{still white} working on Tutte modellate a mano, senza progetto né disegno, con la tecnica a lastre. Una diversa dall'altra, tutte di forma irregolare e col bordo ondulato, in semirefrattario bianco, la mia terra preferita. E adesso, mi spetta un bel po' di lavoro, ma è quello che amo di più: decorare! All modeled by hand, without a plan or design, with the sheets tecnique. Everyone different, all of irregular shape with scalloped edge, in white semi-refractory, my favorite clay. And now, there is a lot of work to do, but that's what I love most: decorating! We first ate this cake when we were having lunch at our local, Bondi’s Lox Stock and Barrel. After we’d demolished a few pastrami sandwiches, co-owner and chef Neil Gottheiner kindly sent out a piece of this super-delicious coconut cake with a tart passionfruit icing. He then shared the recipe with us and, given its incredible crumb and cakey texture, we could not believe it was flourless — it surprised us all.
We proudly present a set of 3 wooden wall decors both for your home and office as this creative design will be a true eye-catcher in every kind of interior. The show wood wall art triptych is created out of different species of tree to show a diversity of wood grain and colors. Wood brings in a natural warmth and coziness to every modern space. Therefore this environmental wood wall decor is perfect for environmentalists but also for those who just feel comfortable being close to natural accents even staying indoors. The irregular shapes of wood and the unique varieties of patterns are an excellent opportunity to take a moment to relax and contemplate the artwork of nature. We believe that Nature itself creates true works of art. Our job is just to move these natural pieces of art into residential and commercial space, processing them as little as possible in order to maintain their natural quality. All we want to do is dress wood in a modern shape. In this project we aim to show a diversity of wood grains and colors. All slices are very smoothly sanded for clear exposition of rings drawing. For hours one can contemplate the unique wood patterns. The shown set is a previously ordered and sold one. The pictured panels was 51”x51” (130x130cm). The listing is for a set of 3 pieces 23"x30" (59x75cm) each panel or 25"x25" (65x65cm) pieces. We will custom make similar panels of this design. We can customize the dimensions, color (natural or warm hue), shape and even used spices of tree. Each set will be absolutely unique and never exactly the same as shown on pictures. The slices of wood are stuck to the black (or customized color) painted plywood with strong glue which give this wall hanging an aesthetic outlook. All panels come with tooth hangers attached on the back for quick and easy mounting on a wall. The process of creationing the wooden artwork. The whole process of making this unique wooden wall triptych takes plenty of time. Starting from claiming the pieces of wood from the forest to the final finishing, each piece passes through our hands several times. Each, even the smallest, piece is treated individually with due care and attention to fully bring out its natural beauty and to not interfere with its natural character. We start from claiming the tree branches from forests and orchards, then we air dry them for a period of 3 to 12 months. Afterwards we kiln dry the wood to eliminate insects that lives inside. Then the branches are cleaned, precisely cross cut, smoothed and sanded. Only now is the time to create an artwork - laying down the mosaic of slices. To prevent slices form cracking and color changing, at the very end each piece is impregnated with an organic oil. Although this process is a lot of fun, a lot of hard work is also done. But the effects are truly rewarding… We collect wood from nearby forests. We take the cast-off fragments of trees which remain unused after felling and are left to decay. Branches, crowns, roots and crooked trunks are not valuable for industrial processing but their forms and shapes make excellent material for our projects. The pieces of wood we can’t claim from the forest directly are sourced from a state governed forest. Those trees are cut down according to sustainable felling planned years ahead, so none of the trees we buy are cut down for the purpose of making our furniture. Our eco approach We stick to our environmentally friendly approach throughout the entire manufacturing process. We try to utilize the pieces of wood as much as we can. Cut-offs from large wood pieces are used to make smaller forms and decorations. Wood chips provide our workshop with heat. Sawdust goes to a composting facility to prepare fertile ground for other trees and plants. In order to keep its naturalness and freshness, wood demands the best preparations. Caring for the environment and your comfort, we impregnate our furniture and protect each piece against dust and dirt using organic oils and waxes only. We work with German Livos and Finnish Tikkurila oils which are based on natural components: linseed oil, wax, resin and wood oils. The composition of these is either 100 % organic or contains trace amounts of solvents. These oils don’t cover the wood with a chemical skin. Organic oils and waxes enhance the beauty of the wood and protect it very well. And, what is most important: organically impregnated wood does not lose any of its freshness or naturalness!

Milena Naef juxtaposes the manufactured shapes of marble slabs with the organic forms of the human figure in her performative sculptural works. In her series ‘Fleeting Parts,’ the artist removes portions of Cristallina marble to create openings that are perfectly shaped to allow arms, legs, and torsos to emerge. Naef, who lives and works in Amsterdam, describes her work in a statement: “Once tangible, the interaction with the concrete material allows for a space to ‘open’ in which a given context can be changed.
