There is probably one thing that I tend to enjoy almost as much as spending time with my kids... and that is scrapping those moments that we spend together. When I scrapbook, I know that I am creating a layout that showcases a particular event or moment in time that will live in my family's hearts forever. It is very important to me that I capture the special moments to document, and equally important to me that they be showcased using the right products. One thing that I reach for time and time agin when I am scrapbooking is RIBBON. I will find the right ribbon, trim, lace or twine to accent my project before I ever even start. It is the perfect accent to everything and is so easy to use! When I saw this sketch by Melinda Spinks, there was no exception to my rule. I reached immediately for ribbon. Isn't it amazing!!!! Here is the layout that I created using some My Little shoebox goodies topped of with some RRR ribbons! Don't you just love those colors!!!! Now...I have noticed myself using a lot of pastel-y kind of colors lately. Crazy, I know...because I usually don't...but I am finding that I really like them! The coral and the pale yellow paired with the powder blue really makes my heart sing a happy song! And this photo make my heart dance! I love what I captured on film in this shot. (an up-close of the bow) Joe truly adores his little girl every bit as much as she adores her Daddy. It is evident in this one moment in time that was captured forever. (an upclose of the banner) Thank you all for stopping by to visit me today!!!! Have a Magnificent week!

There's a playfulness to the placement of the photos and the title that reflect the playful personality of the subject. It is always a challenge to fit many photos into a layout when "storytelling" in a scrapbook without making it appear overcrowded. Here, I chose to cluster the photos by threes to create continuity. The eye travels from the profile photo on the upper left and the whimsical title in a linear fashion, glancing at the photos three-by-three, until the eye rests on the cluster of the large head shot and the journaling on the right.

Perhaps some of you know this by now, if not - here's my confession: I'm not a fan of small forms... Which is an understatement really. ;) Somehow I don't feel I can spread my wings on small surfaces. Large canvases? Yes, please!!! But cards, ATCs, tags...hm...not really my cup of tea - as much as I love tea. ;) But from time to time I get an assignment to create something small and I must say it is a challenge but hey, don't you love a good one? This is actually one of the best ways to test yourself or to break out of a creative rut - to try something different from your ordinary ways - a colour that you don't usually use, a new tool, or - there we go - a size that we don't usually work with. I think it might be refreshing. Today I would like to show you some works that I created for Sizzix with Flora Grande Collection by Prima Marketing ( yes, they did it!) - and here comes some good news - you can make them too! It's just enough to hop on this site, sign up and enjoy all the detailed downloads that will guide you to create some deliciously grungy small forms. :) All the projects are based on my Sunrise Sunset collection. So...darling readers... are you ready to challenge yourself? How about trying something different today?

Hi there everyone, Some very, very exciting and thrilling news to share with you all and also to hope for, YES it is true...... I have been selected as a Finalist for the Kaisercraft Contributing Design Team for 2014-2015. Part of the second round of Auditions for Kaisercraft was to create 2 layouts with two amazing new paper packs, which was sent to me last week. I had less than 2 weeks to create these projects (these paper collections are have not been released, as yet , so you will all have a sneeky, peeky at these wonderful new paper collections.) I have been super, duper Lucky to be part of this wonderful Design Team for the past two years. I love working with Kaisercraft new paper collections and products, and there products are so gorgeous. Being on this Design Team is a dream come true, so I hope I can stay for another year. (Fingers crossed !!!) So, when I received my package from Kaisercraft, the other day and fell in love with the new papers, I created a layout , Beyond the page project and some cards with each of the two paper collections. One paper collection is a Christmas paper collection called "Yuletide" and the other is very romantic, soft and rustic paper range called "Rustic Harmony' (I DO LOVE this one) This year's Finalist selection of people is a jaw stopper, some wonderful, creative and talented people have been selected in the second round. It is going to be a very hard choice for the Judges!!! I wish everyone the best of luck and fingers crossed for some of my scrappy, happy friends, hope you get to be selected. So here goes............. my Auditioning blog post for the Contributing Kaisercraft Design Team 2014-15. Rustic Harmony paper collection projects. "Live a Beautiful LIFE" I really love this paper range - very romantic and soft. I created a Standing Butterfly SB2217 with the Rustic Harmony papers titled ..... "LOVE" and a card made as well with the Rustic Harmony papers "Our Amazing Life" Now for the projects I created with the Christmas papers "Yuletide" "Trimming the Tree" layout. I do love the colours in this Christmas paper collection, very vintage and classical. I also created a "Funky Christmas Wreath" with the Beyond the Page item called "Funky Wreath - SB2077" This would look wonderful on the front door around Christmas time. and of course, some Christmas cards. Well that's all for today, I am sending these projects to Kaisercraft today..... Fingers crossed XXXXX, Now I have to be patient and wait for the final decision. Wish me luck XX and thanks for looking. Thankyou, also for all your comments, and for following my blog I love reading all your comments....... Have a great week.....Cheers Adriana :) XX
