I went out with a friend for her birthday recently and I bought an old book of Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities. Unusually there is no printer's date in it but it was scribed by someone and dated the 7th January 1910, over a hundred years old, so now I don't want to tear it up or alter it lol. However my friend had some books in her car ready for the charity shop and one was A Country Diary birthday book, certainly not old at all but the illustrations are all flowers and are hand painted prints so I decided to take it off her hands and have a play at using some of the gorgeous flower designs in some journal pages. This is the first one stuck into my nature journal which already had some tissue collage paper glued on it. To age the illustration I stamped with some text and gave it a light coat of watery gesso and distressed the torn edges. I painted some wildflower stems ..... .... and drew round one of Tim's transparent butterflies on watercolour paper, dipped it in some pinky paint washes, glued the two together and covered the surface with glue to make it matte. I also added a crochet die border and a quote. You'd think this would be quite quick to do but as always I overthink everything. I am also sharing this over on the Country View Crafts project blog. xxx Supplies from Country View Crafts Tim Holtz wildflowers die and crochet die Tim Holtz stamps Nature's Wonder Tim Holtz Transparent acetate wings

I started getting into modern embroidery about 2 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the textures and colors I was able to play around with on a hoop. This past December, I started teaching Modern Embroidery Workshops because I felt a need to share and connect with other crafty humans in a physical space. Before getting into embroidery, I started my own baking blog which really allowed me to explore and express my creativity. Nutmeg & Honeybee is a creative community dedicated to feeding my curiosity and how I can play with different mediums to satiate those cravings. I am excited to meet you at the workshop and learn more about your creative journey!

