Capturing the raw essence of adventure and the Scottish Highlands, this expressive print portrays a duo of hikers embarking on their ascent towards the Buachaille summit in Glencoe. The vibrant composition is alive with movement and colour, featuring bold brushstrokes that convey the energy of the majestic landscape. At the forefront, two figures with brightly coloured backpacks navigate the rugged terrain, their purposeful strides and trekking poles in hand exuding a sense of determination and camaraderie. The sharp contrast of their gear against the natural environment serves as a focal point, drawing the eye into the journey that lies ahead. The painting's background is dominated by the formidable peak itself, rendered in dynamic shades of blue, white, and earthy tones, manifesting the sheer scale and beauty of the Scottish munro. Streaming light from the clear skies above bathes the scene in a radiant glow, highlighting the textures and contours of the mountainous terrain. Expressionist in style, this visual narrative eschews realism in favour of emotional impact, inviting viewers to ponder the symbiotic relationship between humans and the sublime natural world. The juxtaposition of the human element within the vast wilderness encapsulates the spirit of exploration and the awe-inspiring power of Glencoe's untamed beauty. This print belongs to our 'Glencoe' collection, a tribute to one of Scotland's most breathtaking landscapes and a testament to the intrepid spirit of those who wander its paths. It is a piece that promises to resonate with outdoor enthusiasts and art lovers alike, bringing a touch of the Highland's grandeur into any space.

These leaf earrings are brass charms with some amazing detail, which have been carefully treated, painted and varnished to bring out beautiful tones and depth of delicate cornflower blue colour! They look like beautiful leaves from a watercolour painting. Every pair is hand painted from our studio in Edinburgh, Scotland - and no two pairs are quite the same! Each leaf is 20mm long (a little larger than the size of a thumbnail) and these earrings are available in two length options, both identical in appearance. The shorter earring measures a total of 40mm long, and the leaf is designed to hang just an inch or less below the earlobe. The longer option measures 55mm (just over two inches) and the leaf will hang at jawline level. The ear wires are made from solid brass.
Edinburgh in October sees the leaves starting to change colour, and there's a lack of tourists. But Edinburgh in the fall also brings colder and shorter days!

Capturing the serene beauty of Portmahomack Harbour, this evocative print invites the viewer to embrace the tranquil simplicity of a Scottish coastal gem at the day's end. Embraced by the minimalist ethos, the essence of the harbour is distilled into pure form and colour, where extraneous detail is omitted in favour of bold and emotive blocks of hues. The orb of a dipping sun bathes the scene in a warm glow, as the sky transitions from a soft amber to cool evening tones of dusky blue-grey. The mirrored symmetry of the water reflects this gradient, interrupted only by the brusque outlines of bobbing boats that cast their silhouettes upon the water's surface. The watercolour reflects a rich tapestry of oranges, yellows, and deepening greys which suggest the waning light. Structures, simple and unadorned, speak of a timeless village, their whitewashed walls a silent testament to the quietude of the hamlet. Their steadfast geometry – a series of rectangles and unembellished roofs – stands in harmony with the harbour's quiet landscape, their peaceful uniformity an anchor in the seascape. The dockside is animated by the inclusion of boats moored for the night, lending a hint of life and daily workings amidst an otherwise still and meditative composition. Each vessel's presence is felt more as a compositional element than a detailed subject, affording the scene a sense of balance and proportion. This print, belonging to the 'Scottish Harbours' collection, offers a reflective and contemporary interpretation of coastal life. It is ideal for those seeking a poised and thoughtful portrayal of Scotland's maritime heritage, one that will gracefully complement any space with its restrained beauty and subtle storytelling.
The Trossachs are often referred to as the Highlands in miniature. The real beauty of the region are its richly forested lochs, with especially spectacular colours in autumn. They include Lochs Ard, Venachar, Achray and Chon, but most famous is Loch Katrine, indelibly associated with Sir Walter Scott. Scott helped to popularise the region in the nineteenth century and the Trossachs became immensely fashionable - on the itinerary of many distinguished Victorians.
