My little daughter, Kitti is just turned to 7 this summer (time's fly), and I decided to collect her most dominant traits, and her favorite to-dos. I used my favorite mini album cut file. I love this project, because I just have to cut the form, and then come my favorite part, the embellishing :) This is a little video about the mini album's upgrade: XO Bea

Elegant Eggplant is not a color that I have used very often, but this week the color challenge at the ColorLab pairs it with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. Nothing like a couple of great colors to get the creative juices flowing and entice me to try a something new. I started my card by following the MOJO sketch, which, on the last Monday of the month, is always a choice between a round or square card. I love round cards, and it's been a while since I made one, so I tried my hand at it again. What I ended up with is a faithful version of the color challenge and a modified version of the sketch! I found that my scallop circle was a little small and seemed over-powered by a couple of elements of the sketch. So I switched the ribbon at the top for some linen twin, and completely left off the long thin panel that would be next to the button. But despite these changes I really like how this card turned out. The colors are so rich you can't help but like them. And I can always add a heartfelt sentiment on the inside of the card later. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the Color Lab, check out the fabulous colors and inspiration from the Design Team and create something. We'd love to see what you do!

Sketches are two-fold winning wonders… how so? Well, for one, you can develop stunning projects without having to go to the trouble of designing a page completely from scratch — the blueprints are right there for you to work off of! On the flip side, sketches also allow you the freedom to include whatever tickles your scrapbooking fancy and means most to you — little knick-knacks and memorabilia, handwritten stories, special photos and embellishments, stickers and borders that add a punch of personal pizzazz and signature style. Whichever side to sketches you lean toward (or maybe a combo of the two!), they’re a surefire way to get the creativity flowing! Let’s see what you put together with these innovative ideas below.
Hi everyone, Diane here! It's time for Pocket Life Friday. The September Pocket Life "Lombard" kit is so cute! I just adore the gorgeous puffy stickers, tiny words and wood veneer in this kit! I added little bits of stitching and and I had to restrain myself from going overboard stamping but who could blame me with stamps like these! And here are a few close-ups.. And now for your Pocket Life sketches... I can't wait to see what you do with them! Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday, where every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win. For your chance to win, create a layout based on the sketches in this blog post, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, September 25th. I can't believe it's November already! We had a great Halloween. Lots of candy and family and fun! We started off the day by taking the kids to some businesses in our little town where we had family members working. That was the bulk of our trick-or-treating, kinda lame but the kids loved it! Then we had lunch with Grandma, Grandpa, and a few cousins. In the afternoon we carved pumpkins and made dinner. The kids did a little more trick or treating in our neighborhood. We ended the evening with a big bang and watched Hocus-Pocus. Okay so maybe that wasn't really a bang but the kids loved it and the adults got a good laugh out of the whole 90's movie thing. Today the Page Maps newsletter hit your inbox. I'm so thrilled to be part of another Page Maps newsletter. I was also part of the September Page Maps newsletter. For November's Page Maps newsletter I did a double page layout. *gasp* I know! It's also the second double page layout I've done recently. You can find the details about that adventure HERE. For my project this month I used the Pebbles Home+Made collection. These are photos that I took the a couple of weekends ago when my brother and his family were here. Oh wait, I forgot to show you the sketch I was given. Once again, not what I would typically create with, LOTs of photos and double page spread, but I loved thinking outside of my normal creative box and trying something new. Here's my final project: Make sure you check out what the other Pebbles designers have created for Page Maps this month. Have a great weekend!
What's up scrappy peeps?! Today I am trying a Pocket Life Sketch Friday for the first time! I used the June Pocket Life Kit to create a double page spread in my 9x12 Project Life album. I have created two versions of the sketch for you all, as I know that the 12x12" Project Life size is far more popular, hope you enjoy! Don't forget to scroll to the bottom of this post to watch the full process video :) ...annnnd here is the 12x12" modified sketch! I had a really fun time playing with the filler cards this week using the exclusive Citrus Twist ephemera pieces included this month. I loved the colours included in the kit and they suited the tones of my photos perfectly. I added a little bit of simple white tissue paper to add to the texture of the ephemera and craft foam to add dimension and make the embellishments stand out. I am really enjoying the 9x12" format and highly recommend testing it out by including an insert in your traditional 12x12" size. It's fun to play with different inserts! Hope you enjoy my process video! Adele :)