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends June Blog Hop and this month our theme is "Coloring Inside the Lines". Our Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore all the wonderful coloring options Stampin' Up! has to offer. One of my favorite coloring techniques would have to be coloring with Stampin' Blends Markers. I love the way these alcohol markers blend and the beautiful vibrant colors. For this card design, I chose to use the new Spotlight on Nature Bundle, which is one of the bundles on sale this month with an additional 10% discount. I paired it with one of the designs from the Thoughtful Journey 6"x6" Designer Series Paper. I just love the soft, water color background it creates for the card design that combines beautifully with the focal images. Products Used: Spotlight On Nature Bundle (item #163581) Stylish Shapes Dies (item #159183) Thoughtful Journey 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #163303) Misty Moonlight Cardstock (item #153081) Basic White Cardstock (item #159276) Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708) Versamark Pad (item #102283) Basics Wow Embossing Powders (item #165679) Boho Blue Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #161659) Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154885) Petunia Pop Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #163828) Pretty In Pink Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #163824) Tinsel Gems Three Pack (item #161624) Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon (item #162149) Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430) Measurements: Misty Moonlight Cardstock Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4") Sentiment Label die cut with the Stylish Labels Dies Basic White Cardstock Large Circle die cut with the Spotlight On Nature Dies Butterfly stamped and fussy cut Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4" This pretty card design is all about beautiful colors and I chose to use Boho Blue and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers for the floral image and Pretty In Pink and Petunia Pop Stampin' Blends Markers for the butterfly image. To create the focal image, I used the Spotlight on Nature Dies to die cut the large detailed circle. I fussy cut the butterfly out after coloring it and added it to the circle with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. For the sentiment label, I heat embossed the image with Basic White embossing powder and die cut the sentiment with the Stylish Shapes Dies. To add a touch of bling, I added several of the Misty Moonlight Gems and I piece of the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon behind the sentiment label. I love how the colors work together to create a beautiful thank you card. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire to create your own wonderful projects using coloring techniques. There are so many amazing options to explore. This crochet Lavender pattern was designed after our family visited a beautiful lavender field in the mountains near Mt Hood, Oregon’s tallest Cascade peak. Lavender plants in their big quantity make for a spectacular view and create an incredible smell! Seeing this amazing purple field is very impressive. You can enjoy the pictures I took …
In the previous blog post, I mentioned Stampin' Up!'s Country Woods Suite Collection and that it includes the "Country Birdhouse" bundle. Well . . . it also includes another gorgeous bundle - "Country Flowers". I love, love, love the colors in the card that I'm sharing today, which features some of the dies and images from "Country Flowers". Speaking of dies . . . I seem to be making a habit of die-cutting a handful of shapes from white cardstock and stamping them after they've been cut. Sometimes I just do my best to line up a stamp with a die-cut shape, and then there are times when I go to a teensy extra step. The photo above shows the scrap of white cardstock that I used to cut the floral images for my card. This scrap is now kept in the stamp case (along with the dies) to be used again and again as a template for accurately stamping the coordinating images. I should mention that I always use a stamp positioning tool for this method in case I need to stamp the images more than once. The photo above shows the template on the tool. On the acrylic part of the tool (which you can't see in the photo), I have used the template to line up the respective stamps. The die-cut shapes are placed back (on the template) into the spaces where they were cut. The stamps are inked and then stamped onto the die-cut shapes as you can see in the above photo. When removed from the template, the die-cut and perfectly stamped shapes (see photo below) are ready to be colored. I should use this method all the time because it always feels like a win to have a perfect border around die-cut shapes. Don't they look great? Can you guess what makes them even better? That's right . . . color! Below is a photo of the finished card: The images were colored with alcohol markers. I played around with mixing some colors to get the dirty/aged texture on the gray and green pots, which I think gave them some much needed depth. For the stool, I adhered a scrap of "Country Woods" designer paper to a piece of cardstock prior to die-cutting it, and that turned out to be good thing because the stool was nice and sturdy--and the embossed texture of the card behind it didn't get pushed through the DSP when all the layers were assembled. The floor of the card is also from the "Country Woods" designer paper collection. Now . . . those deeply embossed dots? They were created with the brand new "Dotted Circle" 3D embossing folder. The Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins were a perfect finishing touch for this card. My cardstock colors are Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath. I'm really excited about this fantastic suite of products! My plan is to prepare plenty of stamped and die-cut images that I can work on coloring whenever and wherever. Then . . . all of the time-consuming elements will be complete and ready to land on some cards. This suite of products is probably going to end up on your wishlist. :-) Have a stampin' good day!

Hello and welcome my friends, My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you the first colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's Week 1 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. It's been a while since my last Colour Creation and I'm so excited to be back here again. The first colour is Peach Pie which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting! All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on. New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Country Flowers bundle (163411) which is part of the Country Woods Suite Collection and you can find it on pages 48 to 51 in the catalogue. Country Flowers bundle (163411) The Country Flowers bundle includes the Country Flowers stamp set and Country Flowers dies. I've been using this bundle now for a couple of my projects and I love it! The stamp images of bunches of flowers, cute flowerpots and a variety of different sentiments for your card making and paper craft. I stamped the images using Basic Gray ink onto Basic White cardstock and coloured in the images using Stampin' Blends in Peach Pie, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon. I like to leave white space to create depth when colouring in the images. I also added detailed die-cut images to the background of the coloured in flowers and a couple of fallen leaves to add interest. I wanted to add Peach Pie Glimmer Paper which is from the 2024-26 In Color Glimmer 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (163771) to my card, so I used the scissors die image from the Crafting With You Dies (161225) for some detailed bling! I thought this was lots of fun to my card. To create the sentiment, I actually combined two words together from two different sentiments and stamped them in Basic Gray ink onto Peach Pie paper from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper (163372). I also used this same Peach Pie paper and layered it under the embossed Basic White cardstock. Then I die-cut out using one of the smaller circular dies from the Spotlight on Nature Dies (163580). To finish off the card I created a cute bow using Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon (163783) by pulling away fine strands from the ribbon and tying it into a delicate bow. Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love to hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.