Spring is on it's way (hard to tell here today, the temperatures are still below zero), but I know that lots of people have wedding anniversaries coming up. So I thought it would be nice to scrap a Kit Page for The Scrapbook Diaries that would work nicely as a romantic page or can be adapted to use as a masculine page as well (lots of fun chains, clocks, cogs and gears in this one! I also thought it would be fun to use a very cool mixed media background paper. I've always wanted to try playing with Tim Holtz inks and embossed resist papers. The background design was created using 2 Tim Holtz distress inks (included in the kit) and a KaiserCraft embossed resist paper. There is loads of yummy chipboard in this kit, and in the video tutorial (which you get unlimited access to with the purchase of the kit), I show you how to get this verdigris/rust patina on the chipboard pieces. I chose very rustic looking blooms for this page (burlap and metal) so that they would not look out of place even if you were to use an all masculine pic for this page. There are some really awesome accent embellies in this kit as well, I just love those sugar dots, the splash of color they add to the layout is even more shimmery in real life! As always the kit comes with a full VIDEO TUTORIAL to which you will have unlimited access to (with the purchase of the kit). Just follow along and recreate this page or tweak it to suit your own tastes. You can find this kit today at The Scrapbook Diaries HERE. (It's available as a Basic or Complete kit, depending on whether you need the inks etc....Janene likes to help you save where you can :) Be sure to check out the Scrapbook Diaries Blog as well to see the gorgeous bonus page that Janene Meyerowitz created for the kit as well, this is a Stunner! (love the way she incorporated the butterflies and the way she used the Tim Holtz inks!) Before I close off today I wanted to share another bit of exciting news with you all! I have come out with another stamp set! This is another texture style stamp set! Being a scrapbooker myself I know the type of stamps I would like to play with, so I got to work sketching out some texture designs....I did a peeled paint finish, a crackle design and a chicken wire design, as well as a barb wire strip! Have you ever been in a hurry when making up a project but didn't want to scrimp on design? I thought the crackle and peeled paint designs would work beautifully to add a nice textural element to your chipboard pieces! And chicken wire, who doesn't love a bit of that on their pages, right? And I thought it would be nice to add a barbed wire border design to the stamp set to round it out, so I hand drew out a barbed wire design to be used on masculine style pages (not that you can use it on a feminine page as well, lol). You can find my stamp set at The Scrapbook Diaries HERE! And and update on my first texture stamp set (the water droplet/brick set), Janene completely sold out of this set and ordered a new run of them, so they are now again available in her store as well! NOTE: There has been some confusion in the past as far as shipping rates on my stamp sets. Here is a quote from Janene on how to go about ordering stamps for International customers..... International Customers… Shipping of 1 stamp set is $8.88 (Canada – a bit less for you). Shipping of 2-5 stamp sets is usually $11.48. If interested in the kit and stamp set, shipping will general be about $18.50. You can email us for a price quote (please specify the items you wish to purchase and where you are located) or you can place order and click – “Bill me actual shipping”. Once we have your order filled, we will email you a Money Request form PayPal for the specified shipping (all shipments sent via US Postal Service). We made this a bit easier for you when it comes to finding the various products Gabrielle has created for us: Available Kits (these are full kits still available for purchase) Gabi’s Products (you can find all my stamps here in case you want to take advantage of shipping pkg) Video Tutorials (these are the video tutorials only, for past kits that I've created) Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I always appreciate and read all the kind feedback and hope to answer any and all questions. xo

