongly with me that I was inspired to create a class around it, and not just any class. Are you curious? In The Moment Day Away Class The images are all of a woman with curly hair. She is either drinking wine, reading a book or sipping a coffee looking out the window. Does that sound like me?? Not

Hello, and welcome to the last Crazy Crafters Blog hop for 2018, our special guest today is Meg Loven from the United States. Meg has been a demonstrator since 2002, and was ranked #10 in the US for the 2017 Stampin' Up! year, such an honour to be hopping with her today. I visited Megs Pinterest board, so many lovely projects to choose from, and eventually decided to CASE the below card - the shortened front panel with decorative edge caught my attention, I like doing something that is a little different to the norm! Here's what I created featuring the You're Inspiring stamp set from page 31 of the Occasions catalogue. The stamped image is stunning, the detail and fine lines is just amazing, I was like "wow" that is gorgeous when I stamped it! I stamped the larger flower image multiple times, using post it notes to mask so I didn't overlap images of the foliage. Them it was to the trusty Stampin' Blends for colouring, I love colouring, and blending colours to create shadows and shades is so much fun - I cant get enough of them! Rather than adding ribbon to the inner panel of the card, I chose to emboss a pattern with one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (Page 23 of the Occasions Catalogue), I'm really happy with this effect, and it's unlike a normal card. Grab a cuppa and take your time to hop all the way around our Crazy Crafters hop and see all the incredible creations, and if you have a chance please leave a comment, we love receiving comments! Hello and welcome! I have a Sizzix tutorial to share with you today, made with Tim Holtz new Frameworks dies. These dies are so fun and very versatile. I made an art journal page, but the technique works just as well on a card, tag or scrapbooking layout. I thought it would be fun to use the Frameworks die to get a mosaic look. A great base for that is Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Paste, which works both as adhesive and grout in this project. The Frameworks die that I used is the Honeycomb one, but you can get the same effect with any of the other Frameworks dies. I worked in my Small Creative Journal and smeared gesso with a palette knife. A piece of paper had been embossed in the Honeycomb embossing folder and I pressed it repeatedly into the gesso to make a soft textured pattern. You can also use the embossing folder itself, but then you have to clean it immediately. I also wanted the random gesso effect on the embossed paper. Leave to dry. Water down some Distress Paint and paint the page. Mist with water for even more texture. Leave to dry. Die cut Honeycomb Frameworks from different papers and materials. I used: natural sticky-back canvas, Mirrored Sheet, wood veneer paper, dictionary paper, the embossed honeycomb paper from earlier, Eclectic Elements Fabric which had been glued to cardstock and various Tim Holtz patterned papers. These are the inside pieces, I will use the frame pieces in a tutorial soon. Ink the edges. Ink the honeycomb embossed paper with Tumbled Glass and wipe off with a moist cloth. The random spots of gesso resist the ink. Smear Embossing Paste on your page in a medium thick layer. Start placing your honeycomb pieces into the paste, leaving the same space between all the pieces. The paste doesn't dry too quickly, so you have enough time. I made sure to vary the materials. Press the pieces down a bit to make the paste come up in between them. Continue until you have covered the paste. I left some paste uncovered because I thought it gave a cool look. Leave to dry. Cover all the paper pieces (not the mirrors, wood, canvas, fabric or embossed paper) with Glossy Accents. This gives a great glossy look to them and even more interest and variation to the mosaic pieces. Leave to dry. Ink the paste here and there with Gathered Twigs. I stamped the background with a few Tim Holtz stamps. Here you can see the honeycomb texture in the gesso. The sentiment was stamped on two Ribbon Flags. The stamp comes from a Darkroom Door set. I added rub-ons to some of the tiles. The combination of different surfaces in the tiles makes for a very interesting project. The mirror pieces look like real mirrors (they are hard to photograph). I just got Tim Holtz Bird Feather set and wanted to ink up this great bird stamp. It was inked with Broken China and Gathered Twigs, misted with water four or five times and stamped on watercolour paper. The little bird is a Hero Arts stamp and was stamped in the same way as the larger one. The title was die cut with the Vintage Market Sizzlits die. Thank you for looking! Have Fun Making a Tri-Fold Accordion Card With These Easy Steps with Lisa Curcio of Lisa's Stamp Studio in this YouTube Cardmaking Tutorial!
In this busy season I have completely been slacking on posting projects! I haven't even finished sharing the projects that we made at a private class a customer hosted a few weeks back! The class was held just a few days before the new annual catalog went live so it was hard to decide what to use on the class projects! I went with a mix of carryover items and new products. The new Thoughtful Journey designer series paper is gorgeous and I paired it with the carryover set Heartfelt Hexagons for a design that shows off the paper and lets the fun hexagon punch shine. The card base is Basic White thick, then a strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock topped with a strip of the Thoughtful Journey DSP. The sentiment is stamped in Boho Blue ink and then the frame is stamped in Misty Moonlight and punched out. A length of retired Boho Blue textured ribbon is adhered to the back and then adhered to the card front with dimensionals. A few 2024-2026 In Color shimmer gems are added to the side of the sentiment for a small bit of sparkle. This is a great design to use if you need to make multiples and any designer series paper would work. It's especially good for 6x6 paper because you get 3 panels for 3 card with just a small 1/2" x 6" strip of scrap. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Stamps: Heartfelt Hexagons Ink: Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight Paper: Basic White thick, Basic White, Misty Moonlight, Thoughtful Journey DSP Accessories: Heartfelt Hexagon punch, dimensionals, 2024-2026 In Color shimmer gems, Boho Blue textured ribbon (retired)

A Star Fold Card for almost any Occasion: To make this 6" card, you will need to start with a piece of paper measuring 12 X 12. Laying it on your mat you can easily find the center of one of the sides. Mark the 6" point and draw a line down the paper for about 2". Now you can draw a line from the corner left to the center line, making sure it is 12" long, do this again of the other side from right corner to center at 12" point. Now you can trim off the corners using your paper trimmer. Sometimes it helps to cut of the excess at the top of the triangle, also you can now erase your pencil line. You will now find the center of each side of the triangle. Using those lines you will now score from center point on one side to the center point on the other side. You will do this three times. When you have finished scoring it should look like the picture above. Now using the score lines you just finished place this score line on the 1 3/4" line on the trimmer and score a second line, do this on the other two sides. When all score lines are finished it should look like this. Now with the paper laying flat on the table top fold in all score lines nearest the center, and the second score line on all points should fold out . Points or triangles will interlock together. Here are a few more examples of this card worked up. I used two different paper packets for these projects both were from CTMH, Florentine was one and the other was Mayberry, also the color Blush was used for the last card. Thanks for visiting today......have a great crafting day....:-).....Joanie
