Hi, all! Are you ready for another installment in the Scrumptious Scraps Quilt-Along? This week I'll be talking about using what you...
Using our Just Add Ink sketch from this week as inspiration, l thought it wouldn't hurt to have a pink version of my DT card in stock as well...So l guess you could say it's "Same, Same, but different" and at least l overcame my aversion to using a doily on this one..:0) I'm a little taken with this cute little image and sweet "Happy Heart" embossing folder..:0) Not that you can see in the pics, but I've added some "Dazzling Details" to the wings and punched a matching heart from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper....It's just a little pretty and sooo, girly! "Thanks for stopping by" All supplies used are Stampin Up!

I was excited this last week as my Big Brown Box arrived with my stamparatus and the Blossoming Basket Bundle. Wow I was so surprised that the Basket Weave came in the 3 dimensional Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, wow oh wow (and it does carry over into the next Annual Catalogue). You may be starting here so welcome to this weeks blog hop or you could have come from Sandra Collett. This week I am caseing the card to the left, with a white background but have used the different tones of naturals and yellows for the flowers and basket. The Stampin' Blends make colouring in the flowers and basket so easy, but the fussy cutting out the inside the basket handle too a little time and patience. For my card class yesterday we used the same theme but made the card into a landscape card and added some of the beautiful Copper ribbon to the centre of the card instead of a little strip up the side. Stamp Set: Blossoming Basket Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake Ink: Memento, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and lots of Stampin' Blends Accessories: Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Copper Twine, Twine Thanks for hopping today, it's time to hop on over to Megan Lenske and wow love what she has created this week with the Sale-A-Bration products. If you haven't figured it out just yet, I LOVE the Blossoming Basket bundle! You need to see the awesome background the folder creates and if you like to color then the stamp set is a must-have too! (

Welcome to the February 2017 Tour de Freaks! Our theme this month is Celebrations, meaning any occasion that is cause to celebrate. That sure leaves it wide open for birthday, new baby, congratulations, wedding, anniversary, graduation, retirement..... you name it! I'm the first stop on this month's hop, but you may have just landed here from LeeAnn's blog, Flowerbug's Inkspot. Weren't her projects amazing? (I do "pin" a lot of her stuff!) Just click the button at the bottom of each page to make your way through the whole tour. There are only seven of us this month, so it'll be quick! I decided to celebrate a birthday and celebrate Spring, which is right around the corner! (Yes, it really is, for you folks still up to your keisters in snow! Hang in there!!!) I still can't get enough of the daffodils in Basket Bunch, so I made another card using them. I don't know if it shows, but the trumpets are glitzed up with a little Clear Wink of Stella. And for the birthday card, the Beautiful You stamp set just about shouts "celebration" with the woman's uninhibited dance moves! It reminds me of the movie "Singing in the Rain." The floral print paper in our Brights Designer Series Paper color collection is perfect for paper-piecing her dress and hat. Thanks for stopping by! I'm keeping it short and sweet this month, so up next on the tour is Melissa Davies, over at the RubberFUNatics. Be sure to click the link so you can see what she has in store for you!
Oh yes, we do! And that's the theme of this month's Tour de Freaks - Beautiful Bouquets! Now that Spring is right around the corner and flowers are popping out everywhere, what better way to celebrate than with some pretty inky blossoms? Whether you just hopped here from Kelly's blog, A Stamp Above, or are starting here, be sure to click the links at the bottom to take the whole tour. There are seven of us this time, so it's a quick trip! When I learned of the theme for this month, I immediately thought of the bouquet in the basket in Blossoming Basket. Remember, this s a Sale-A-Bration freebie you can get with a qualifying order. And, as of today, there are only twelve days left to get it! After coloring the basket of flowers, I added some die cut leaves from the Bouquet Bunch Thinlits Dies. I really like the dimensional look it gives! The silver lines on the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP dressed up the background, along with the basket weave embossed piece. I used some of the same DSP on the envelope flap for a classy look, as well. It's another SAB item you don't want to miss! The inside sentiment is so perfect, because I am blessed many times by my friends, and they always put a smile on my face!!! And aren't those butterflies just the cutest?! That's my "bouquet" for the day. Thanks for stopping by! Up next is Melissa Stout, aka The Stamp Doc! Where do you find inspiration? Sometimes I find it in surprising places. Last week my husband and I went out for breakfast. We hadn't visited this cafe before, and we were very pleasantly surprised at how delicious our omelettes were, as well as the price. And something else that I noticed - a tee shirt. This is Javier. He was clearing tables, and as he walked by, his tee shirt caught my eye: Something about it was familiar: Oh yes...the colors! And the egret! So I asked him if I could take a picture of his shirt (the wait staff tried to sell me one 😁) and I came home to create this: What do you think? Lilypad Lake is a new Stampin' UP! set that includes the egret and has wonderful coordinating dies. So I got busy... I knew I wanted a black background to set off the fabulous colors in the main panel. So I started by sponging, on Whisper White, using Pineapple Punch, Poppy Parade and Call Me Clover inks. Next I stamped the egret from Lilypad Lake. Now this stamp is not a solid stamp, so after stamping it using Tuxedo Black, I colored in the bird with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. Finally, using a mask of the bird, I stamped the tree from Sheltering Tree, using Soft Suede ink. Once done, I took a piece of Basic Black cardstock, 4" x 5-1/4", and ran it through my Big Shot three times. The first time through was with the new Subtle embossing folder. This gives a nice linen look. Then I repeated the trip through the Big Shot with the new Tufted embossing folder. Sigh...LOVE! Can you see the gorgeous texture? For the final Big Shot work, I cut the oval with the Layering Ovals Framelits. Then I placed a lot of Dimensionals on the back and centered it over my stamped panel. The grass was cut with the Lakeside Framelits. This was then adhered to my card base, of Basic Black, using more Dimensionals. A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels were placed on the corners of the Tufted "pillows" to give the card a little sparkle. And I finished it off with a sentiment from Painted Glass, stamped in Versamark ink on Poppy Parade cardstock, and heat embossed with Black embossing powder. I wonder if I need to send this to the cafe? And there's your inspiration for this Sunday; what will you create?
