Hi scrappers! Recently, I've had a lot of requests for the instructions to my What's Cookin' Recipe Album kit that sold out in September. So, I just added them to my shop! It's a great way to organize your recipes and photos, AND it makes an amazing keepsake or handmade gift for someone. To purchase the instructions for this project visit: What's Cookin' Recipe Scrapbook Instructions There are so many ways to collect great recipes - from a friend, an online search, Pinterest, or the best way ... passed down through generations. Saving these recipes in this way honors the cooks and bakers that came before us and creates an album that will become a family heirloom. Spend time choosing your recipes. Consider your family traditions, holidays, meals you made from your garden, amazing desserts, etc. I have some recipe cards that are in my mom's handwriting. They are my most treasured! You may also have magazine clippings, photos, and journal tidbits to add. Great! I love the idea of adding photos to recipe books. Gather pictures of the people that inspired you, created the recipe, the completed dish, and the ingredients that go into it. Add fun photos of you, family, friends, your kitchen, or your garden. Photos will make your scrapbook so meaningful. If you want to personalize your book even more, journal about who created the recipe or who's in the photo, when they made it, where the photo was taken, what was the occasion, etc. Or keep it simple and type or write the date, place, or person’s name. These can be added next to your recipes and photos as a continuation of the story of your family history. For this album, I created tabbed divider pages to organize the recipes. I used stickers from the Simple Stories Apron Strings collection but you can customize the tabs to whatever you like. I added lots of clear divided page protectors for recipes and photos. This way, they are preserved but you can still take them out if necessary. So many cute recipe cards! I created this with a red 6x8 inch Simple Stories binder and two different collections that I fell in love with. One was the Simple Stories, Apron Strings Collection and the other was the Echo Park, Farmhouse Kitchen Collection. Below, I've added the links to my instructions and the products used. Ahoy Mateys! It's Friday and that means I have a new album in my shop. Yay! Today's scrapbook is titled Bon Voyage and it's perfect for your traveling adventures on the water. Whether you take an ocean or river cruise or lots of smaller boating trips, go with family or friends or fly solo ... this is the place for your memories. To purchase the instructions for these albums visit: Bon Voyage Scrapbook Instructions I designed this with a 6x8 inch Simple Stories blue binder and the vibrant Bon Voyage Collection, designed by Steven Duncan for Carta Bella. I'm a huge fan of his artwork and I think you'll love the images in this line. On the cover, I've included a custom Artsy Albums wooden anchor and some natural twine to match. Inside, there are tons of interactive elements for extra storage space. On this page, there's a larger sized "Welcome Aboard" flippie and behind that is a great little pocket. Check out the ribbon on the photo card. Cute detail even though the anchors are upside down, lol! In the photo above, the patterned paper on the left (lining the inside cover) has lots of coastal images like fins, a mask, shells, chairs, fish, umbrellas, etc. So your pictures of the beach, in the pool, snorkeling, and enjoying the sun are welcome! You can even add 2 small ones to the starfish flippie. Here's a close-up of the pocket on that folding page. It's filled with cute little tickets, die cuts, and cards that are great for note taking. (I told you there were lots of cute elements😉) Of course, I've added larger pockets as well. These are ideal for saving your daily schedules that the ship gives you. These list the daily activities, weather forecast, and dining reservations. Well, that certainly helps to remember the details of your trip! You can also add your cruise card (room key), postcards from different ports, excursion tickets, business cards, etc. Nearly all cruise ships have onboard photography services. You can either set up a time to have professional photos taken, or you can purchase ones taken of you during dinner or at embarkation. This could be a great page for one of those photos! Look how cute this smaller rectangular page is! It adds interest in between the other 6x8 pages and ... it has 3 lil' nautical flippies! The backside has one big photo mat for a larger picture. There is plenty of space for photos on and off the ship. Save memories from the different ports your ship stops at, your excursions, fun adventures, and sightseeing. Oh, I love this page! It's filled with great examples of Steven Duncan's artwork. The little images are clean, bright, super colorful, and so much fun! And, check it out ... more flippies! I love these paper and embellishments for a summer mini. It's filled with citrus colors of yellow, pink, green, orange, and a touch of aqua blue!
