I love their shapes, their symbolism and their appearance, just as I love the reference to Gothic and Baroque. I used my favorite shade of red that I usually use for votive hearts and a Victorian gold that gives them a vintage touch. The ex voto are in pewter. The rosary choker evokes the Victorian taste and the Sicilian tradition. Oxidation gives the elements an antique tone giving them the appearance of relics caressed by the passage of time and a vintage taste. The votive heart is in oxidized aluminum, the carabiner in steel, the washers in crystal and the small parts in oxidized brass. The heart was painted and enamelled by hand both on the front and on the back. The heart is decorated with pretty white flowers adorned with a siam red crystal. The floral pattern is connected to the breasts. The watermarks are in fact enriched by small white flowers that, give the earrings vitality and joy. These flowers were also enamelled by hand. L’idea che questo oggetto portasse fortuna a chi lo indossava, pensate, risale al periodo preistorico, poiché veniva chiaramente paragonato alla forza di animali dotati per natura proprio celle coma. Fashion has evolved so much that colors and accessories are now mixed and used in any season, changing tone based on the clothes you wear and the tone you want to give them. This time I was looking for something particularly vital and colourful. One of those accessories that when worn can change our mood and make a dark day cheerful and sunny. Although this necklace is very lively, it is discreet and very delicate. The necklace is made up of two threads. The longest thread is made with a thin steel chain from which many pendants of various colors, materials and subjects hang. The shorter wire overlaps the hanging pendants and joins them laterally. For this part I created a rosary shirt with Czech crystals of various colors. The necklace is vital, cheerful and colourful. In total seventeen pendants hang from the necklace. Many of the pendants are talismans, votive offerings or good luck charms. There are green four-leaf clovers, bamboo coral horns, a small superstitious red horn and the evil eye which mix with votive medals depicting Christ, Saint Benedict, and a small cross. To cheer everything up there are a small star, small cluster leaves and baroque elements in a minimal version such as a rose and a small crown. All charms were enamelled by me.