hello crafty peeps! it is my turn on the MERLY IMPRESSIONS' blog today and i've got a short tutorial to share with you – embellish your embellishments! as you all know every KAISERCRAFT collection comes with a package of collectables, sticker sheet and a small paper pad - all things necessary to embellish your layout / card / OTP. and they are all FANTASTIC!!! but sometimes you just need something different, something more fancy… so, here are a few tips, i came up with, on how to EMBELLISH your EMBELLISHMENTS - "ME & YOU" for my project i used KAISERCRAFT blubelle collection. i used a lot of die cuts and fussy cut elements on my page and here is what i did to make them even more pretty: 1. RHINESTONES – KAISERCRAFT has a wide range of rhinestones – in every colour and matching every paper line. there is nothing easier than adding a few rhinestones to your embellishments to make them sparkly and happy! here i used KAISERCRAFT rhinestones strips silver to outline the sentiment or to create one from a simple piece of paper. 2. LIQUID PEARLS – a great addition to every project! i used two different colours on my page – bisque and baby blue. 3. GLITTER GLUE - it gives in an instant luxurious look & feel to your page. 4. DOODLE or draw on your creations – it always gives a personal touch to your creation! i added a simple border to these stickers… … and coloured the frame on this die cut, using KAISERFUSION PENS. here is a list with some of the products i used on this page: Paper Pack - Blubelle Collection Blubelle collection "Windsor" Blubelle collection "Cambridge" Blubelle collection "Sticker sheet quotes" Blubelle collection "Sticker sheet" Blubelle paper pad Blubelle Collection Collectables Rhinestones Dark Blue Rhinestone Strips - Silver Kaiserfusion Pens Kaisercraft Glue Stick Mounting Foam Dots Kaisercraft Double-sided Tape Mounting Foam Tape i hope i manage to give you some fresh ideas and i can't wait to see how you are going to EMBELLISH your EMBELLISHMENTS! have a wonderful week! hugs 'n smiles,
Hello Friends, I am super excited about this post. I was selected for Round 2, of the 2017 - 2018 Kaisercraft Design Team Call Out. One of the exciting parts of the process was receiving some Happy Mail from the Kaisercraft Team. It comprised of the "Lilac Whisper" Collection, and many yummy embellishments. I decided to create a layout for my project for this Round. Creating layouts is a huge passion for me. It is therapy, and it really can bring a memory to life. When I start the process of creating a layout, I am inspired by the colors. The colors in this collection, are what made me create a layout, using a photo of my Mum and Nan. Two women who inspire me. My Nanna is no longer here on Earth and that makes this project even more special. So many pretty shades of purple, white and green. I begin my layout by cutting out my circle from the 12 x 12 Corrugated Cardboard. To begin that process, I am using a small dinner plate from my kitchen. I make sure to turn the bumps down, so that the smooth side is facing up. Using a lead pencil, I draw the circle and then cut it out. To create the shabby edge to the circle, I use a Kaisercraft sanding tool, and then I curl the edge by hand as per the photo above. It was then time to add some watered down Kaisercraft Paint - White to the edge of the circle and sparingly over the centre, to give it a vintage look. Then I move onto the background texture and colors. With my Kaisercraft Ink Pad - Orchid, I stamped directly onto the craft mat, I add some water to the ink, then apply to my textured areas to give a watercolor affect. Drying in between each layer. I add splatters of the Kaisercraft Paint - Sage with water to the same areas. Also applying a little of the Kaisermist - Charcoal as splatter too. Painting some of these gorgeous Wooden Flourishes was another thing I did before I started laying down all of the layers of patterned paper and embellishments. These are some of the techniques used to create this layout. I hope you enjoy the process video below to show you how it all came together. Here are some close-ups: There are loads of layers and distressing of the beautiful papers in this collection. I painted the Kaisercraft Wooden Flourishes using KC014 | Paint -Mauve. This flower cluster was created using the Paper Blooms, Wooden Flourishes and Collectables. I used lots of pieces from SS342 | Lilac Whisper Sticker Sheet. The CB153 | Corrugated Cardboard Sheets 12 x 12 featured heavily in my layout. I created texture in the background by using IT017 | Mini Designer Template - Blossom and some texture paste. The colour was created by using IP732 | Ink Pad - Orchid and water as you will see in my Process Video. Here are the Kaisercraft Products used: P2348 | White Wood P2349 | Jade P2346 | Opal IT017 | Mini Designer Template - Blossom CB153 | Corrugated Cardboard Sheets 12 x 12 CD163 | Spearmint 12 x 12 Weave CD157 | Sage 12 x 12 Weave CD101 | Coconut 12 x 12 Weave FL604 | Wood Flourish Pack - Bouquet CT885 | Lilac Whisper Collectables F643 | Paper Blooms - Amethyst F649 | Mini Paper Blooms - Sage IP732 | Ink Pad - Orchid KC025 | Paint - Sage KC001 | Paint - White KC014 | Paint - Mauve KM101 | Kaisermist - Charcoal MA502 | Mini Alphas - White & Black SS342 | Lilac Whisper - Sticker Sheet Here is the process video: Thanks so much for stopping by. xx And keep your fingers and toes crossed. On the Sizzix blog you will find a short photo story about the classes - and some great inspiration from my students and me:) Take a peek - I'm sure we all need a bit of hot sun in the middle of this cold weather here!
