In this two-day online zoom class we will make the classic New York Beauty block with a twist, a block I created for the Modern Times Quilt. You will learn how the different blocks are designed and put together, the way the different parts can be shifted and moved to change the look of the block. We will sew no-pin machine-pieced curves in three sizes whilst playing with my Drunkard’s Path Template, a tool that makes precise blocks that are easy to piece together. We will also cover all the stages of Foundation Paper Piecing using Freezer Paper- how to prep the paper, what stitch length to use, how to best put the block together and more. The techniques learnt will give you knowledge and freedom to design your own version of the Modern Times Quilt 10% class discount on my custom Quilting Templates: The discount is for the Complete Drunkard’s Path Set and the 14″ Drunkard’s Path Set used in this class as well as on the Complete Oval Drunkard’s Path Set and all quilt patterns in my shop.
'Geometric Ballet' (Homage to Oskar Schlemmer)' is a Gesamtkunstwerk by Ursula Sax which unifies sculpture, space and motion, dance, theatre and music.
Get those Y-seams and curves in perspective in this one-day skill-building workshop. Whilst making my latest design, the Floating Stairs, you get to try Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) using Freezer Paper and sewing curves with no pins plus we will talk about perspective, vanishing points and how you draw this deisign from scratch Intrigued? Beware! This workshop is not for the faint hearted as we will cover many different techniques, but if you are up for a challenge and the modern design is drawing you in, this class is for you.
