Hi everyone For me it is day 18 of being at home. Some days are good and others not so good. Yesterday I surfed a little on YouTube and pinterest and saw some various forms of snippet belly bands and decided to create a few of my own. I started with a 1" x 8" strip of heavier chip board (cereal box would work) and then used scrappy bits off my table to create these lovely bands. They could be used to decorate a page edge, or as a long belly band or even cut up in snippet clusters. Either way they are so darn cute and super fast and easy to make, I had to share. If you are looking for a fast easy little project, why not give them a try. I'd love to see your creations.

For our sketch challenge (deadline: June 14), please click here. ------------------------------ Today we have a wonderful tutorial to share from My Creative Scrapbook Guest Designer Stacy Cohen featuring our June Limited Edition kit! Here's Stacy: "Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to be a Guest Designer at My Creative Scrapbook this month! Today I’m going to share how I made the layered patterned paper waves on my “Lovely” layout. 1. Cut a piece of cardstock that is the approximate size you want your wavy paper block to be. I cut mine to 7” wide because I wanted it to align with the edges of my 5” x 7” photo. Grab a pencil and a flexible ruler (if you have one). 2. Draw horizontal curvy lines from top to bottom. Note: You don’t need a flexible ruler to draw the curvy lines; you can easily freehand draw them. 3. Cut along the curvy lines. These pieces will be your cutting templates. It helps to number them so that you can choose the order of the patterned paper pieces to cut. 4. Use the wavy sections as templates to trace and cut the curvy sections from patterned paper. This is a great way to use up your scraps!! 5. Once you’ve traced and cut all the curvy sections, you can ink or stitch the edges, if desired. 6. Cut another piece of cardstock the same width as the first piece you cut and use it as the base for the wavy paper pieces. Adhere the wavy paper pieces to the cardstock starting from top to bottom, slightly overlapping each piece. Cut off any excess cardstock on the bottom. You can always go back and add some more wavy layers if you want to make your paper block taller. And VOILA!" Welcome to Creative Memories Easter blog hop - Stop #3 Are Eww ready for a SUPER cute blog hop?? Home Office Inspired Goggle Eyes You'll need the following items to create these cute sheep: Blossum Place Punch Border Maker System with Picket Fence cartridge Medallion Frame Chain Cartridge Bubbles Border Cartridge Heart Chain Cartridge Original Oval Cutting System Creative Memories Scissors Black & White Card stock To make the legs on the fence you'll use the Picket Fence Cartridge from the original border maker system and with scissors trim away area in red. The base of the sheep is created with the Blossom Place Punch. The hair is 3 of the negative space of the Medallion Frame Chain Cartridge layered on top of a oval cut with the inner green of the 3 1/8 x 3" oval of the original cutting system. The ears are from Blossom Place Punch, trim with scissors The eyes were created from the Bubbles Cartridge. The chicks body was created with the inner of 3 1/8 x 3" oval of the original cutting system with red blade. The chick's head was created with the inner of 3 1/8 x 3" oval of the original cutting system with green blade. The wings are the Blossom Place Punch. The hair was the negative space of Diamond Scroll Cartridge. The feet are the negative space of Heart Chain Cartridge. The eyes were created from Bubbles Cartridge. The beak was created with the Medallion Frame Chain Cartridge, trim up with scissors. Hatching chick The egg was created by using the 4"x6" Oval cutting system with inner green blade. For the "chick's" body use 4"x6" Oval cutting system with inner blue blade using scissors to create the zig zag - cracked egg look. The wings were created with the Blossom Place punch, cut in half to create 2 wings. The eyes are from Bubbles Cartridge. The beak was created with the Medallion Frame Chain Cartridge, trim up with scissors. The feet are the negative space of Heart Chain Cartridge. Mischievous Easter Bunny getting into your basket? These cute baskets would be perfect with any Easter picture. Cut a border with Picket Fence Cartridge then trim paper to 1 1/2" and manual with free stand alone punch lined up so it will zig zag for the basket look. You'll need to cut one additional row for larger basket. Trim to size and then with 2 way corner round, curve the bottom of basket. Then weave a beige strip through the spaces. For the handle of larger basket use the 3 1/2 x5" Oval from the cutting system and use blue blade cut paper and then without moving the oval use the red blade to create the handle. The smaller basket you would do the same steps but using the 3 7/8 x 3" and green blade, followed by the red blade. The rabbit base is 2" circle cut with Circle cutting system. The tail is the Blossom Place Punch. The feet are blue blade Oval Cutting system and pink heart are from Heart Chain Cartridge. The egg is cut out of the Look on the Bright side paper pack and use the Circle of the Shape Maker System. This