I am starting a new weekly post called "Scientific Saturdays." I am getting myself prepared to teach Science every day for a whole period…TWICE. A lot different than squeezing it in for 15-20 minutes whenever I could. My hope is to post things that I'm actually doing with my students, but for now it will be a variety of things that I have been finding and planning. My first focus is setting up my classroom. I have many questions about what a fifth grade middle school room looks like. I don't want it to be too babyish, but I still want it to be ME. My first plan is the big bulletin board. Here are the boards that are inspiring me: I want one big science wall with things that will stay all year and some things will change. Link I hope to take pictures of the kids doing science each month and have them create the posters. My goal is to have them blog on my classroom page. Link I just love this guy and would love to have a scientist on my board. Link Link I will have these posted on my Science Wall Link Safety Tips Link Link Link Link Link

A little extra cosiness with MiniJumbuk's Warm Wool Quilt. For colder sleepers and winter comfort. WHY CHOOSE THE WARM WOOL QUILT? Created for sleepers that tend to get cold in bed, the MiniJumbuk Warm Wool Quilt offers additional insulation for extra cosiness. This quilt retains slightly more heat than our Everyday Quilt while the superfine cotton casing keeps it light and comfortable. Made using Airlight TechnologyTM, the extra wool layer design and fine cotton casing retains up to 20% more heat while being a similar thickness to standard wool quilts. AIRLIGHT TECHNOLOGYTM Exclusive to MiniJumbuk, Airlight TechnologyTM is an advanced process we apply to wool fibre, which allows each layer to trap more air. This innovative design offers superior insulating properties. When combined with our super fine cotton casings, the result is a lighter, more comfortable quilt that perfectly regulates sleeping temperature. MiniJumbuk has crafted a range of five quilts, each with a different number of wool layers to suit your individual sleeping needs. SCIENCE OF SLEEP Good sleep has the power to rejuvenate your body and leave you feeling more invigorated every day. And a healthy natural sleep starts with wool. Wool is a breathable fibre, so it regulates body temperature to keep you relaxed and comfortable. Scientific studies show that wool promotes an uninterrupted and deeper sleep, so you wake more refreshed. AUSTRALIAN INSIDE & OUT MiniJumbuk is based in the country town of Naracoorte, right in the heart of the Limestone Coast. We are proud to employ many locals and partner with Limestone Coast farming communities to bring you wool bedding products like no other. CONSTRUCTION Casing – Fine sateen 400 thread count Filling – 450GSM – Australian Wool Fill LOW ALLERGY Wool is naturally non-allergenic, making it ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers.