is how you would cut base of basket. This Beautiful Easter Blessing page was created with the New Fresh Picks Paper Pack and Slide in cards. The "Beautiful" and two purple cards are from the Slide-in Fresh Picks pack. To make the cross, take brown paper and punch a border with the Diamond Scroll Cartridge trim with straight trimmer to 1" by 6" for the base of the cross. Then with remaining 6", cut to 4" for horizontal of cross. Use 2-way corner and round strips. Then layer the back with cream paper. Adhere them to back of brown with tape runner. Using the Medallion Frame Chain Cartridge, punch out border in cream and layer on top of the cross. The flowers were made with the Lace Flower Chain cartridge. Cut one out in dark purple and then the lighter purple on top, use scissors to trim off "lace". My FAVORITE part of this page is how the lilies turned out. These would be perfect to add to a card to make for someone. Using the 2" square from the Shape Maker system cut out two squares. Then your going to fold them like photo below and take pencil and curl the edges under to create the lily look. The negative space created from the Lace Flower Chain cartridge was used to make the pistol of the flower. Trim with scissors two inner stems. The leaves were created by cutting Circles with the Shape maker system and then put circle back into punch to make an "oval" leave. What was your favorite technique? Today is my day to share some ideas over on the Stampin’ Stylin’ Inkspiration blog and I thought I would share with them and you a technique that has been around for a while but I only …
I have shared some "out of the journal" art... in some previous posts... today I wanted to show you some "in the journal pages"... well... sort of... I made my own small journal with my small art parts creative covers... I assembled the journal with tim's D RINGS, instead of the ring binder, for a change of pace... these large rings allow lots of pages to be inserted... plus it gives plenty of room to add dimensional embellishments... I LOVE this journal format because... the pages can be made from anything you like... I used Ranger's Specialty Stamping Paper... I know...shocking! you can add pages made from manila card stock, grunge, art parts pages or even Clicker Cutts pages... it's up to you to... you can mix them up for a really mixed media journal... I also like the fact that it's NOT a bound journal... so if something turns out ugly... it can easily get trashed & no one is the wiser! I think that makes it easier to start on a blank page... knowing there's no pressure... ugly? TRASH IT~ without ripping a page from your bound book... it's very easy to work on these pages, since they sit nice & flat on your table... here's my cover... a little funky... kind of like me! my art school stamp fit right in the art parts bookplate... one hole has a mini gear with a screw eye... the other hole is a perfect fit for tim's new clock key... which works for me as a knob to open the journal... my queen is peeking out & her crown is the perfect size for ARTIST... from the artist definition stamp... the art parts pencil was inked with the new distress markers... brushed corduroy & mustard seed... these new markers make it so simple & precise! and those lovely lips... my Blossom Bucket trinket... one of my most favorites... LOVE them... the text was stamped on the lips with jet black archival... heat set & now it's permanent... the pages are cut to 3 1/2 x 5 inches... sized for the small creative covers... this is the style I'll be teaching in my Beyond Basic Backgrounds class... here's the first page... the background is done with distress stains & inks... Lady Dy's stencil... my stamps... dots from the detail water brush... main stamping with jet black archival... and to add texture/dimension... my small 6 petal art parts flower... inked with rusty hinge distress stain... here's another... I stamped this flower onto a background that I didn't care for... I used the small area that was OK & trashed the rest! it's not completely glued down... completely flat bothers me... so the petals on the right stand out... same distress background... this time with brushed corduroy & faded jeans stain... LOVE LOVE LOVE the peeled paint marker for stems, leaves & the hills... that would be me... resident artist... and what flower doesn't need an eye for a center? another favorite piece from Blossom Bucket... the scallop circle... filled with Glossy Accents... so...that's art journaling... studio 490 style... I hope you can find some inspiration here... try it... find your style... let me know how you do... and if you want more inspiration... check out Simon Says stamp & show... this weeks challenge is studio 490 inspiration... PREPARE to be AMAZED @ the AWESOME arts from the SSS design team... ok...back to making kits... next stop on the art adventure is... the Paper Niche in Davie Florida... no time today to... make art! wendy

Knus Jytte :)
Hello! I have been scrapbooking since 2004 and have started this blog in 2011 in order to share my creations with fellow scrapbookers. I create mostly layouts, but also make cards, tags and also dabble in mixed media canvas and the occasional off the page project. Hope you enjoy!
